The woman I just got helped by was the nicest post person ever. Normally they are a bit rude I find, or just not rude, but a bit grumpy, but this lady was so, so nice and friendly. For her boss, she was working at noon on sat 26th July 2025, African American lady with shoulder length curly hair. She was lovely. It was my first time at this post office.

Lady working March 24 was super rude. Was talking to a friend the whole time and when she finally saw me she pointed to put my package's on the table and keep talking to her friend. I checked today and one of the items didn’t ship and saw it came back to me today. She wrote a note saying I couldn’t use the box I did but I do it all the time at my Long Beach location and never had an issue before. First and last time going to San Pedro post office

I was overcharged by an employee who faked ignorance of basic postal rules. She made me buy full price stamps for an additional ounce on several letters, while USPS has an additional ounce stamp that costs less. Coincidentally or not, they also weigh all correspondence and consistently claim the letters weigh just a hair over an ounce, forcing you to buy additional postage. I usually go to the post office in Silver Spur, and while they also weigh letters, I've only been asked to pay additional postage in a handful of cases where it was obvious that the letter was heavy. But in this office, the letters that they claim to be heavier than the limit don't appear unusually heavy to me. For example, an envelope with one greeting card in it somehow costs extra. I am convinced that they are routinely overcharging customers.
When I tried to talk to another employee about being overcharged for additional ounces, she not only acted rude, but turned to the person waiting behind me, made a face, and apologized to them as if I were a Karen wasting her time. I was overcharged several dollars and did not get my money back.

I recently visited this USPS location and had an unpleasant experience with a worker who wears flowers in her hair. She was rude, unhelpful, and acted like she didn’t want to be there. When I asked a simple question, she responded with an attitude and barely spoke, making the whole process frustrating. Customer service is important, and unfortunately, she didn’t seem to care at all.

What does the postal service do anymore? I went to ship a box and had the print label on my phone, but they said they won’t print it, so I asked where I could get it printed and they said Postal Annex which is right next door. I asked if they could ship it too, and YES!! So I went to POSTAL ANNEX, where there was NO LINE, and they printed and shipped it for me. The owner was very nice, and they are locally owned and operated. I’ll be using them from now on.

That post office gets mail so mixed up after the holidays, and I hear that sometimes mail gets stolen. I think post offices should have security systems installed!

Incredibly rude staff. There is no need to treat possible customers with disrespect and ableism. If I were you I suggest getting your stamps online and all packaging online as the US Postal service hired some very grumpy and rude ableist people at this location.

BEWARE!!!!!! HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! worst worst worst customer service!!!!!!!!! so annoyed. OBVIOUSLY you always ALWAYS ship with UPS/FedEx but..... I was selling an item and decided to go USPS route. This location is the worst one ive ever been to. When I was shipping out my package they said OH YOU NEED TO ADD INSURANCE and it was like 50 bucks or some BS. I said no. And now guess what? My package is missing... WTF she forsure is the one who lost it on purpose. I literally drive over and shes like no CLUE no Clue where it is.. She said its at the LA Hub... UM NO becuase the tracking was only scanned once. And then says to wait 30 days... BRO by 30 days I will have a negative review. So annoyed, not helpful, horrible attitude post office. NEVER EVER COME. BEWARE!!!!!!!!

The customer service here is HORRIBLE. I was in line waiting for the customer in front to finish getting help. He was an elder man who barely spoke english, the employee was sooooo rude to him. Theres a question about hazardous materials before paying for the shipping label & the man didnt understand the question & he kept selecting yes instead of no. The employee (a female, wish i had got her name) kept YELLING at him saying WHY ARE YOU PRESSING YES? The man didnt fully understand & gave a nervous laugh. She said ima do it again, & since she didnt explain anything to him he selected yes again & of course, she yelled at him AGAIN saying WHY ARE YOU SELECTING YES??? She finally explained to him & told him to select no. The poor man looked sooooo uncomfortable smh. Then when it was my turn, she wouldnt accept my packages because they "weren't in the right boxes" w/e that means. I have NEVER had any issues shipping using THEIR boxes as I frequently ship my Mercari orders & NO ONE has ever mentioned anything about the boxes I use. This was such an inconvenience & I do not recommend coming to this post office unless you want to waste your time. That employee (female, short, glasses, brunette) should not be working there. HORRIBLE customer service!!!!!!UPDATE: I took my boxes to a different post office & they accepted my packages NO QUESTIONS ASKED!!!! I will definitely be staying away from this San Pedro location!

This is the best USPS I have been to. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. They will help you correct mistakes and make the whole experience very simple and fast. I drive 10 minutes to go use this one because the one closer to me sucks.
