Every single time I shower, there is a band aid, black hair, trash, or something gross in the showers/on the walls. The towels have long black hairs in them even though they've been washed/folded. The steam room had a towelette & a bar of soap in the SAME spot 2 days in a row! Band-aids & trash floating in the pool. Teenage boys aged 13+ running around weight room with no supervision. Brunette girl w/ glasses at the front desk with a mean face NEVER says "hello/have a good day" - she needs to be fired this has gone on for months. Employees should not be allowed on their phones at the front desk.Planet Fitness has higher cleanliness & employment standards than Bay Club. Bay Club has so much potential, it's such a shame that this is what management can offer :(*The 1 star is for the new guy at the front desk that wears a necklace w/ dark hair - he is awesome and does a very great job at work! :)

I'm a member for several years and not the one usually to complain. After raising the price of my membership significantly, they should step up with their service too. The management at this club seems non existent. The morning front desk girl never says hello, never even takes her eyes from her cell phone when we check in. Most of the towels have old blood (or other bodily fluid) stains on them. When we come for the first morning group exercise class on the turf, we (members) have to clean all the heavy equipment from the turf so we have space to workout. First class is at 7am and the club opens at 6am so there is an hour window for the staff to prepare the turf. It is also a liability for the club when members move the heavy equipment out the way.I can continue with my list but looking at other reviews here, no one from the Bay Club really cares what is going on in Redondo Beach location.....

My watch was stolen in the locker room and although the front desk was nice about it I have heard of many stories of things getting stolen at this location.

Facility needs a serious recap. Older equipment. Different vibe than my home club. I doubt I will go back before upgrades are made.

I really want to like this gym because of the location and great views. The place could be really cool. The main lobby receptionist was not warm and welcoming. I barely got a hello. Not a good reception to the gym. I joined for the classes but was disappointed in the instructors. Seems like they are more interested in working out themselves than instructing. I took the weight lighting class and stopped because of the lack of instruction on good form and technique. I was concerned about injury. The instructors didn’t give feedback. I took some yoga classes and liked Nancy’s classes. I ended up doing personal training with Joe. He was a great trainer but it’s not worth paying a membership fee on top of the personal training cost.

The layout of the Redondo Beach Bay Club is very open and airy. The inside workout areas have a lot of windows and doors that are open letting the ocean air in. There is the outdoor “turf’ area for classes, weights, or doing your own thing with medicine balls, battle ropes and ploughs. The pool and spa are both outside. There are a lot of regulars at this club. The staff is very professional, front desk, trainers, and housekeeping, they are all great. I’ve been a member for 2+ years.

Excellent experience getting spontaneous personal training through John, even though I was just a guest. Excellent pool. Very clean and well appointed locker room. Front desk staff was not very friendly when I was getting signed in. Did not offer to give me a tour or in any way promote the benefits of joining (missed opportunity). Mostly they were talking about wanting to get off work. Very unprofessional. Club has a lot to offer despite being an old facility that needs some updating.

My friend told me to check out this club and that I could just show up and they would give me a free one day trial. I visited and was told that to experience the club I would need to purchase a 1 week trial for $150. They clearly treat minorities different than white people who are interested in joining. Racism!

I've been going here (the redondo beach location) for 3+ years and it's gone down hill. They keep raising prices and it's about as crowded as an LA or 24 hr fitness at peak times. And its just old and in disrepair. Last month they raised rates to be within $15 of the local equinox, so i am canceling my membership and paying the extra few bucks for the Equinox. this place is not what it once was...

The pool here is just amazing, an overlooks the ocean. Plus things Jacuzzi which is open there, which after a long swim is the right antidote

Terms and conditions are as bad as any other cheap gym owners around. Canceling your membership forces you to pay for an additional month out? Can you be any cheaper?

Overly priced and half the equipment never works. Most equipment is rusty and appears old. They raised the price $30 per person in our group in the past 5 months. When we originally joined bay club told us that they only ever raise the price slightly in January, but that’s not the case. They gave us less than a 24 hour notice that prices were increased $20 per person in our group to the time we had to give a 30 day notice to quit. Staff ignored our calls and did not call us back for weeks and then when we finally got ahold of them, they were extremely rude. Why would we have to give a 30 days notice to quit if you only gave us less than a days notice of the drastic price increase?

Glad this gym is around. 24s been too packed and this place feels like 2 gyms, indoor and outdoor, with some amenities and an outdoor pool with master classes. Its clean, the building itself is a maze and a little outdated but it's nice to get a sunset in if you're working out at that time. Parking can be a sshiw at peak. There's also a ton of private rooms for classes you have to yourself when there's no class. Not an open layout, it's a mix of everything. Only 4 stars because of the hours. Sundays need reconsider opening past 7,
