Truly enjoyed our Christmas luncheon, 3 generations Grandmother, Mother and Daughter. It was fabulous. Service was spot on! Brussel sprouts and bacon wrapped dates, the bomb! Shrim tacos delicious. Afterwards we walked up and down state street and did some Christmas shopping. It was just a magical day! I will go back to tThe State for date day wwith the Hubs and try other delicacies! Thank you for making our event so special!

Our large group was warmly received and service was excellent. We were present on Taco Tuesday with a variety of delicious food choices and excellent margaritas. Prices were reasonable. Our group was especially pleased with the short rib tacos, wedge salads with tender chicken, and extraordinary margaritas. The atmosphere is lively.

My experience was otherworldly, the service was magical, and the drinks took me on a trip. picture this and bare with me for a moment, shh now close your eyes. You're handed a drink that you asked the handsome bartender to surprise you with and you take that first sip and you're taken back to that moment in your life where you first felt love? You know when your heart was 1 and not broken in 2 or maybe 15 like mine (don't wanna get into that) but I think you're picking up what I'm putting down or probably not (I'm really strong lol) anyways as I transcended and came back twice and opened my eyes, the expression I had on my face surely portrayed gratitude as mine and the bartender (Scottie) eyes locked and we both let out a heterosexual grin as to not misconstrue any feelings here and he said softly “did you enjoy that” as I stared at him “middle of the ocean” by Drake started playing and I let out a chuckle. Yes Scottie that was excellent as he cleaned the same glass with a handkerchief like they do in movies for 5 minutes straight. Glass clean enough there bud? We both laughed. Yes Scottie that drink was heavenly, can I have more cherries to go with the drink as I spun the heavenly liquid in my glass as he retrieved them. He turns around with a couple in his hand and said “you ready?” I said for what and he said “open up we like to have fun around here” he proceeds to put them in his mouth and spit them towards me with precision, lands in my drink likes he's done this before. Bravo as I clapped vigorously with a tear streaming down my face. Now the crazy part is that during this time there was another bartender who watched this spectacle from start to finish holding an ice cube. Erica was her name I believe? She sat there in silence and awe as she was almost invisible to us during the Disney moment Scottie and I shared. I will be returning as often as possible. 5 stars.

We had a large group of 9 people. They accommodated us very well and service and drinks and food were all amazing!!

Food that arrived didn't match the description on the menu (items missing/substituted). One order arrived incorrectly but the staff was great about rectifying it - greatly appreciated.

The short rib tacos were ok. Not the best. The rib eye steak was vey salty. The soup of the day was way too spicy. Almost like hot salsa for tacos.

First time trying this place. Great food and drinks at a great price. Definitely recommend the chilaquiles. Pro tip, ask to add stake with the chilaquiles 👌🏼

The State is the best. Date night, dinner with the kids, or celebrating special events, the State is out favorite spot. Delicious food at a great price point.

My son and I went on a dinner date here. The food was delicious, but the portion size were a little small. The lighting is done dim and that can be a little bit undesirable. If you're not ready for it they only had two TVs in the bar and you couldn't see them really from the patio and there was a dodger game on. overall we had a great time and Sierra was a great server!

We love The State, but Friday night (with reservations) the service was off. Waited too long for cocktails, then everything was served at once! No water refills, just off. Maybe short handed??

Food was great!!!! We started with the bacon wrapped dates, they were a major palate pleaser. We all had burgers, and they were a menagerie of great taste sensations. Our lil cute pregnant waitress (sorry I did not catch her name) was on point!! great, quick service, honest valuable, recommendations! Cool Vibe and aesthetic.

I met an old friend (whom I hadn't seen for several months) at The State for lunch. We were able to sit on the front patio because the weather was wonderful. The service was outstanding. The food was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. I particularly liked the poutine . . . especially since it is hard to find. The tacos were flavorful and the ambiance was so comfortable! We love The State! We highly recommend it to all those who would love to have a special day out!
