Awful. Service was poor. Food served cold. Large group of 20 seated right next to us. They were loud and disrespectful. They are so lucky to have a business here and are very ungrateful.

We came here to eat with our family of 6 and it was an amazing experience. The food was really delicious. It was our first time to come here and definitely recommend every one to come here with their family!

The food was excellent and delicious. The customer service was even better. They took care of us right away. I had gotten the Lamb skewer and chicken thigh.

Overall it's very good 4.5 under previous ownership first they serve Persian/arabic bread with cheese and some veggies. We really liked that. Atmosphere was great, Customer service was great. Specious parking lot. Live piano while we enjoyed our dinner that was great. Prices were perfect. We ordered shish kebab and spicy koobideh it was great.

I rarely write reviews, and almost never for restaurants but this was one of the worst dining experiences of my life. First the good: Atmosphere is 10/10, really nice ambience, that my wife and I talked about when we first arrived. Food: Persian food is my favorite type of cuisine, I typically get Koobideh with salad and my wife always orders lamb shank. We have tried koobideh and lamb shank at Persian restaurants all over the state of California. The koobideh was good, the salad was very fresh and the dressing was amazing. My wife's lamb shank was literally 90% bone - I was shocked the waiter even brought it out, looked absolutely nothing like the pictures of other reviewers and I even asked our waiter why it was so small - he said because they come in a package and some are smaller than others. Ok - but there should be standard for what you serve guests, this should have been a free shift meal for a staff, not something a guest paid $30 for. My wife is a small lady, and she always orders lamb shank when we go to an Iranian restaurant and can never finish it - this is the first time I've heard her say "I'm still hungry". Service: We arrived at the restaurant on a Saturday at 4:20 and ordered at 4:25. I have time stamps because we took pictures of our daughter when we sat down. After our first waiter took our order he must have left for the day. At 5:05 I finally informed another waiter that we had been waiting for over 40 minutes and if he could update us on our order. During our 40 minute wait the restaurant was empty and there were about 6-7 staff hanging around - not a single person came to check on us or refill our water. Meanwhile my toddler was going nuts from hunger and boredom. The main reason we went here was because it was the closest restaurant when we decided to stop and eat on our trip. Other families showed up at 5pm, 5:10pm and started filling the other tables for dinner - they all got their food before us. It's one thing to wait almost an hour for your meal, have multiple servers walk by your table and ignore you, and another for a total rip off with an almost non-existent lamb shank. I was really disappointed because the ambience was so impressive I would have liked to come back again next time Im in the area - instead this will be regarded as one of the worst dining experiences of my life. In another poor review a guest suggested that if you're not Iranian you may receive different treatment. The waiter asked about our background and he was informed my wife is Iraqi.

the worst customer service and worst food ever. I don't ever suggest anyone going there to waste time and money.

I want to say that Shahrzad Restaurant is among the best in the Sacramento area. They serve Iranian dishes with excellent taste. On Sizdah Bedar, they had the best hospitality for guests. I am truly thankful for your hospitality. I recommend this restaurant to everyone.

We are Iranian Americans living in Sacramento for the past 12 years. We know all of the Persian restaurants and have tried them all multiple times. We are also very good home cooks. Shahrzad is currently the best Persian food option in this region. In the last year (2023-24) they have improved in several ways that make them consistently a 5-star experience. Their koobideh kabobs are excellent in flavor, large in size, and very nice in appearance. This is the standard on which most Persian restaurants are judged. They offer a spicy koobideh option which is nice if you want to break things up with something different. The khoreshts are delicious. We usually get a ghormeh sabzi and a gheymeh, but their fesenjoon is also very good. My son is a pescatarian and loves their fish, which is a lightly fried trout fillet. Their lamb kabobs are very good, too, though I don't usually order them. Their doogh is homemade and satisfying. Pro-tip: splurge for the half rice half salad option for a few more dollars. The rice portion isn't decreased too much, but importantly the green salad is remarkable because of the delicious house dressing. It tastes of a light creamy salad dressing with dill and tanginess that is memorable. On weekends they have live music consisting of. Piano player and percussionist that play Iranian classics that really make the ambiance warm and inviting. Tonight our server was Roshan who did an excellent job. She is an asset to the team, but all of the other servers we have had recently have maintained a similar standard of warm hospitality.

Excellent food, and even more excellent service. Our server Pani was extremely courteous and went above and beyond to ensure we were satisfied with our meal. The live music added to the ambiance and was definitely a plus!

Since the new ownership took over at Shahrzad, I've noticed a significant decline in food quality, which is deeply disappointing. What's more baffling are the wait times, even when the restaurant is clearly not busy, making the dining experience unnecessarily prolonged and frustrating. The atmosphere upon walking in has also taken a turn for the worse; it feels oddly unwelcoming, as if walking into a restaurant isn't the most normal thing in the world. This awkwardness, combined with the long wait to get a table and then another 30 minutes for food, has led me to decide that I will be taking my business to Maydoon in downtown from now on. The overall experience at Shahrzad has become too uncomfortable to justify returning.

Under new ownership. Haven't been back in a while and food is still delicious. Best Persian food in Cali. Adana kabob plate is fire. Order half rice half salad. Homemade doukh is so refreshing.

The food here was good. Everything was seasoned very good and the meat was very tender. I got the chicken soltaani, with the chicken thighs and beef koobideh. We didn't wait long for our food to come, maybe 20 minutes which in my opinion was a good waiting time also considering that we were a big party. Our server was funny, he was very kind when serving us. the decorations around the restaurant were nice and authentic, however, it was just dark. The restaurant is tucked under trees so there isn't much natural lighting.

I went to Restaurant Shahrazad tonight, and it was really great. The place looked nice, with fancy decorations and nice music. The food tasted amazing, and each dish was made really well. But what made it even better was the excellent service from our waitress, Ms. Faezeh. She was really helpful and made sure we had a good time. Thanks, Ms. Faezeh, for being so awesome!
