Tried to apply for a checking acct. Was told paystub wasn't enough proof of address. Submitted Utility. No reply. Called, was told someone in another dept would follow up, no reply. Left another message for a manager, no reply. How hard could it be to setup a new account?

I opened a bank account there 3 months ago, and I regularly go to the 2 locations in South Bay. I found the tellers are friendly and personable. There rarely is a line and they take their time with you to make sure you are helped.

THEY RIP YOU OFF AND DESTROY YOUR CREDIT!! Sadly, a NSF fee hit my account. I PAID the 35.00 fee. Only to find out SBCU reported a 35.00 NSF fee to the credit Credit Bureaus ANYWAY. I have been working on building my credit pre-pandemic and establishing banking relationships. What a complete surprise!I left work early on multiple occasions to come into the bank and not be heard. Ive left messages on FB instant messager, I hve disputed the amount with credit bureaus and someone has the nerve to respond from SBCU, left a negative review on SBCU page HOPING THEY would respond. Thinking SBCU would see the review and respond. I finally spoke with someone in the bank she said the Mgr would call me back, what a surprise no return call,Not only did they do absolutely NOTHING!!!! They don't return phone calls, no phone number to contact them they never answer,no nothing. This is the only negative on my credit file and its costing me future credit opportunities and high-interest rates .I will be filing a complaint and claim with the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) Trust Pilot and BBB, TWITTER, RIP OFF REPOR, Senator Ben Allen's Office, and CC Congressman Ted Lieu office. No customer should have to go through such extremes If you're considering this bank RUN. If you can get another bank do so; there are plenty of legitimate banks who will not ruin your credit report and call you back. This is a painful and stressful experience. I wish I never used this bank.

Two hours trying to get in contact with someone for help and no answer. This credit union can't handle their own customers . Please do no add customers if you can't service the ones you have. Expect no service once your a customer .....

I've been a member since 2019 . I can't get anyone on the phone to help me. Account online was disabled , can't get through to customer care without my membership number and noone answers the phone. I do not recommend this credit union

If you live in the south bay this is a must!! Best bank I’ve ever had. I’ve been with all the big banks but they don’t care and they’re horrible. But sbcu is always on top of it. Fast, efficient and the best most friendly customer service experience I’ve ever had. Usually I never have to go to the branch cause I can do everything through the online banking or over the phone. But if I do it’s the best experience always. Super warm happy welcoming! They remember me even if I haven’t come to the branch in a year! Very personalized super attentive. The branch is always so cute and cozy, none of that cold corporate feeling when you go to the big banks. They even offer me coffee or water if I’m going to be there for a few minutes. Literally best banking experience. I’m never switching banks, I hope I never have to.Thank you so much SBCU and all the great customer service representatives!!!

I absolutely loved my experience dealing with South Bay Credit Union. I've never been a member of a credit union before and the experience was absolutely excellent. The staff was super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process of applying for and receiving a vehicle loan. Cannot rate this experience highly enough. This is one super great organization. Many thumbs up!!!!!

Recently had a very rewarding experience with South Bay Credit Union. August last year I refinanced my automobile thru the credit union with Sarah Aguilar at 23%. I was financed thru the car dealer at 28%. Sarah told me if I brought my score up I could refinance again. I did just that and, to her word, she refinanced for me once again at 8%! I also had an unsecured loan I had taken for $4,300 at 23%. She refinanced that loan for me as well at 13%! The savings I will have over the percentages of both loans brought down to the incredible percentage will provide me with the opportunity of actually making payments and the majority of the payments going to the principal rather than 90% interest.Thank you Sarah Aguilar!!!!I would strongly recommend South Bay Credit Union to any and all. You get the personal care everyone deserves.

At one time this credit Union had good customer service. Has faltered severely in more recent times. Very slow if at all responses. Dated and cumbersome online banking experience. Poor management.
