Vertical Hold is a great gym with a welcoming spirit and awesome vibes. It offers super fun and interesting routes for bouldering, top rope, and lead climbing, though some note the climbing gradings can be a little bit inconsistent. The gym provides a good amount of ropes and bouldering, with new auto-belays for great solo workouts. Staff are very kind, super friendly, and will take great care of you. The business has three locations in San Diego, Poway, and San Marcos. The Poway location is much bigger and offers much more regarding training and working out, including locker rooms with showers. While it may have less lead climbing available, the San Diego location is noted for its amazing lead climbing cave. All locations share the same music playlists and welcoming atmosphere. Vertical Hold is more than a gym; it is a great community. It offers amazing birthday parties, kids camps, youth climbing teams, and expert instructors for all levels. You can enjoy revitalizing yoga classes, beginner clinics to learn outdoor climbing, and many other events that connect new friends. They also offer group and personal lessons, free monthly classes to sign up for, and route setting upgrades. It is a fantastic place for a new way to workout, a great date night, or a new home gym.
Super fun spot for all levels of climbing. They really took time showing my boys what to do and giving them great instructions. The place is huge and has free (no ropes) climbing areas as well. Definitely recommend you come and spend the day! WiFi for mom and dad, too

Great gym. Grades can be a little bit inconsistent but who cares. Super fun routes, good amount of ropes and bouldering; super friendly staff and awesome vibes. Would love to see a bit more lead climbing, but overall great gym.
