I started banking with Bay Cities National Bank in Redondo Beach in 1985. Bay Cities became Opus Bank which then became Pacific Premier. I've stayed with this organization because representatives (managers and tellers, alike) have always been professional and personable. The online banking is easy to use.

Don't bring cash and everything is fine. They want wire transfer, direct deposit, of check. NO CASH.

Christine is the best! I had some issues resulting from the theft of mailed checks, and she was there very step of the way closing the account, opening a new one, and handling several resulting issues. Always friendly, patient & knowledgeable; she made a difficult situation a little easier. I followed Christine from another bank, and glad I did.

Not the friendliest bank in Redondo Beach. The manager can't even crack a smile or even look you straight in the eyes. The only people who have ever been nice are the men who unfortunately never stay too long. It doesn't surprise me that there is never anyone in there. The only reason I go there is because it is so close to me. But I don't know if that's a good enough reason.

Man. This used to be a really friendly bank. Jaymes was awesome as well as all the tellers. Super friendly when I first opened account. I pulled the plug and moved over to Kinecta in December after about a year or so of personal changes. Idiot me should have printed my statements for 2017 before closing my account for taxes. I called corporate a couple times. First time they transferred me to this bank (where I opened my account) to obtain my statements. Manager said that it would be a $5 fee to print each statement ($5 x 12=$60). She made it seem that it would be a process to research them. I said I'd seek other options. I scoured my emails--no statements (I went wireless, so they were also never mailed to me.) My account was closed, so I couldn't get them online. I called corporate. I had no choice but to pay for them through the branch. For some reason, both the number to the branch they gave and the one online was disconnected. After a few frustrating attempts, I made corporate transfer me. The branch manager told me I'd have to come in to pick them up (they couldn't email me a pdf file) printed. Originally, she said it would take a couple of days--than backtracked that I could pick them up that afternoon. I go to the branch. My statements were ready for me in a manila folder. I tell the teller I was interested in possibility opening another account. The teller went to talk to the manager about giving me a discount. I got $10 off. When I went to pay with my debit card, he said they only take cash. He went back to the manager (the same lady btw I talked to on the phone). She told me I have to pay cash. A little pissed, but luckily my bank was across the street. I came back with cash and the teller wasn't going to issue me a receipt. I wasn't leaving without a receipt (another tax write-off). The manager came out and hand-wrote on an a generic Opus receipt. Anyway, if this bank is sweating over $50 for no more than 24 pieces of printed paper and a manila folder...they got bigger issues.
