“We selected this private banquet room for our South High Boys Water Polo Banquet and we could not have been any happier with that decision! The Event Coordinator, Dan, was so easy to work with and ensured that everything ran smoothly from setup until the final guests walked out the door. The room itself has been updated beautifully and we had plenty of space for our group of 90. There was a full kitchen for our caterer and a stage that worked well for our Awards Ceremony. Added bonuses were the game room that included billiards, a shuffleboard, a Ms PacMan and darts. Parents enjoyed the beautiful bar area as well. Overall, I'd highly recommend this spot for your next event! It's truly a hidden gem in the South Bay.”
“Great place for a wedding and reception! The food, DJ, and cake (all included) was amazing and valet parking was a great bonus. The cake is by Hawaiian Bakery and is the best wedding cake I have ever had. This place was my top pick for my wedding venue and everything went smoothly on my wedding day, probably thanks mostly to my wedding coordinator... which, if you are wondering you need... I would HIGHLY recommend, especially if you are like me and are planning a California wedding from another state. The white archway and chairs are included and they let you pick out your tablecloths and napkin colors, of which they have a good variety. For travelers, this venue is also conveniently located near LAX. The major wedding items not included in their package is photographer/videographer and florist.”
“The Village Garden is a unique and eclectic garden event space. I was able to attend a party at the garden while Big Al the Owl was in the garden. He hooted and was so beautiful, it was amazing to see him up close. We enjoyed attending the event in this unique space, it was memorable and really pretty. I visited again and walked thru the garden when the holiday lights were up, it was very cool to stroll thru. I want to take a mosaics class at the garden soon.”
“As the weather gets warmer and we approach the heart of the summer, I highly recommend you check out Paddle House when you're in the area. Newby to the sport? Not a problem! The staff is super friendly and will give you a tutorial of all you need to know before heading out to the marina. This includes your paddle, board, flotation decide, and life jacket. And in case you need a space to put shoes and other personal items away, they have lockers available for rent in the shop! The most important rule they have is to have fun or you'll be sent back out! HAHA But who wouldn't be able to have fun seeing the national state fish, seals in quantity, and plenty of birds. If you're lucky maybe even a whale!I recommend you go early and maybe not on a super sunny day so you can have the marina all to yourself and your party. It can be more tasking with boats entering and leaving to which you have to let through and such.”

“Really enjoyed my stay here! It was clean, bright and within walking distance to the pier and other dining options. There also was a bar with food and starbucks coffee which was convenient in the mornings. There also is a bike rental right across the street which you can take up the strand which is about a 5 minute bike ride away. Loooved the pool and hot tub as well, nice and usually not busy! Would definitely recommend.”
“It was a lovely place, the food was a bit cold but it still tasted nice. Our waitress that night was such a great help! She was very friendly and constantly kept checking up on us. I went to celebrate my friends birthday and they brought out a cute little dessert for her with a candle! The drinks were also great. My only complaint will be I wish there were more light. The fire pit lit up the space more but it was also windy and the fire kept almost catching my hand. Overall great”
“Excellent place for dinosaurs lovers and/or toddlers. It is only $8 per adult (kids under 2 are free) and you can spend all day there. The upper level has tons of bouncy castles and the lower level has mini golf and really cool dinosaur figures and related facts.
I recommend this place for kids ages 2/3 to 10 years old. The staff person mentioned how you can leave and come back in so you could spend all day here.”
“Stayed here 7/22-23
Pretty nice hotel. Rooms, hallways, elevator, and facilities are all clean. Elevator was fast altho when you exit to get to your room on the upper floors the area is a little cramp and made using the suitcase trolley a bit hard to use
Reception area has free water and a place to chill in the back
Wish I got the name of the guy who checked us in. Super friendly and personable. My friends and I talked about Buffy with him
Typical size for the room we got. Great view of the Pacific Ocean and near the Sea Lions (They bark all day and night so if that isn't for you book a room near the parking lot or someone else)
Hotel is close to the beach and Fisherman's Wharf. Approximately a 5 min walk to these places
Beds were very comfortable and shower was nice. Room only includes a refridgerator but for a 4 star hotel it should also have a microwave. Not sure why this has been the trend with hotels for the past 10 years but oh well!
Wish we got to keep the Sea Lion plush that was on our bed. You have to purchase it if you want him.
5/5 would love to stay here again!”
“A typical hotel room. It was clean. We had a limited view of the ocean and a good view of the car show in the lot across the street. We had no interaction with staff except when checking in. Sol restaurant was very quiet. The servers were very nice.”
“We hosted our daughter's quinceanera on the top floor of The Catalina Room and were happy with the venue and service. The booking process was straightforward, and The Catalina Room representatives were helpful and always available to help and answer any questions. The venue has a nice layout with a good amount of open space to accommodate our large guest count. We hosted about 230 guests. There were 24 round guest tables that fit a bit snug but with enough room to move freely. The evening of our event there were 2 event coordinators onsite who were very helpful and friendly. We booked security and bar service through the preferred vendor list, and we were happy with their services as well. Venue location also worked out perfectly as it was a short distance from the beach where we had our daughter's photoshoot. Onsite parking is very limited, but we made sure to inform our guests ahead of time and as far as we know, no one had any issues finding parking or using rideshare services. Overall, we were satisfied with The Catalina Room and would consider hosting future events there.”
