Ever since Optum took over healthcare partners it's been a mess, I use to be able to call my doctor offices directly now they have this customer service line where anybody answers the phone to relay messages to whomever you calling for and i never hear back from my doctor and messages don't get delivered to your doctor. My doctor requested a referral to ortho surgeon recently for both my knees and the referral said only left knee then they never sent copy of referral to the surgeon office and to this day I'm still waiting for this mess to be straightened out two months later. Very disappointed with Optum. Plus the customer service person was so dumb!!! I guess they just hire anybody. I will be changing insurance next open enrollment next year!

Optum is horrible. After 20 years with HealthCare Partners, I switched over to UCLA Health once HCP became Optum. I am diabetic and asked my dr if I could go off one of my meds since my A1C was down. That same day I had a physical scheduled and she did nothing. I decided to go to UCLA Health because I was not satisfied with the care this dr was giving me. I learned my A1C went from 6.2 to 9.1. My new dr asked why I wasn't put on another medication. She referred me to an endocrinologist and the care I receive from her and the entire group is so much better. I recently got an email from Optum that my bloodwork is due ONE YEAR LATER? I will never go to Optum ever again and UCLA Health is the better option.

Optum has been very professional and responsive to my needs for many years.

I don't do much reviews because I normally let little things go. However, what Optum did was just too much.I recently switched insurance provider but I wanted to be loyal to the company after being 18 months with them. Loyalty doesn't mean much to Optum. The usual flow was blood draw today May 10th and then annual physical a week after May 17th. I fasted and then showed up at 9AM to find out that my appointment for blood draw was never booked even though annual physical was in for May 17th their system. Even MORE comical was the receptionist said that I did have a blood draw appointment on JANUARY.Instead of offering to squeeze in a 5 minute blood draw the same day, I was told to go home and then come back another day and fast again, of course. Please do yourself a favor and double to make sure OPTUM have your appointment correctly written down. Otherwise, you will waste your night and day planning for something that will never happen. Worse yet, your medical need is MORE severe than my annual blood test and NOT be seen on time due to delay or negligence on Optum's part. For me, I went home to look for a provider and will NEVER come back to OPTUM.

The Dr's and medical staff are great. The office staff are the worst ever. I have to go through layers and layers of automated voice phone systems just to talk to a person. It's virtually impossible to talk directly to my primary physician. The persons answering the phones are useless and speaking to someone in charge is not worth it. They also have problems w fax machines there. I needed a test at a specialty office and the Dr's orders were lost. The specialty office could not get through to optum to verify the orders were sent. I offered to go to best buy to get them a new fax machine. I have had this problem w them for the last 5 years. I have repeatedly had to call them about lost faxes from my pharmacy. Customer service from optim has gone way down but I do recommend their doctors.

I accompanied my mom to her doctors appointment today with Dr. O'Connell, and I'm pretty sure by the time he left the exam room my jaw was on the floor. It was so sad too, because my mom had spoke so highly of him, and he had really helped my dad previously , who suffers from COPD, but after today, I'm gonna help her find a doctor who can treat her with the respect she deserves. He didn't even have the decency to say hello or good afternoon. Yes she was overdue for the appointment, and she needed to come in just to get blood work so she could get her prescription refilled, but that doesn't give a person the ok to speak so harshly and belittle them for not coming in sooner. There's a ton of different reasons that people are nervous for doctor's appointments and can't bring themselves to go to them, but she went, and I was proud of her for that (she's a hippie at heart and just doesn't like going to the doctor). Before this makes her believe that all doctors are rude and harsh, I'll find her one that will treat her fairly. What a disappointment. I had read the reviews on Dr.O'Connell before and found them to be pretty bad, but we needed a doctor for my dad and at the time he was one of the few that could see him quickly, and my mom just followed along and went with him too, but not after today, we're switching. :(

I have been locked out of my portal and am waiting on important bloodwork. There is almost no way to contact my doctor because I cannot access my portal. It has been two weeks since my appointment and I am just going to have to drive there and ask if I can get my results printed in person. Disappointing.

I don't know what's going on with this place. I was seeing Dr. Davison for my allergies, picking up my meds regularly. When I ran out and tried to refill, the office said they've changed their process, and I'm the one who had to take the initiative to follow up and ask. They can't/didn't give me a date, and now I have been without meds for over a month and counting. Luckily, it's not a life threatening condition.

I like my Doctor. Unfortunately, she works with Optum. Communication is incredibly difficult. It's difficult to make even semi-emergency appointments. Their follow-up system does not work and takes weeks. I do not recommend Optum. My experience with this office before Optum took over was fine. However, since they took over, working with Optum is incredibly frustrating.
