Walter super cool and the young lady there with him today. Gorgeous beings. Great humans had me in and out in a matter of minutes. Energy is healing and loving in this wicked world we live in. It was like a breath of fresh air

Absolutely shady. I got financing done through a contractor to get my kitchen remodeled. We started getting a bad feeling about the contractor and called the bank the day the financing was to go through and told them to cancel. A week later, imagine my surprise when received a bill for the first installment. Not only had they dispersed the entire amount (nearly $40,000) to the contractor, they failed to inform me this very person had filed multiple bankruptcies and had walked out on numerous jobs without ever starting or ordering materials. Just like he did with mine. This bank did zero due diligence and now I'm stuck paying a bill with nothing to show for it. Stay away from this bank

If I could give 1 star I would! This bank is a predator to hard working families! I spoke to someone over three months ago about a disagreement on when payments started. They claimed I owed a payment before the bank even received the loan. Not sure how a bank can take money if they admit in an email they don't have the loan! I have been paying $70 over the minimum every month but they claim I'm behind because I "missed" the payment before they received my loan. The lady I spoke to said she'd look into it and call me back...forward to now, I get a letter in the mail threatening me with a higher interest rate, claiming I'm over a month behind on my payments, which is a lie because I pay $200 on the same day every month via autopay. All this looks like is a bank acting in a predatory fashion with a family who PAYS every month over the min because they know they won't get as much interest, so they threaten to charge me a higher interest rate! In a time when people can barely afford FOOD AND GAS, this bank doesn't care AT ALL about it's customers. Then they turned my autopay off in order to make it look like I missed a payment! I've already contacted BBB and I'm going to file a complaint with the State of CA. DON'T BANK HERE!!!!!!!

Had to use this place for my SMUD loan, so it was not by choice. When I had to go into this place, it was terribly slow. Technology and bank features are not up to times. Paid off my loan in whole, just so I would no longer have to go here... that basically says it all. I would pass!

After reading the ridiculous self-serving response from Shelley Wetton, a marketing employee, who knows nothing about the IT issues I have had, I reached out to the Shannon Cowden who has been helping me with their system issues. I am attaching the nicer response I received from the only employee at Five Star that was TRULY nice and helpful. I really appreciate her help.

They should call this place 1 star bank. This place is terrible. They bought all of SMUD's energy efficiency loans. I paid my bill to SMUD and find out a week later that Five Star sent me a bill saying my payment was past due. This all happened before they sent me a "welcome to the bank letter" that informed me that my SMUD loan had be sold. You can't pay your bill online. You have to either mail a check or go into a branch. The branch only have a single person working. The whole thing is a joke.

Great bank for small business needs. If there is one reason to bank with this bank it is DAN SOZZI. He is a great example of how customer service should be. (Wells Fargo bank is an example of how customer service should NOT be) We are so happy to have made the switch.

Our banking relationship with Five Star Bank has been nothing short of fantastic and exceptional. Having been in business for over 20 years, we have had many experiences with many banks along the way and I can personally say that Five Star delivers the best customer service, goes above and beyond, cares about their customers and their needs, is responsive and nimble and has the warm and friendly feel of a small bank while having the power and capability of a large bank! This was especially put to the test with the recent COVID-19 emergency. Their staff worked around the clock, at all hours of the day and night and on the weekends to ensure our company was ready to go for the first round of emergency relief; which allowed our business to keep our employees on staff at 100l% wages, even when our receivables were impacted. Without the hard work and dedicated staff of Five Star Bank, I'm not sure we would have been able to do this! I look forward to a long term working relationship with Five Star Bank and would highly recommend them for all of your banking needs! Sincerely, Chris Compton TCR Solutions, Inc. www.tcrsolutions.net

Worst bank for business, they refused to accept the PPP questionnaire, saying that they value customers who pay them more.

Would not recommend! Refused to help us through these very tough time claiming they help only "current" customers and we don't have very much money in our account. HORRIBLE!

Five Star Bank has been an excellent bank to work with . Every employee we have dealt with at the bank has been first rate! I can't say enough positive things about this bank our business was previously with one of the big banks and the service at Five Star is at a whole other level!

Like the other reviewer, I would rate it lower if I could. My dad was a rice farmer and died in November 2017 and left me with a mortgage through this bank for $187,000. He had been diligent about paying the mortgage and even had a dedicated account with Five Star for $30,000 set up to pay the mortgage. Within a few months of him dying, I began receiving phone calls from Rupinder Kaur inquiring about if I was going to sell the house. Months went by and because things were in probate, it was taking a bit longer. Rupinder eventually brought up how they could foreclose on my dad's house because it's "within their right once the original borrower is deceased." The bank began harassing me and threatening foreclosure on a house that was current on payment. It had been less than a year since he died. They then put the loan in default which bumped the mortgage from $1,500 to almost $3,000. Let me say again, the mortgage was current, they just defaulted the loan for a reason I can only assume had to do with getting more money from me. Rupinder and her boss John Dalton both had zero remorse about what they were doing. Eventually the house sold and I was billed $7,500 out of escrow by Five Star for "legal fees" which I was not allowed to receive an itemized list of charges because "they don't give that to borrowers." It's truly sad what they did and they did so because they knew they could get away with it. The realtor even explained that she had not once had that much contact with someone from a bank in regards to a house. Hopefully people read this and the other 1 star reviews and think twice about banking with Five Star.

Now 10 years with this bank. They have gone above and beyond in helping my business succeed. Other banks have tried to compete, but they couldn't match the low rates, personalized service, and....everything else! Five Star Bank truly has the best interest of my business in mind.
