The hospitality was flawless until the last two mornings. I felt as if I wore out my welcome, was told not to take things from breakfast bar, a banana and a cinnamon roll, because cameras were watching. The last morning my husband was able to join for breakfast and we were questioned if he was our guest or with us, and we were rushed out. I stayed there the first 4 days immediately after a total knee replacement so I expected more fluidity from the entire staff.Disappointment was a word I didn't expect to use about this stay.

Many other hotels nearby provide a much better quality of service than the Redwood City Holiday Inn Express Hotel at the same price level. The hotel manager Eric Sandoval failed to assist an elderly woman in distress who had lost her only car key on his hotel property. The woman needed about an hour more to search for the lost key.The hotel manager later violated a promise to not charge her a late checkout fee.Do not believe any canned responses denying his lack of service is "not the norm" and that "staff is available 24/7 to help our guests with any issues that may arise"This hotel manager was on site less than 3 to 4 hours per day, and whenever he was present was ineffective.Safety: relatively unsafe for women or elderly people compared to other hotels nearbyNoteworthy details: hotel manager Eric Sandoval effectiveness limited because he was on site at the hotel only 3-4 hours per day

I came to Redwood City for a funeral and this hotel exceeded my expectations!!! It has everything you need and is very quiet considering you are on El Camino. It was a great price as well. I highly recommend it!

The hotel is in a good area, close to restaurants, gas stations, and stores. It's clean and the staff is friendly. The room was nice and the bed was super comfy. I would recommend it.

Wrongfully charged me $400. I had called this hotel and spoke to someone over the phone asking if they had an open room for one night they said they did I said Great I will be over shortly to book the room. They took my credit card info saying it would be a one dollar transaction and that’s just to ensure that the card is good. They took my name and email and they made no mention of a cancellation policy they made no mention that I would actually be reserving a room over the phone. I called them back because I had found a hotel closer to the event which I was attending and they said that they would charge me the full nightWhich due to the conference in the area that I was attending would be $400. I informed the front desk that I made no reservations, and that I was only told that the one dollar transaction would be to verify my card and then I would not be charged anything until I got to the hotel management has been dodging me fusing to address this issue month later I filed a complaint with IHG. They’ve been having an open ticket number since October and tell has not responded to that issue with IHG which they are mandated to do.

Rooms are great and of good size. Gym area too small. But overall very good stay. Will be back to this

This place is somewhat better than having a colonoscopy, but not by much. This hotel was, rather easily, amongst the worst I have experienced in a long time. The area immediately surrounding the hotel is rough (putting it nicely); certainly nowhere I would feel comfortable walking outside at any time of day. This hotel has (at the time of this review) no hot water. I stayed at this hotel for a weeklong business trip, notified staff multiple times, and it was never corrected. Cold showers suck, and they suck even more when you get them for a week.Housekeeping did an okay job—until they did not. I left early one morning for a long day of meetings and returned to the hotel at 9pm. I walked into my room to see it had been ransacked. Housekeeping stripped the bed, removed all the towels, and did nothing else.It was very nice (not) coming back to my room after a long day with no bed to sleep on, and no ability to shower. Staff attempted to correct these issues, but you can only do so much when someone ruins a stay like that.Breakfast was okay—it is your standard lower-end hotel stuff. Location is decent for Stanford, Menlo Park, and relevant tech companies. In summation, this place is somewhat better than having a colonoscopy, but not by much. I would recommend finding another hotel, unless you are into that kind of thing.

This is for my stay on June 13, 2023. I had another appt at the Redwood City, Stanford Hospital. As before I was very pleased with my stay. The room, customer service, and breakfast were excellent. As before I needed to recover and sleep a few hours before traveling home. They graciously accommodated my stay by extending it an additional 3 hours. Thank you very much.Rooms: Clean and niceLots of restaurantsNearby Stanford, Redwood City, and KaiserFood & drinks: All prices and varities

Wouldn’t follow their own policy to reimburse stay after cancellation. $1,200 lost. No compromise from their side while I’m sure they sold the room to other guests… basically thieves….

This hotel is clean, convenient, great part of Redwood City. The front desk agent who checked me in Nathan was super friendly and upbeat. The breakfast in the morning is also a big plus. I will definitely be returning to this location. Comfortable beds.

I had just had surgery to find out I have cancer and was recouping in bed as it was a massive surgery. I have a service dog which I pre notified the hotel of, signed the papers etc. The manager, Edgar, about 4 days in, decides to barge into our room while I'm in bed in my pajamas and claim that they need to clean the room because it's the law. My husband had been cleaning the room and even taking out the trash himself, to the cart each day to prevent any build up. My husband knows he was lieing and simply wanted to barge into our room! I felt EXTREMELY VIOLATED! He then tried to tell my husband that my service dog, who is a beautiful AKC registered Champaign lab trained for service and was by my side the entire time, had to leave the room while the maid cleaned. We know the law and we refused as that would put my life in danger! This Edgar manager dude was a complete.... Very bad word! The maid didn't have much to clean because my husband, like I said had been cleaning a little every day. Long story short, I've called the corporate office and have yet to hear back. They need to fire Edgar and give Amaya the management position. She was very sweet and has been both times. He made her call our room to let us know he was coming up. She did everything she could to calm me down but I no longer felt safe there! It was too late in the day to move to a new hotel so we stayed that night and I woke up in a sweat and panic from nightmares that he was coming through the door! Never again will we stay at this hotel! And he WILL BE SUED FOR THIS!

We booked here May 1st Thru 4th, while I was being seen at Stanford University hospital. I needed a nice comfortable place to stay for all my appointments & testing. 1st of all the housekeepers were amazing, they were on it every day. The staff at the front desk were very helpful, professional, & kind (both the gentleman & ladies). Beds & pillows were comfy. Spacious rooms, sitting area & desk. I needed a handicap accessible room. They also made sure I had a small shower chair. Only cons were; 1) the smoke detector battery decided it wanted to die at 230 am on our 1st night there. 2) bathrooms were kind of small with not much counter space. But other than that, we will definitely be back, and I am still giving them 5 stars. PS they have a pretty good (free) continental breakfast. Thank you to all the staff that was so helpful and kind. Oh I almost forgot FREE PARKING! You can't beat that !!!

This is a nice hotel. I've stayed here twice, and in the exact same room. The rooms are really clean, the housekeepers are very nice. The Breakfast is also very good, there is variety. I will be staying there again in the upcoming couple of weeks.

I'm here now (2-23-22) Our power has been out for three days and so I have had to take the reservation day by day which can be very frustrating if they have to change your room and move you around. The Whole staff has been EXTREMELY ACCOMMODATING to my family and I. They are booked pretty full but were able to shift a couple of people so that we could keep our room Day by Day. The prices are reasonable and the room was nice and clean. Their breakfast was clean, fresh and yummy for the Free breakfast (They have Biscuits and Sausage Gravy, Scrambled Eggs (Eggs were well scrambled and not browned) And bacon or sausage with muffins and things. I really just can't say enough about staff though. I really didn't want or need any hassles trying to keep my family safe and warm until the power came back on. They totally took care of us and were super friendly and understanding. Highly recommend...

This is our second time staying here. We come here when we have gymnastics meets for my daughter and early sessions. LOVE this place. Not only is it really clean, but the front desk is always very polite and helpful, the rooms are modern and for the most part is it's pretty quiet so it's not like a bunch of noisey families running rampant or screaming. Outside can get a little loud but not much. It is also very convenient because it's around a lot of things like downtown, and there's a Whole Foods down the way. The beds are really comfy so you get s great nights sleep and there is complimentary breakfast which is also very convenient and helpful for these early mornings. Will always come back here whenever we need to stay in Redwood City.
