horrible!! heater doesnt really heat, hot water in shower is lukewarm, and tv doesn’t change channels unless you try real hard. thin walls and road noise is one thing but dont even think about leaving your room, rift raft everywhere if you dare to step outside.downtown is not the place to be. stay safe on the I5. i am in my room right now, and have been for four hours now and it is still cold.Update: 11:15 pm, it is so cold in this room i cant even sleep. this is miserable.

Great value in downtown Redding. Rooms are clean, and the beds are comfortable. Bathroom could use some updating. Some noise from the street but not too bad.Walkability: Can walk to downtown locations, restaurants, etc

Great little motel for the price. Clean and fairly spacious rooms. Courteous and helpful staff. Continental breakfast was an unexpected bonus. It's far from The Ritz-Carlton but I'll definitely stay again.

Great service, rooms, and a fun retro vibe. Nice walkable area, but the road noise and train were real loud, make sure to bring some headphones if you’re a light sleeper!

We were traveling through Redding and found the Thunderbird Lodge perfect for our short stay. The staff was friendly and helpful. They even offered us a secure place to store our bicycles! Thanks.Nearby activities: Turtle bay, sundial bridge and Sacramento river bike trail.Walkability: On the edge of the historic downtown. Easy to get to dinner.

Great place to stay!! Courteous and considerate management, clean rooms, nice firm beds (the way I like 'em)! Great central location, too, with plenty to walk to in the area. Sundial bridge was only 5 min drive

Excellent room. I love these older places because almost all of them have a bathroom window to let fresh air in. Both the front and back windows of my room here had screens and could be opened a crack for fresh air.

We arrived late after having to deal with a flat tire. Jose checked us and the dog in quick and easy and got us a great room. He also helped me find numbers to tire-shops that could help us with repairs on a Sunday. Room and breakfast area was clean and tidy. Will book again if we need to lodge nearby

Any hotel/motel that has the nerve to charge a pet fee, has to be a dumpy hotel! Any reputable hotel/motel are pet friendly with no fee thanks for making my mind up for me

Thank you Jose? and all the other wonderful folks at TL. Got "stuck" in Redding for 5 days, after a bad experience at Travel Lodge was welcomed to TL and enjoyed a wonderful visit. In the middle of everything, train and bus station 2 blocks away. Maxwell's Eatery Bar across the street had EXCEPTIONAL food. Y'all should work out a deal to put their menu's in the rooms, took me 4 days to order from them. I'll be back! Thanks again, John

Worst hotel experience I've ever stayed at. Believe it or not, the queen room includes a twin bed. It is difficult for two people to fit on it. When I reported this to the hotel that there must have been a mistake, the guy at the front desk insisted that there was a normal queen size bed. And he threatened that if we refuse the room, we will not receive a refund. I tried to be friendly, but the guy from the front desk was unpleasant and did not try to improve our stay here. Also the parking lot was all full. And our car was parked far from our room. The room itself does not look at all like in the photo. The room is very old. The bed and pillows are not comfortable. I decided not to attend breakfast at the hotel; I wanted to leave here as quickly as possible. Worst hotel I've ever stayed in.

This is a great stop for us, halfway between SoCal and Seattle! The location is convenient, parking is easy, breakfast is appreciated, and since we are often moving my son to/from college, I appreciate that I can park my car right by my room. We had 3 bikes, so really appreciated the first floor room. I absolutely LOVE their in-room amenities-the toiletries are the BEST!!!! Bed is reasonably comfy, and we slept well. We’ll be back whenever we visit!Rooms: Windows open, room AC/heat works well. Fridge, microwave, hairdryer all worked great. Coffee maker present but we didn’t use it. Water pressure in the shower was great. Room overall was spacious enough for 2 people, 3 bikes.
