We went for lunch the day after Valentine's Day. There are a lot of tempting choices but we settled on Mr. Franks chicken salad. Our waiter and Mr. Franks advised us it was special and not very spicy. Well it was fantastic. The chicken was very crispy and not spicy at all. We had Mumm's Cuvée Napa Brut to top off our lunch. We go way back with Mr. Franks from his days at Chez Melange and he spent time with us which we loved.

The food, drinks, bartender were all very good. The only feedback I would give is there should have been another bartender or bar back as the bartender was slammed. That comes down to management and not the service, other than that, everything was great.

It was an enjoyable evening. It was a birthday dinner. The only suggestion I would make is maybe have a complimentary birthday dessert that was not just 2 small scoops of vanilla ice cream with sprinkles. Other than that we totally enjoyed our evening with family!

My wife ordered the clam chowder. The soup was good but for $14 the bowl was relatively small. I ordered the NY strip. The steak was excellent but again a small portion. The creme Brule was excellent. Overall the food was good but overpriced.

Sitting on the patio at a fire pit made our night feel so special. Trent our waiter was so friendly and attentive. He explained the menu so well and had us convinced that everything tasted amazing. Our dinner choices all tasted perfect.

The service at the hotel was extremely friendly(aside for the restaurant "sea level", see my reviews statement for that restaurante! All in all the I would love to come back to this hotel in the future, maybe try out a different location. The best and my most favorite enjoyable moments was in the tub, that was located on our private balcony. The tub is outside people!!! Boutique hotel in Redondo with another location in Manhattan Beach. Stayed here with my family and they gave us a handicap suite for some reason, although the only thing that made it different was that there was no step into the shower. There was some confusion around the resort fee but essentially we got charged $250 upon check in, of which $160 comprised of the $40 per person resort fee, $80 for overnight valet for one night for two cars, and taxes. Valet parking is mandatory and their closest street spots that aren’t metered are about a 15-20 minute walk. When we checked out, one car had to pay in cash for the partial valet fee while the other car got the fee tacked onto the final charge. They do have beach equipment and bikes you can rent, but we mostly hung at the pool. The pool was a bit disappointing as it was really small and there was no hot tub. There were lounge chairs that you can walk up to as well as bigger couches with tables that you could reserve. The pool guy was nice and brought us water bottles as it was a hot day.In terms of the room we had a lot of space and the beds were comfortable. We were able to get extra pillows and dental kits from housekeeping. For each day that you didn’t do cleaning, they donate a portion for environmental causes. There’s a restaurant downstairs and you get a $10 credit for dinner through the hotel if you eat there. There’s a mini fridge filled with drinks for purchase but we were able to fit some leftovers in there.

Wow, hidden gem! We had a great time hanging at the pool and on our balcony. Gotta get back for longer stay next time. Enjoyed the restaurant and bar... neat location.

Much needed getaway with my wife and pups. This hotel goes over the top with service to the guests and the pets, dog toys, free wine and a patio bathtub, how can it get any better! We will def be coming back!!!

Shade Hotel - Redondo Beach, CAI’m sure with a name like this, it has already been said, but this should actually be called Shady Hotel. My wife and I wanted to book a quick getaway out of town, away from the city life, somewhere that was along the coast. We decided to try Redondo Beach because we hadn’t been there yet.The thing that attracted us to this hotel certainly was not the high price per night ($400+), but it was their rating (now seems to be fabricated) and that they offer a bathtub on the balcony, overlooking the marina - sounds nice right? We were willing to pay a little extra for something that appeared on the website to be worth it.Well the outside bathtub was never used because they put us in a room on the ground level with the boardwalk of people walking past our patio.Sure the blackout curtain on the patio could have been closed, but then we lose the view of the marina, genius. Our attempt for getting away from the noise and the hustle and bustle of the city failed miserably at this hotel because the adjacent restaurant “Sea Level” had club music blasting in the evening until about 9:45 pm, which was easily heard through the thin doors and walls. You can also hear your neighbor’s tv or loud conversations through the walls as well, or the guests above you pounding on their floor with every step they take.Prior to the evening music from the restaurant, we were bombarded by the music, day drinking parties and conversations coming from the docked boats, and the marina foot traffic going in and out of the metal security gate that was constantly slamming closed - we never really enjoyed our peaceful and relaxing retreat we hoped for.To top it all off, this Shady Hotel “nickel and dimes” the guests $45/night for parking like they are some kind of Vegas resort, plus they charge an “Amenity Inclusion Charge” for amenities whether you use them or not - on top of all this, we never received the dinner credit for dining at the Sea Level restaurant, even though our food was billed to our room, and we never received the bottle of sparkling wine.I can honestly say I’ve had better overnight stays when staying at a Motel 6.

This place is beautiful. Do yourself a favor, pay the extra money and get a 2nd or 3rd floor room with a view. Sitting out on the balcony, watching the sunset over the marina. So peaceful.Rooms were nice, clean and the bed was extremely comfortable.Great stay in the South Bay!Walkability: Redondo Beach Pier 10 minute walk, Hermosa Beach 10 minutes the other direction. Lots to walk to.

We stayed one night but the staff was very friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a glass of wine and offered great amenities such as bikes for exploring. I didn't even mind the loud seals in the harbor arguing throughout the night, lol. There are two restaurants within a few feet of the hotel so it was not far from the airport and a very nice experience.Nearby activities: A nice sea food restaurant and a Cheesecake Factory in the immediate vicinity.Walkability: We walked around and explored although the hotel did offer bikes for useFood & drinks: We went to the seafood restaurant and they had a lovely selection however my niece's husband wanted to go to the Cheesecake Factory, which we did and had a delicious meal and dessert

I ate at the restaurant for breakfast. It was a great Breakfast Burrito with the salsas and sour cream. The Bloody Mary there was extraordinary. There are several Mimosa flavor options. One of the flavors is better than the others because it tastes more natural.Food & drinks: I ate at the restaurant for breakfast. It was a great Breakfast Burrito with the salsas and sour cream. Honestly? Don’t book this hotel. They charge $45 a night for parking that is VALET BY FORCE. So getting your car for anything was super annoying and inconvenient. There was also a $40 charge for amenities. The only amenities we used were the ones that are always free like the mini shampoos, mini lotions, etc. and there was NO indication that there was to be a charge for that. But also those items were NOT even WORTH $40 total.Everything else had a price pasted on it or had a booklet for with pricing. They also provide a "free" welcome drink and snack which. When asked if there was an alcohol-free option, there wasn't, not even a bottle of water. Instead we were told "Oh yeah I don't know why we don't".Also, getting the total and receipt was a hassle. They said they'd email it to us and nothing. called and somehow "We didn't have an email on file."The name is suiting, this place is a SHADY hotel.Go elsewhere.
