This place is great Jamie was very informative over the phone and got me in same day for a emergency shot we needed in order to board our puppy later in the week. Everyone was extremely friendly and seemed happy to be there. Would definitely recommend.

If I could I would give ZERO stars! I know my last review was a good one but now my pup passed away DUE TO THE MALPRACTICE of the vet! Never ever again will I ever go to another VCA again!

I have a 19 year old cat named Simon and took him in to get a tumor growing on his lip looked at. The staff lied and completely misinformed me about the procedure and made me pay $700 for simple bloodwork… and didn’t even take a sample of the tumor!! The whole purpose of the visit! Oh- and they never even called with the results for over 2 weeks. Extremely disappointed and would not recommend this place.

Was very surprised at reading some of the reviews. I moved to Redding 4 years ago from the Bay Area and have a 9 year old Cane Corso who has received excellent care at affordable cost. When I first started with Care, the Office Manager bred Cane Corso so they are more familiar with large dogs than most owners. Based reviews, some people have unreasonable expectations. Unfortunate because this is a great veterinary practice.

I would NOT recommend this place if you own a large dog. We have used this place in the past and had no complaints. However, now we are Cane Corso owners and breed discrimination is real. We attempted to board an 11 month old Corso puppy who is a goofball. He has NEVER been aggressive. Never bitten anyone. Incredible with kids and other animals. We boarded our sweet boy on Monday for a trip out of state. We get a call Thursday 2 hrs before they close telling us we need to come pick him up asap.Their story is that he wasn't eating and had become aggressive. They said he lunged "unprovoked" at a staff member. He has been boarded at another location with ZERO issues. The reduced appetite is completely understandable as he's away from home and out of his usual routine.I don't believe for a second that after 11 months he suddenly became aggressive and started lunging at people. The truth is that he is a PUPPY that LOOKS intimidating and weighs 100lbs. People take one look at him and assume the worst. And once they have that mindset, it's a wrap. I can't express my disappointment, shock, and frustration at the unprofessional, incompetent handling of our boy. This is supposed to be a veterinarian that is proficient at dealing with dogs. I can only assume that "if" these behaviors had taken place with a smaller breed, we would not have received the same call.As Corso owners we have experienced this with random people we come across but did not expect this - especially from a place that should know better. Perhaps the staff are new or untrained or simply ignorant. Our pup has been in obience training since 4 months and has been heavily socialized so this is not a matter of him being the problem. I regret trusting them with our boy! Luckily we have a friend who was able to pick him up and he witnessed first hand how they acted afraid of our pup. They wouldn't even approach or unlock his supposedly "luxury" kennel. Seriously?!? For a puppy? I'm thankful that we got him out of there and will never utilize their services again.** UPDATE: I am not surprised that not accountability was taken by this vet. Much better to create a laughable narrative to avoid acknowledging poor service and performance.Super interesting that our pup was never labeled aggressive during the months that he was seen there. Yes, please point out the career of the friend that went to pick our sweet boy up. Shout out to Don Armstrong, hands down best dog trainer ever. A true professional who knows our pup and can confirm that he is not aggressive at all.You all failed and would rather attempt to turn the tables. No wonder you have sucj high turnover and cant retain quality employees (besides Jamie, who is incredible) Better train your staff and stop being ignorant and ridiculous. This was a a complete rip off and indicative of the poor, lackluster service. Hope you do better in the future!

Very professional and caring. Dani is amazing and a great communicator. They were all so patient with us when we had to say goodbye to our dog. If you can't get an appointment, please don't get upset at them. There is a vet shortage. They are doing the best they can. Thank you Care Animal Hospital for all you did for us.

Absolutely love this place. Everyone was super friendly. The vet techs and vet were so accommodating and met my dog on his level, literally sitting on the ground with him for his exam. They were very patient as my 62lb dog decided to melt onto the floor instead of cooperate with the exam. They were extremely thorough and flexible with treatment options. It was our first time there and we got a little welcome package for our dog which was super cute. It had a baggie holder with bags, education pamphlets, and a sample of a new flea and tick medication. We look forward to coming here with both of our dogs.

Initial phone visit to book my 9 yr old lab went incredibly smooth thanks to Laura. I didn’t have to wait 6 months out for my fur baby who has terminal cancer and see her to talk about comfort care in just several days. Impressive so far.

This place is outrageous outrageous!!!!! they already charged the highest basic office visit fee, during normal business hours, than any vet I've ever been to in my entire life. I'm 44 years old, and have had pets my entire life, and I am from the Bay area, so saying they charge the highest vet office visit fee ever is saying a lot!!! The most I've ever paid for basic vet office fee is $65. They charge $98 during their normal business hours and then after hours just to bring your animal inside, they charge something like $350! That's without anything even being done! So, basically They have a setup that only works for the wealthy 1%, which is a minute quantity in this poor area of California California, and if your pet has the nerve to have an emergency after hours after hours, which is when every pet I've ever owned has had an emergency come after 5 PM on a weekday or over the weekend, then then they completely take advantage of your unfortunate situation. My cat died A-day and a 1/2 ago, because she had the nerve to have an emergency situation where where she needed immediate attention, but I also am not made of money, so I couldn't afford $350 just for her to be seen, let alone anything that might have needed to be done. These greedy vile fuckers are an atrocity and proves these has to be a mandate on how much vet clinics can charge for any office visit fee. Horrible horrible human beings!

Push every vaccine and service possible. Just making that money $$$. I am going back to my old veterinarian that only recommends what our pets actually need based on their particular living conditions.

I am SO grateful for these people!! My dog, Angus, who is a patient here, had a sudden onset of facial swelling and was not doing well. We were prepared to take him to a walk-in clinic but I decided to take a chance and call to see if they could help. The tech talked to the vet and they told us to bring him in right away and he'd get seen between appointments. They took excellent care of him and put my mind at ease. I can't say enough about the level of compassion and caring that this clinic has for its patients. I am overwhelmed with gratitude!!!
