My wife and I stayed here for a weekend. Upon arrival, the valet staff and receptionist were attentive and inviting (there is also charging for electric vehicles). We stayed in one of their bungalows which had a soaking tub and a backyard with a fireplace. The room was refreshing and clean throughout. We went to Lilians for breakfast and dinner and the food/service was fantastic. I would recommend booking an appointment at their spa as the signature massage was relaxing. The landscaping, architecture, and vintage pieces throughout was flawless and I would not hesitate to visit again, my wife and I had a great experience!

LILIAN'S - Absolutely AWFUL! We celebrated our wedding anniversary at the new restaurant with our children. We made reservations about a month in advance so excited to try the revamped restaurant. Nothing short of terrible service, terrible food, and attitude. The waitress brought our appetizer to the table and had asked if there was anything we else we were waiting on "I replied with oh yes, we are just waiting on the salad" when the waitress replied in a rude tone "I only have two hands and put both her hands up right to my face" I was shocked and I said oh, you asked if we were waiting on anything else I wasn't implying anything. To that she walked away. We asked for the manager and it appears the manager simply gave the waitress a speaking with and nothing came of it. We then had our entree served after a long time waiting for it to only have it be cold. VEAL MILANESE COLD does not taste very good. Not to mention it was very tough to chew. As we paid over 350 dollars for our disgusting food we were not even comped a desert or anything for the terrible service, food, etc. To top it off it appeared the manager and the waitress were very close in their relationship. I looked back as we were leaving and they were both standing with their backs to me and she had her hand over his back. Overall, it was a terrible experience other then the darling decor.

From starting at valet, to front desk, to throughout this property The staff is welcoming, amazing, friendly and attentive. As soon as you drive up to this Historic hotel, the grounds are manicured and absolutely breathtaking. We entered the lobby and were quickly greeted by the receptionist who briefly checked us in showing us to our room. The newly renovated rooms were designed with details that mixed historical with a touch of modern luxury. The beautiful hotel is situated within walking distance to the cute Santa Fe Town. We felt relaxed and made our stay one of the best we've had in San Diego. We stayed mid weekday with a fair rate seeing how The hotel is newly renovated and are completing their renovations throughout the hotel We hope to return soon with a similar experience. Beautiful stay in a quaint area with absolutely gorgeous grounds. Cannot wait to return!

What a beautiful and peaceful hideaway. The spa is beautiful and the grounds feel like you are in Santa Barbara!

My fiance and I had a terrible experience with The Inn. We tried to book a block of rooms and a honeymoon suite for our wedding at the hotel and after multiple attempts with calls and emails, they failed to get back to us. Finally, we got in touch with their event management lead and planned to meet onsite to book the rooms. Twenty minutes into the meeting, we were told that another couple may book the entire property that same weekend; therefore, we should just "hang tight." After over a week with no correspondence, we reached back out and were told that the couple was following through on the buy-out. The management at The Inn is very arrogant. Nearly a dozen times, they told us about their "$40 million dollar renovation" as a way of boasting about how they can afford to charge top-tier prices without considering discounts for booking a large volume of rooms. Their staff is nice and helpful for the most part, but hotel management created a very poor customer experience for us.

Hey, it's the historic Inn so even the ugly lipstick they've recently put on it can't take away from its old world glamour. The service is some of the worst I've seen not just in Rancho, but in all of San Diego. Ordered a bottle of wine and fries and once that was delivered, literally that's the last I ever saw of the server. An hour and a half later a manager came up and asked how things were and I had to say can I get my check? That was delivered quickly followed by demands from the perviously non existent server to pay because she wanted to get off shift. Rude. Also, note to self, that the wine I bought by the bottle would have been less expensive if I had bought by the glass. Just a really horrible experience end to end.

They have done a beautiful job renovating unfortunately they have not done a great job training their bar staff to be polite towards their customers and after having the same waitress being super rude 3 separate times. I will not try again, I am will not return.

Not a fan of the main valet attendant. Rude, condescending and flippant. The other valets were kind and considerate but management take note not a good look for your reopening. I will review Lillian's restaurant separately.

Hello again it's Dylan White with the 2023 Raters. Tonight we found ourselves at the Rancho Santa Fe in which might have been a mistake , To begin with the service it took an absurd amount of time to get drinks and longer to get our food. We rated service a 3.7. For the atmosphere it was very nice for a Saturday and the Christmas vibe was great earring a 4.5/5. For food my wagu sliders were amazing along with the salmon and fries also earning a 4.5/5 too. And finally the drink I ordered was great earning a 4.7/5. For the grand total the Rancho Santa Fe Inn earned a total of 17/20 #mid #lucky If they are lucky we might come back. This is the official Dylan White, Peace

I'm not angry with the hotel. They're just overpriced for the experience they deliver. I'll start with the good: * Setting is beautiful * Easy access to restaurants Now all the reasons why you shouldn't pay this much: * There were 2 bugs on my bed when I arrived * The towels didn't absorb any water. It was like drying off with Saran Wrap * There were construction workers all around the property until 10pm. Not safe for my female co-worker * The workers were up late yelling at each other right beside my room. * They offered a gym at check in but all the gates were locked to get there. It took the manager 10 minutes to figure out how to get into the gym and we had to go through the manager's office. * The layout of the hotel is strange and the map they provide is not very helpful. It's hard to find your room, especially at night If this was a Motel 6, I wouldn't be bothering writing a review but for this price, the service just wasn't there.

Room was just remodeled and a nice size. Great shower (if it works). The grounds were nice as well. The whole stay was clouded by the fact that I did not have hot water for 12+ hours and when I called the front desk 5-6 times and no one ever answered. I don't think I saw someone that worked there in the 2 days I stayed there. At $600+ a night it fell very short of expectations.

Horrible experience will never return here. Construction is everywhere to the point you will need to climb over things to get to and from your room. Rooms are outdated. We woke up with NO WATER. Could not shower. Tried to call front desk and no one answered. Went to front desk and no one was even there. Had to go offsite to find a shower at a house nearby. Manager was not apologetic

We just had a memorial service for my Dad at the Inn. A place where my family spent holidays and events my entire life. I called a few weeks ago and asked if the construction would be completed by this weekend. They assured me it would be. There was absolutely nothing that wasn’t under construction. There’s no lobby. No restaurant. No pool. No spa. There are dumpsters overflowing with debris and all the outside furniture is covered in construction dust. And for no extra charge you get jackhammers. Don’t stay here. They shouldn’t even be open let alone charging $600+ a night. There are lovely nearby hotels for less nearby.

Christmas get away. In a beautiful room, but not functional. Christmas Eve, dinner, horrible, advised they were short of staff. Well they should not have overbooked with the 100 people they had. Not advised restaurant was going to close two days after Christmas and New Years. The didn't even offer fruit basket or bread basket or coffee station. You had to fend for yourself. There was no room service!!! please seems review on their web site asI don't want to waste any more of my time writing about them. PLEASE DON'T BOOK THERE!!!
