I'm disgusted with having bought my 2nd prepared salad this week at the Pavilion in RSM. You'd think I'd have learned my lesson when I opened a Chef salad 4 days ago only to find the lettuce underneath the attractive hard boiled egg, ham, and chicken, was slimey and wilted. For a what, $12 salad, they couldn't use fresh greens? Tonight, I carefully bypassed the Krab Louie salad in th front position and located one with a sell by 2/5 date to find a sell by 2/8 date! thinking I'd not be fooled again. Nope, I'm the fool and once again found too many slimey and brown greens. How costly is romaine and lettuce, that Pavilions has to "likely" pull from their charity food donations and hide to sell on their prepared salads? I used to manage the food bank at SFS and would have tossed their greens in the trash rather than insult our patrons with such offerings. I attempted to complain directly to Pavilions online, but didn't find such a link. I phoned their RSM customer service 10 minutes ago and the gal that answered said she didn't know the 800 number or website for me to make a complaint and I should Google it. I endeavored to give this store a chance to address the issue prior to Yelping about it, but I'm done. When I experience a deceptive practice and not just once, I begin to wonder if the roasted chickens, prepared dinners, and salads, were also offered on their last "sell date". What a come down for a grocery store that I was always willing to pay a bit more for as they had more variety and high quality that other grocery stores. At least they used to.... The only reason I gave this Pavilions 2 stars vs. 1 star is due to their incredible pharmacy services, cashiers, and all their friendly employees. I'll likely shop at the nearby Ralph's for my grocery items as I"ve never purchased out-of-date produce there.

I was just at pavilions Rancho Santa margarita and there was an older couple, maybe early 60s with a 10 year old girl and the man was carrying her. She was barefoot. The grandpa asked her "what cheese do you want? Point to it with your foot." Then she proceeded to put her feet all over the cheeses. In the premium cheese section. I said that's disgusting and then they started yelling at me telling me to mind my own business. I was like "no this is my business because what you're doing is a public health hazard". I then went to get the manager by first talking to a checker. The manager came over, spoke to her and he was just oh well. And I was said "there's the couple right there". He ignored me. They then yelled at me again and the manager did nothing. First of all the manager should absolutely have acknowledged me and had a conversation with me. He should have then spoken to the couple. He just walked away while they yelled at me. I am absolutely disgusted. All those cheeses should be throw away.

My experience with Chase at Pavilion's flower section in Rancho Santa Margarita on December 16, 2023, was truly delightful. Chase's kindness and helpfulness while I was purchasing an orchid flower were exceptional. His genuine warmth and expertise added a special touch to the shopping experience. Kudos to Chase for making the visit memorable and enjoyable.

Its not so much the prices as its some of the employees. I've noticed too many times Male employees staring at young girls, I prefer to shop here solo now for this reason. When I say young I mean 11, 12, up to maybe 15. To clarify, these are full grown men staring at little girls. Although I understand that to stare is not illegal, it's creepy to see this happening damn near every time I've shopped there. Between your produce and meat departments, you've definitely got an issue as well as your self checkout area, although I have not seen that culprit in a few months. As a customer, this is extremely off-putting. As a parent, this is unacceptable, and as someone from the law enforcement community, you should take this "Review", extremely serious...12/10/23.

BAKERY DEPT This review is about Gustavo in the Bakery dept. I brought him a picture for an anniversary cake and he did an excellent job replicating it. The cake turned out so beautiful and it was delicious. Gustavo and the morning sales team were so friendly and respectful. They had outstanding service.

This place has everything you could want in a grocery store when price is no object! Check out The Bistro for a yummy lunch (open 10-6). I tried the Ono Bowl and he made the zucchini noodles right in front of me!

I commend the staff at Pavilions. There is a wait at times at the deli due to staff shortage but regardless I always get a courteous reception and speedy help. The pharmacy staff i find very helpful. I had a prescription which was very costly and the pharmacy tech said he would look for a coupon and found one cutting my cost significantly. Floral and cashiers are always courteous. My ONE REGRET is buying their avocados!! I can't tell you how much money I have lost cutting open avocados and finding they're brown to black. Once I had all 3 avocados I bought be totally spoiled. Overall their produce dept needs more attention to quality. I try to get my produce at farmers markets nearby when I can or drive further to get produce at another grocery store.

I bought raw chicken from this location Saturday, Sep 30. The item was stored in the refrigerator immediately when I got home. The meat smelled rancid the next day and the edges has turned green. What is appalling is how the people behind the counter reacted to my complaint even if presented with the evidence, treating me more as a nuisa

PHARMACY I love the grocery staff, checkout clerks, and floral staff. The PHARMACY is terrible. I've finally just decided to move my prescriptions elsewhere. I called ahead (while driving from MV to RSM) to check on my prescription, of course they rudely put me on hold---repeatedly. Then after 15 minutes they dropped the call. I called back twice and they dumped my call to the floral department. Twice. By this time, I'm pulling into the Pavillions parking lot. Still trying to get through to the pharmacy---assuming they must have a line of customers. Nope. I walk in. No one in line. Just ridiculous. They are chronically understaffed and with the exception of one pharmacist, they are rude and have less than basic customer service skills. Their customer service skills are one step above a warm body. Not doing business with the Rx anymore. This is nothing new. The service has just declined year over year. I'd rather go to CVS at least where they are staffed through the lunch hour! I'd rather make an extra trip to another pharmacy. It would still take less time.

I am here to give thanks and gratitude to Pavillions Bakery. I regret not getting the name of the very sweet and helpful young man that literally saved the day for me yesterday. My son and his beautiful fiancé were having a small beach wedding yesterday and we were having a family reception at our house. With everything going on I forgot to order a cake. I went into Pavillions Bakery on Wednesday expecting no for an answer. But in desperation I asked if there was anyway I could get a half sheet custom cake in a little less than 24 hours. I fully expected to be laughed out of the store. I was literally willing to pay a penalty fee. Or double price for a rush order. Instead this kind young gentleman walked me through my options then took my custom cake order never once making me feel like an entitled Karen or a total moron for the last minute request. They had my cake ready before noon. It was perfect, beautiful and everyone loved it. I want to thank the entire bakery staff, especially the kind young man (whose name I will update next time I'm there) for their patience, kindness and customer service. A+++! Mr of Ms Pavillions Manager, your bakery staff deserves a raise. They never disappoint. And if it were up to me, the person that assisted me should be employee of the month. IMHO, Pavillions is the Nordstrom of the chain grocery store world. You have excellent checkers and overall helpful staff. Your bakery is more like a traditional bakery than your average grocery store bakery. You also had a better champagne selection than BevMo. You really helped me pull this party together. Thanks a million!!!

Plant based products on the increase here and price points are good comparable to othe stores. Has small organic produce section that is fresh and bright. This grocer carry some unique items unfound even at natural stores. Highly recommended if the need to shop health conscious. Late night opening a plus also.
