Good super market to come to in north Redding, CA. In my opinion Raleys has the bed bread. They make the best loafs of bread, french bread, etc.

This Raleys is a nice grocery store in a somewhat blighted location. You will see homeless milling around and you will be approached occasionally for money or cigarettes. Store staff is friendly and helpful and the store is clean and well merchandised.

It's a bit on the pricey side, but definitely has the best variety of food. I came here for a specific item that only they carry. Staff were very nice. Store was well maintained.

Raley’s always has good quality food. I love their deli sandwiches and their sushi is much better than Safeway Sushi. While the prices are a little high especially for some baked goods, they do make these delicious salted caramel brownies. Mary from the bakery has been amazing and very helpful and always has a smile on her face even when I’m needy and ask for extra caramel and salt on my brownies. Thank you bakery team for all you do to make me feel like a valued customer.

I've addressed this issue twice now with employees, but somethings needs to be said publicly. When you shop here check expiration dates on EVERYTHING. Expired dairy & other products will be left on the shelf for longer than a MONTH! Just two days ago I pulled two bottles of carrot juice that were expired since 2/10/24, I had purchased this brand after 2/10/24 & realized my mistake bring it home in February. Prior to that it was Chobani Vanilla Yogurt that was well past a month on the shelf, and same thing, I bought it without realizing until I got home. This was back in January. The remaining bottles of carrot juice had only a few days left, I believe 3/15/24 or possibly the 18th, but I bet money they will still be there when I go in, in a week & I will feel obligated to bring them to the front so that an elderly person or a child doesn't become ill consuming products that are past their prime. Also, the same yogurt had only a few days left so same thing. It's clear they are rotating products, but they leave expired products there to sell. Gross, unethical & wrong. There needs be additional training. One day is possibly understandable but a month looks like profits are more important than food poisoning.

Well this was an odd trip this time. My checker was Zack. First of all thisbis an employee that should be noticed. Impeccable customer service and attitude. As he was ringing up my groceries I also had a young girl bagging my items. All if a sudden the checker behind Zack older women did not get her name wish I had yelled to the bagger to get over her and bag this stuff referring to her customer checking out. I was in shock first to berate a fellow employee but to do it in front of all the customers. I guess I was that important as she felt her customer was a higher priority. So very rude. She should of politely ask the bagger to help when she was finished with me. Zack handled it with great professionalism and a positive attitude as well as the bagger. Unrealistic I will probably never shop there again. Zack safeway is hiring. You should be treated with respect as well as the customer.

Overpriced to an absurd degree. Examples:$6.19 for a single unit of dawn power wash, only carries individual bottles with spray and not refills ($3.99 at target per refill)$3.59 for a can of Hormel chili with beans. ($2.28 at Walmart for the same can of chili, $1.25 at the dollar store for the same amount of chili from a different brand as a regular item).$3.98 a pound for chicken thighs at raileys, $9.99 a pound for chicken breasts ($3.48 a pound for chicken thighs at Walmart, $2.67 a pound at Walmart for chicken breasts)$3.98 for a gallon of milk at raileys ($3.17 at wal mart)Costco is even less expensive for these items than the above examples, but not everyone pays for a Costco membership, so I did not use it as a point of comparison. This store is part of a sister chain to one called "nob hill foods", and it certainly lives up to its name whenever you get to the register. As for the homeless, they tend not to bother you if you don't bother them (and are usually happy to just have a conversation OR a sandwich most of the time - you know, be recognized and treated as people), and likely wouldn't be homeless if they had cheaper access to food before they lost their housing. If anything, they shouldn't be the reason this place has less than five stars.Maybe blame the SOURCE of the problem, instead of trying to deal with the symptoms?Maybe show some basic humanity to other human beings that just so happen to have had a run of bad luck, AND been hurt by greedy companies, denied section 8 housing and other benefits because of a lack of a valid mailing address, recognize that risk actually INCREASES for them at local homeless shelters with limited capacity, etc... hmm?Food for thought.

When approaching Raleys store it is questionable as to where the handicap parking is as there are numerous spaces but are not all clearly marked especially with the reflective signs.
