Mama needed new glasses unfinished they don't care about the costumers just about your money and you can tell by the way they act, talk, walk no Manners. The glasses were ready 3 weeks ago and no one seems to care to give you a call, no Smile, no eye contact and so on and on and on.......! There is one cool thing: The BK around the block.

For years I have gone to a local "specialty" optical store, and have been shocked by the prices for glasses and frustrated by the poor frame selection and the frequency with which the frames don't fit (I have a big head and need a long temple length). After getting my optical exam at my usual optical doc, I decided to instead give Costco Optical a try and I took my glasses Rx to Costco in Foster City. I found not one but two frames that fit me very well, and ordered two pair of glasses for much less than I would have paid for one set at my local optical store. The glasses were ready within a week and the quality is outstanding. Very impressed with the service, the selection and the price. I will definitely be filling my glasses prescription at Costco in the future!

Started walking back and forth and picked out glasses that I thought would be a good fit one morning at Redwood City Costco. I went for a Hugo Boss with an eye size of 52. I'm a tiny petite gal. Here comes my hero, Jeremy. He went over frame sizes with me, found out I needed something less than 52. I have a small face after all. Jeremy was very helpful, no upselling, just the facts. He did ask if I wanted another pair for 40% off but these are just back up for me. I mainly use contacts so I declined. this guys is very knowledgeable. He also measured the fit, made sure they don't fall off when I'm looking down, he made sure it's a good fit around my ears. I am very happy with the service I received. He was very helpful, I was in and out of there. It was very quick. Highly recommend!!! will Be my go to place for glasses! Thanks J!

Great service, professional and timely. Good for both glasses and contacts. I will go back. I think the person complaining about being put on hold for ten minutes is off base.

Be aware that Costco is not in network with VSP!!! In my case, unfortunately, none of my benefits will apply to purchases made here and similarly, the eye exam is completely out of network. I wish I had known this or been warned before my appointment! I specifically asked about VSP and told them I was insured by them, but they did not tell me that they were out of network. Super disappointing. That said, they have a very affordable selection of glasses and my eye exam was satisfactory, so I am giving them three stars.

I would give it 0 stars! Don’t come here to buy prescription glasses! They don’t do full refund, which they should always tell their customer before purchasing. And as well add on the receipt that they are charging you for your lens and frame separate. Will not be returning here to buy any glasses not happy with customer services. The lady was rude! And did not explain well. Because on my receipt no where it says they are charging for the lens(glass prescription part) it only says the glasses (frame) like it’s only says the brand of glasses your purchased. And also check before buying your pair of glasses else where. Which was my error, I could have bought my glasses else where for cheaper $170cheaper than here. Costco is not always the bargain which I thought it was. My glasses were $300 and else where $130 which is a rip off!!! Costco Vision center you should be specific on the receipt and put what you are charging! Like $90 for frame (based on what brand) $69 for lens (prescription). Because if I were to get my refund I would have gotten $199 and my frame with no lens and lose $100. Or pay for another pair plus $69 for the lens and get the difference. Which I didn’t not get any because I didn’t like their styles. The only reason I wanted to return my glasses was because they were heavy and hitting my cheeks and they couldn’t adjust them further. I recommend for you to go to LensCrafters they do full refund if your are not satisfied or 30 days guarantee to make you happy if you don’t like them. Also the customer service was horrible buy this young lady she didn’t even bother to help me find a pair of glasses. That’s how you know service is bad! DON’T COME HERE BAD SERVICE. She also seemed bother by how many questions I was asking. Because me as the consumer need to ask questions so I know what I’m getting. People should work here who want to make people happy with their purchase or else find another job if you don’t like working at a customer service job. It’s not that hard to find a job you like. Will not be coming here ever again!!!!! Very rude people.

She even answered all the questions we had. We also give 5 Stars to Jeremy. He was Very Knowledgeably and Provided Us with Important Information about Our new prescription. They were Pleasant to work with. Thank You to the both of them!

Jeepers I was in a pretty good mood this morning and decided to make the time to go and replace a pair of sunglasses that had broken. Costo Redwood City has been my place to go for that for several years. It was a quiet morning at the optical. I was the only person waiting so thought I ask if they were using the numbers yet? Employee named Jenny looks up and barks "What do you want?" Well good morning to you too! Jenny, with no name tag (had to ask her name), continued to bark at me about putting glasses I touched in a bucket so they could wipe them down. Ok. But why are you barking at me? I'd be happy to comply but just stop being so darn nasty Jenny. Jenny in Optical needs to either go home and go back to bed or take that customer service course over.

For the past 10 + years I have gone to EyeExam 2000/Lenscrafters due to my insurance and it was always a long, excruciating process. It is a cattle call there and it takes at least 2 hrs for the eye exam and contact lens/eye glass order process. So painful to deal with! I have dreaded it every 2 years. This year with no insurance, I decided to try Costco Optical. I wish I would have done this years ago. It was an easy, pain free process! They take one patient at a time so it goes rather quickly. Dr Luu was efficient, friendly and knowledgeable. She has been the ONLY dr who has been able to explain my dry eye problem. I highly recommend this Costco Optical.

Quality of lenses is horrible. I purchased three pairs of reading/computer glasses (progressive prescription). All pairs are showing sign of the coating coming off after ~12 months. I only ever used microfiber cloth for cleaning. Technician said no warranty and only option was to replace lenses (at about 65% cost of a new pair). I have a pair of similar glasses that is 13 years old and perfect except for minor scratches. Don't waste money here. Go to a business that specializes in glasses.

It was my second time here and Dr. Tran took care of my eye exam this time. Had no problem at all. She was courteous and professional.

Some reviewers don't seem to have done this before. Yes, if you go out of network you will have to submit your receipts for reimbursement. This is standard across medical, dental, and vision plans and has nothing to do with Costco. In fact, Costco makes it easier by printing the specific receipts you'll need. Any rating of Costco should be based on service, availability, friendliness, etc., not things out of their control.
