I recently had a disappointing experience at the Hertz car rental location on Market St. East in Redding. The manager was unhelpful and rude, and she was unable to locate my reservation. Her attitude made me feel like I was at fault for booking with them, which was frustrating and unprofessional. I would not recommend renting from this location.

Collision part of the center 5/5 stars. However, customer service SEVERELY lacks. The Hertz Manager, April F, was extremely rude from the time we received the rental. She signed off on “inspecting” the vehicle when I did the inspection with another gal. Her attitude, abrasive customer service, and lack of empathy really made this experience awful. For future renters, take pictures of the fuel level when you receive it or make them fill it when you’re there. Don’t be nice like we were and just accept it less than empty or you will get charged. Thankfully we have our vehicle back, but we will never go through Hertz again.

Now i have used Hertz for over 8 years and had no trouble. But i have to say to warn everyone DO NOT GO TO THIS HERTZ, I had a horrible experience with this particular company. it was the only car that they had and I was charged $300 for a smell that was already in the car and a little bit of sand on the floorboard. Try to explain to them that the smell was already there but they we're very rude cut me off several times and refused to listen. started to raise your voice which in return made me raise my voice then the manager proceeded to threaten me that she's going to call the cops which I told her go ahead I'm not doing anything wrong. At first it was fine, dont expect a clean or non damage car. when we got the car there were several scuffs, paint chips, bird poop, heavy dust and scratches. the lady was nice but never showed us the inside , i wish she showed us the inside. the inside was scratched, dirty and had a bad smell. do not I repeat do not go to this hertz they are very low grade rental car company

Absolutely WORST customer service and rental experience possible! We were given a DIRTY car with a bad smell that we noticed after driving it away... and it was due for an oil change upon rental (we noticed the sticker after driving it away)! We were told that it was the last car available when we rented it (less than an hour prior to closing) and we were leaving on a trip the next morning, so we had NO way of exchanging it. While we were driving, the tire sensor came on! When we returned the car, the manager had the audacity to blame US for the smell that was 100% ALREADY THERE when we rented the car! She also complained about the car's sensor being on and the car being due for service... are you KIDDING ME??? She complained about dog hair, too (we have a 6 pound chihuahua who laid on her blanket the whole drive). My husband argued and tried to set her straight and she was rude. Words were exchanged... and she threatened to call the police if he didn't leave. What the actual hell. DO NOT USE THIS RENTAL AGENCY, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF. If I could give this horrible agency zero stars, I would!

Listen to me, everything carefully. Don't come here. The people who work here are very bad. They saw that I was wearing bad clothes and did not want to rent a car. And when they heard that I spoke English poorly, they immediately canceled the deal.

Worst experience I have ever had. Rented a car while mine was being repaired went to return and they accused me of smoking in my car. I told the lady I don't smoke. The worker said you have a air freshener in so you must have smoked. When I explained I am a case worker working with teenagers with body odor, she laughed in my face.

It was awful. My husband and I complained with the attorney general and BBB The manager if you can call her that is racist and she doesn't even try to hide it. I know she's done it to other people bc even the Uber driver that picked us up asked "oh you guys rented from here"? Said they're known racists and that half the businesses are owned by racists that have been in the news and had multiple complaints. He told me don't go there again , to go thru budget .

Considering all things. The website literally says you except credit, debit, and pre paid but you only except MAJOR credit cards. If you want to use someone else’s card guess what? Additional charge ?. Literally was able to cancel thank god and go to enterprise who was way more flexible and professional aka not out for money. Absolute sham of a business.
