I rarely write reviews, but my experience at the Lids in South Bay Galleria deserves to be shared. I went in with a vague idea of wanting a fitted hat for an upcoming trip to the Sahara Desert, but what I left with was something far more thoughtful, and personal, all thanks to Alex and Darren.
Both of them were professional, helpful, and incredibly patient with my indecisiveness. I explained my travel plans: Egypt, intense desert heat, long flights, dusty roads, and right away, Alex gently steered me away from my usual 59FIFTYs. He recommended I try a 39THIRTY flex fit, and the second I put one on, I knew it was exactly what I needed. Lightweight, breathable, and snug without being stiff, it felt like it is made for travel. I told them I still wanted a fitted for nights out and events, and Alex showed me a few Dodgers options with patches until I found the perfect one.
While I was trying things on, my daughter, who came with me, started asking about hats of her own. Without skipping a beat, Alex went to one of their racks and came out with a pink youth Dodgers hat with a unicorn on it. Of course, she lit up instantly and hasn’t taken it off since. That moment meant everything to both of us.
And then came the part that really made it all unforgettable. I wanted to personalize my black 39THIRTY with my daughter’s name in pink, to honor my wife, who is a breast cancer survivor. Alex took that idea and elevated it, he suggested adding a pink patch that said “Fighter”. That small detail, that gesture, the simple suggestion turned the whole experience into a moment I’ll never forget. They executed it flawlessly, and I now have a hat that carries meaning, pride, and love everywhere I go.
On top of all that, what stood out most was how both Alex and Darren treated every person who walked in. They greeted everyone, were engaged without ever being pushy, and maintained that energy the entire time I was there. That kind of service is rare.
I came in looking for a hat. I walked out with the perfect one for travel, a meaningful tribute to my wife and daughter, and a reminder that great customer service still exists. Thank you, Alex and Darren, for turning what could’ve been a quick errand into something I’ll remember for a long time.

Walked into the store 8/11 5pm no hello from employees both on their phone never looked up never asked if I needed help so I just walked out. Just ordered the cap online.

Dude at the shop shop helped a lot climbing up ladders and such to help me find a hat size for my big ol noggin . Didn't have the size I needed BUT steered me in the right direction right across the hall to their second location.

Went on Christmas Eve and bought 3 hats on we had embroidered with glow in the dark thread, the other two were Raiders hats. The workers are so friendly, nice and had so much fun. The place was packed. The assortment of hats seemed endless nice assortment of every sport and every color. This is the place to go for a good hat.

Great service , the hat I was looking for didn’t appear to be available , but on asking the friendly manager new exactly what I was looking for and found it , both staff were enthusiastic/friendly and very knowledgeable about there products and sports , was really nice to be in a shop were employees were happy to be there . Recommend visiting the store .

Tier 100 level s*** location. Been here for 10 minutes, not a single employee in sight. This generation blows. No easy way around that lol. Just useless lol. If you can't have pride in your job when you're just starting out enough to show up, then don't bother seeking higher paying level jobs. This is the most you will ever deserve 1 out of 5 stars. Obviously.
