The Hermit's Hut is a privately owned shop with old school charm and a friendly, knowledgeable owner. It provides excellent customer service with real people who are helpful and responsive, even after hours. The owner is super knowledgeable about camping in the area and about gear in general, offering excellent advice to ensure customers are prepared for their adventures. This care and detail helps customers find what they need and can even save them money. The store stocks a very excellent selection of high quality products, from sleeping bags and camping gear to arborist gear and locally made items. It is not the largest shop, but it offers a smaller, filtered selection of the best gear that is well worth the price. A unique feature is its free overfill on all Western Mountaineering sleeping bags due to a grandfathered agreement. The Hermit's Hut has a wonderful, rare feel that encourages support over bigger corporate retailers, making it a go-to shop for many.
