I last walked in here (to close an account) about 7 years ago. I guess those were the good ol' days because my issue then was merely terrible customer service. Today there was no customer service issue because the bank isn't even a bank. No tellers, only two people at desks, one of whom responded to my questions by repeatedly saying, "To be perfectly honest, I'm new here and you can call and make an appointment with our private client group." When I told them I'm not interested in "private wealth management" for various reasons including fees that I am not interested in paying, they never gave me a clear answer and kept on repeating, "To be perfectly honest" you should contact our private client banker. (I won't identify the representative with whom I spoke). This was an especially weird experience since I remember it as a "bank" and not a couple of "new people" sitting at desks telling potential customers they don't have answers. I walked in expecting to open a new account. I walked out wondering how I could regain the time I lost getting no answers to my questions.

This bank will only take the time with you if they think you are Private Client potential, meaning they feel you could deposit at least $150,000 to set up an account and have them act as your financial advisor for the fees. Otherwise they will take their sweet time and turn you away. There's a certain demographic they only want to interact with. Lots of empty cubicles and only one person walking around in a suit while the others walk in and out of doors in street clothes and shorts. They turned the place from a regular branch with tellers to a snobby wealth management office in a high traffic area that most of the population don't have a need for. If JP Morgan really wants to increase its bottom line for its shareholders, it would cut the expenses and close down useless branches like this one.

I had to leave because the teller (- only one teller in the entire branch), was so slow. This is NOT a regular Chase Branch. They don't even take cash deposits.

I've been a Chase customer for many years. This is a shout out to Troy Stephens at the Redondo Beach branch. This morning I walked in without an appointment to inquire about setting up my accounts to the Private Client offered to a particular subset of Chase customers. I spoke to Mr. Stephens and explained what I needed. He had a client, who made an appointment, coming in and he'd be happy to make an appointment with me for a future time. I explained I was in a time crunch and could he please accommodate me since I didn't need the entire sales pitch. I had been to another Chase branch and was really pressed for time. He immediately started crunching his keyboard and ten minutes later we were done! He has my profound gratitude and I'm looking forward to doing business with him again in the future.

Nice bank in a good location. Not sure why Chase is stripping services out of this location. Staff has always been helpful and friendly.

I hope that Chase closes this 100% useless branch. There's so many better branches within 10 minutes driving distance. They have no bank tellers anymore, it's all automated non-human services for simple transactions. They do have "bankers" there for more specialty needs. They only have ATM machines if you want to deposit or withdraw money If you want to do any transactions, you may encounter frustrating experiences. If you have limits to ATM withdrawals, you may be denied with no recourse to deal with a real human being bank teller. They say the machines on the outside have limits of $3,000 on the inside ATM's and $1,000 on the outdoor ATM's, but some people purposefully put limits on their ATM withdrawing ability in case their card gets lost/stolen or a coercion robbery. So, I had problems with the ATM and nobody in the bank could help. The easiest solution was to leave and go to another Chase branch. In fact, there's a Wells Fargo Bank diagonally across the street from this Chase Bank, and I'd probably say if you bank here based upon geographical convenience, I'd just close my account here and move it to Wells Fargo. This is a 100% inefficient bank here at Chase I had visited this branch before when they had tellers, and it was one of the worst customer experiences for a Chase Bank I've ever had on several visits. It's consistently been below mediocre is the best way to describe it.

The place was empty and employees were just sitting around, yet nobody would help because I "didn't have an appointment." I wanted to open a business account but I'll take my business elsewhere. If they were busy I'd totally understand but there was NOTHING going on. I am not blind. There was only one other customer in the branch. It's just funny because I walked in a month ago and one of the male employees helped me and just needed the FEIN but he wasn't there today. He didn't hassle me about any appointment... Covid has really become a great excuse for terrible customer service, but I'm not buying it.

This has been my bank location of choice for quite a few years. I'll miss it's convenience. I'd had an issue a year or so ago where I needed something notarized (a service included with my accounts), but the notary told me she was too busy making cold calls to prospective customers to do that making me think Chase doesn't value their current customers. I stopped by the other day to get some quarters and some single dollar bills. Things have changed. According to the two employees standing in the middle of the empty bank, it's now a "digital bank" and doesn't offer traditional banking services like tellers and money. When I go to a bank, I'm usually looking for a place with bank tellers who give me access to my money, oddly enough. Too bad. It was such an easily accessible location. You know how it is when you've had the same bank for decades; It's just such an annoyance to have to change banks. New checks, new accounts, etc. But when your bank stops offering money as a service, you're kind of pushed into it. If they no longer have money, are they really a bank?

Abe Abrica was incredibly helpful today setting up my business account. He took a complicated process and made it flawless. Abe has always been a great resource for me at Chase and I look forward to working with him again. Lindsay

Very convenient location located on Pacific Coast Highway. The staff is very friendly and it is a really nice experience. I have no complaints for this branch. The only issue is that it is very hard to get in and out easily because traffic can be very bad especially during rush hour. That is not their fault though. Really great location and convenient. You can see the ocean from this branch and it is a beautiful spot to bank.

Nice place with super thick polycarbonate bullet proof separators. I believe the separators are extremely thick to better protect customers from the tellers.

I came to this branch once in a while whenever I pass by ( Pacific Coast Hwy. & Torrance Blvd in Redondo Beach ) Nice location but the teller name "Bobbi" wasn't friendly at all!! She didn't say a word not HI or when I leave say THANK YOU which I never see anywhere at Chase Bank before. Someone above her should take care about this . Any business a person that do customer service should at least say "Hello" to your customer & I almost said you re welcome today. This was my 2nd time last week she did the same thing to me. Others always nice.

I would have left zero stars but that's not an option. To clarify, The staff at the REdondo Beach branch is fine. It's the bank itself that has the problem. I deposited $650 at the branch on Torrance Boulevard/PCH. $400 cash and a $250 check. They lost my deposit and so after processing the deposit, they then took it back out telling me they could not find it. They then said they had the check but not the cash. So they refunded me $400. I knew I made the deposit and had a receipt and had copy of the receipt in their system. They proceeded to take the $400 back out because they said they found it. I never saw it even though they said they found it. I asked them to please not take it back out because it was going to put my account into overdraft I was gonna be charged $34 for every single thing that came out and it would mess me up financially. I also have two direct deposits every month which is well documented, so they knew money would be put in. I asked them if they could wait a few days until the one of the direct apposite hit my bank and then take the $400 out. They said they could not help me. At this point, they still didn't know where the check was. So they ding my account again $250 and then when they found it ,took it out again. All in all, the whole debacle caused me to be charged 12 times $34. They found that they were able to refund me four times $34. So at the end of the day, Citibank penalize me $272 because they lost my deposit. So I'm writing this review so that those of you who are choosing a new bank may reconsider using Chase bank. They suck in my opinion.

I went in to exchange 20 dollar bill for quarters. One of the bank staff said "Don't bring these torn bills to us! We don't take these!" to me. I was shocked,appalled... Because we are supposed to bring these broken money to banks for them to exchange so as to prevent circulating these torn money in the world. The manager needs to train staffs especially I am a business customer to them.

Last year I planned a one month trip to Europe. I called Chase and told them when I would be traveling and to what cities/countries. I arrived in London and my card was turned off and I was stuck with little cash on me. I called the international number and they requested a PIN number which I do not have. They hung up on me. No way to contact them after that. I called a friend in America to resolve the emergency for me. Finally at Harrods clothing store I sat down for an hour to establish my identity. The call cost me $25 it was so long. They knew where I would be and they turned off my card and hang up on me when I am in danger in another country. How rude and how dangerous to not have access to cash. If you are a traveler be careful with Chase and get a PIN number for your international emergency calls.
