Needed to get my car in for an AC recharge, but my usual mechanic was booked. So I took a chance and gave Highland Auto a shot. They were very helpful and upfront about all costs, and I had my car inspected and recharged in less than 2 hours despite having an appointment ahead of me.Staff was very polite and welcoming, and even provided good conversation while I waited for my ride. Although I still have my own mechanic to go back to, I would definitely recommend supporting this business!

I took my car into a local Nissan dealership after I accidentally separated an air conditioning line under the hood of my car. The dealership said the line could not be reconnected and had to be replaced for $1,600.00. I decided to shop around and found this place after a quick google search. This shop was able to reconnect the AC line and recharge my AC for a fraction of the price. I highly recommended this shop and I’ll definitely be giving them more of my business!Service: Air conditioning

Best little hidden gem! These guys are fantastic! I took my car to three other different mechanics for my temperature gage spiking all the way to high randomly while driving. The fan by the radiator would kick into high gear and in seconds the temperature gage would immediately spike to high. When I gunned it while driving the gage would go back down to normal, or when I would pull over and turn the car off, the gage would go back to normal immediately when I turned the car back on. The car never felt hot under the hood, I never lost water, no bubbling, nothing? The first mechanic said it was the thermostat then told me my car didn't have a thermostat in it when it did and said I probably needed a water pump, so I took it to the second mechanic. The second mechanic which was an electrical only mechanic said it was a mechanical issue and his expertise was electrical. He ran all the proper test, and nothing came up on the codes. The third mechanic replaced the old thermostat in my car that the first mechanic couldn't find, and the problem still continued. I took it back to the third mechanic and while sitting in front of his shop and the car idling, the mechanic saw for himself the temperature gage spiking all the way to high, and the fan going into high gear while sitting in park. Then I told him to step on the gas pedal and when he did the gage went back down to normal and so did the fan. He said he had never seen anything like this in all his years of being a mechanic and wanted to keep it for a few days. When I picked it up, he said he couldn't find what was causing the problem and bring it back as it gets worse and maybe they will find it then. I was so frustrated, mad and confused and in tears. Now here comes the good part! I find this little hidden gem called "Highland Auto Air & Radiator" Thinking maybe I have a radiator issue. But how could this be when the car never felt hot? I explained the situation to Ron in the office and he told me "No problem we will see what we can find." This lovely man went through my car with a fine-tooth comb and found the problem. He not only took his time, but he did what three other mechanics could not accomplish. He was pleasant, through and did the job right. I left there with a ten-ton weight off my shoulders. I highly recommend these guys to everyone that needs work done to their cars. Check out their website and see all the different kind of work they do. I was surprised because of their name but they do all kinds of work. I will forever take my families cars there going forward. Thank you, guys. You are appreciated!!! Shelli

I hate going to auto repair shops, but pleasantly surprised my repair didn't cost half my paycheck. My AC was squaling, but luckily it was just the blower. Ron was nice, figured out my issue quick, but the delay was the parts store kept bringing the wrong part (too many models for my silverado). Finally, the right part arrived, and I was able to pick my truck up the same day before closing without breaking the bank. Thanks Ron!

These guys are the real deal Holyfield. I'm very picky with mechanics & these 2 guys checked every box. Experienced and trustworthy. That old school feel to fixing cars. Couldn't recommend anyone else. -Theo munoz

We are in the process of converting a city bus to a camper. We need to remove the bulky HVAC units (1 AC, 2 heaters) inside the bus. We called many places most of them didn't want to bother with a big city bus, 1 bus company in Chino quoted us more than 3k for the removal. I found Ron on yelp, called him. He said bring it over let me look at it. He was the nicest guy, personable, honest, caring and professional. He crawled under the bus on both sides carefully looked up the heating unit set up, then climbed up the front engine bay and disconnected the back unit A/C compressor. He told us how to disconnect the heater coolant hosing, we can do that ourselves to save a lot of money. All together he only charged us a minimal freon evacuation fee. He took his time with us explaining everything, was in no rush to get us out of there. We also talked about camping, boating, zombie gun (haha, check out the antique cannon photo on his desk). It was the most pleasant experience for us. We understand his shop usually does not serve vehicle this size , but Ron went out of his way to help us and saved us a lots of money. We couldn't thank Ron enough. Also big thanks to the guys at his shop for jumpstarting my car (I left the lights on).

We found Highland Auto on Yelp and thought we would give them a try. Our A/C had gone out so we called and were able to bring the car in right away for a diagnosis. We needed to replace the condenser, so Ron was able to order it that day and then worked with our work schedule for us to bring the car back in. The install went great, the prices were fair (much better than a dealer!) and now the A/C blows ice cubes:) We will definitely return to Highland Auto for future work.

Can't believe this waste of time, took in for a/c diagnostic twice with appt, only to be told they can't find the problem so they won't fix it and freeon is too expensive. So much for their name
