Dr. Edens was the vet I had and I felt like she went out of her way to scare the life out of me unnecessarily by telling me my relatively healthy dog is sick with kidney disease even though nothing in his labs suggested as much. I took my dog in because he was losing too much weight and she did a blood test and fecal and ended up calling me on a Saturday night when the place was closed to tell me that he has small amounts of protein in his urine but his blood doesn't show any signs of kidney disease but he could have it at an early stage and went through a litany of possible things he likely has wrong with him along with telling me he has bacteria in his urine. She threw disease after disease at me because of the small amount of protein in the urine and flat out said he likely has kidney disease that just hasn't shown up in the bloodwork yet. I luckily had a friend who is a nurse in the car with me who told me that her ranting about diseases was messed up and she didn't have enough information to be saying that stuff to me and that I should take the dog to another vet. Dr. Edens didn't even tell me my dog had a UTI, she never said it. I had to assume that's what she was talking about when she mentioned bacteria in the urine. I took the dog to a more trusted vet in Bansfield at another location and they ran the same tests and told me that there wasn't protein in his urine, that even if there was it was so negligible that there's no reason the other vet should have even mentioned it to me and that he wasn't in any danger of having kidney disease. They also confirmed that he had a UTI and it was a simple antibiotics situation. Dr. Edens had gone out of her way to call me after hours when there was nothing I could do till Monday anyways to tell me my dog might be dying of kidney disease when there was nothing in his blood or urine to actually suggest he had that, let alone ran any further tests before saying something like that to me. It was unprofessional and unnecessary. I saw her doing the same thing to other people in the waiting area where the dog came in for something else and she was like oh he didn't want me to touch his paw so he could have irritation or an unseen injury and the owner was looking at her like she was nuts - maybe lady, the dog just didn't want you to hold his paw and there's nothing wrong with him and it doesn't suggest anything further than that....don't take your dog to Dr. Edens at the Rancho Santa Margarita location. Terrible experience. My dog is now healthy, no UTI and his weight came back after a round of antibiotics, and that's thanks to the other Bansfield vet, not Dr. Edens.

We have been going to Banfield for many years and with many dogs and cats. The attention love and care they give to their patients is extraordinary. I can not praise them enough. Thank you, Banfield, for being there for our family.

What is the point of an appointment if I have to drop off my dog anyway?

I have been coming to this Banfield location for 10 years and Dr. Wu and her outstanding team have shown my Chihuahuas the highest quality of compassionate care. I am truly grateful.Things have changed post-COVID as far as going into the exam rooms, and personally I appreciate their COVID safety precautions, as I have someone immune compromised at home. It is a good decision to conduct consults in front area--also, pets tend to behave differently when owners are present. Vets may fully concentrate on the exam when alone with animal.Thank you for the EXCELLENT CARE throughout the years for Belindo & Angelina! Shout Out to the dedicated team of pet healthcare professionals : Dr. Wu, Teresa, Shannon, Jessica & Chris! The love you feel for animals shows in the great work you do!Rachelle Cano@TheOCChihuahuasOn Facebook

We had an appointment at 330 and we didn't get seen until 530. On top of that it is not a good environment. They don't even let you go in the room with your pet they made us give them our 3 month old scared puppy and wait almost 2 hours while she was in the back doing who knows what. Horrible. Do not go here. Any place has to be better.

Sadly, after 20+ years of being members of BANFIELD ZERO is too high of a rating!! They run their facility like a factory It's not the employees fault nor the doctors they're forced to produce numbers and they do not give detailed care to your pets!! The vets have no time to go over RECORDS's labs, or a smooth continuum of care!!!Our Nala Husky their patient since a puppy was neglected as they NEVER informed us of a multitude of abnormal blood tests results, one of which was her liver levels ... we could've been in a preventative... mode had we known her blood test were so abnormal!!She ended up suffering with TERMINAL LIVER CANCER had that spread to her Spleen & nodes! BTW we had to hire a competent Vet outside of the BANFIELD INCOMPETENT ARENA!! TO GET PROPER DIAGNOSIS AND CARE!!Our NALA died 4/21/23 and not one follow-up communication from BANFIELD RSM..NOW THIS ENEPT SYSTEM WANTS THE MONTHLY NEXT 2 PAYMENTS AND SO FAR REFUSES TO CREDIT OUR MEMBERSHIP BECAUSE IT DOEST END UNTIL 6/5/23!! In other words BANFIELD wants us to continue auto paying two months after our poor dog has already died! This is how they treat loyal dMembers that have never missed a payment in all these years !!! Please think of our experience when you're making decisions on your precious pets lives!! UPDATE: BANFIELD RSM reversed Nala's 2 month monthly charges..further looking into not properly informing us of previous lab results!

Brought my cat in a few days ago for routine check up regarding runny fecal. Waited for an hour to have him looked at. I got a call an hour later saying his fecal is normal but then quoted $900 plus for a list of medications and injections to help? Lol.. this was after the assistant thought he was a girl and then towards the end of the call said his testicles are located in odd areas and needs to be checked meanwhile my cat is neutered?! Ummm what...?! So I then asked to confirm we are speaking about the correct cat. After she confirmed I just came in to pick my cat up straight away. I denied half of the "injections/medications" for her to then ask if it's about money?! Ummm no. I explained he already had half the injections she listed and I'm not paying the other half when you tell me his fecal looks normal. Never once did the actual vet come out to speak with me and not even a phone call. I actually booked an appointment with a vet online at this location and wasn't even the same vet that looked at my cat. Won't be returning and I advise others to check out Trinity Pet hospital or Sendero in RMV. I will stick to my usual vets that don't try to upsell and actually read the pets paperwork. So unprofessional!

We have had Banfield Wellness Plan for 14 years for our Yorkie. We paid every month. In June I called to cancel the plan due to us having to put our dog down due to her age. I was informed that I still needed to continue to pay the monthly fee because we had taken he to the vet that year. This sounded completely crazy. There were years that we never even took he in for any services yet they still took our money. In the last year the few times we took her in the experiences were not good due to being short staffed and we even one time they told us they couldn't run tests for her bladder infection due to being short staffed, that we should pick her back up from them and to take her to a Animal Hospital. We did that and ran up a bill of close to $500. Yet we did not go back to them for that cost when we had been paying for insurance through them yet they did not provide services for her when we needed it. I requested to speak to a supervisor or manager from the Wellness Plan and was told that no one was available but they would put the request in and IF someone felt the need to call back they would. I never received a call back from a Supervisor to discuss. They have sent me to a collection agency which I am disputing because they still will not have a Manager or Supervisor contact me in regards to this matter. I would not recommend purchasing this insurance for your pet.

Beware. This outfit will try to charge you for their insurance after your pet has passed. Insult to injury. Always trying to add other charges.

Dr. Wu and her staff took great care of my kitties. Both her and her staff Matthew and Renee). We're very helpful during the whole process. She did all she could to stay within the quote she gave me a couple of weeks ago.
