They usually have a decent selection even though it's an outdated store. They have frequent sales and the staff is always nice.

I would not recommend this location to anybody. This locations customer service is the poorest customer service I've seen in a long time. When I asked for help to find a specific item, the woman dismissed me and treated me as a child. She told me to look it up myself and said "sorry" rather passive aggressively as if she couldn't help me at all. I wanted to tell her I didn't have Wi-Fi inside the store to look up the item but I saw how quickly she was to get back to chatting with her other coworker that I just left. I had already looked through each isle having to do with those tools so last resort asking for help. Im not sure what her business was with me, but she didn't attempt to find the product I was looking for nor lead me to the area where these tools would be. I told her it's for rugs and you hold it in your hand (has yarn through it). Told her it's "rug tufting." I told her I could not find the tool already, and she even gave me attitude about "well if you find the product number... than I can help you". I was trying to explain to her that I didn't have WIfi to look it up but she was just more interesting in talking to her coworker. Found myself extremely perplexed and I've worked in customer Service too so I just thought it was worth mentioning that I know what a "bad day" may feel like, "busy day" too but girl there was only two other people in that store. There was no rush nor reason to not to help me out. Ugh I suppose Amazon it is, literally never go as it is in a while and decided I'd go in person to shop and realized how accessible Amazon can be compared to these stores. (fyi She had a high pitched voice and short dirtyblonde hair. No hate to her or her job just unfortunate how passive aggressive you were for whatever reason)

Google search posted store hours open till 9pm but when i got there at 7pm there was a sign that said closed at 6pm. I went the next day right after work at 5:45 and I had the fabric i needed cut in my hand by 5:52 (I know cause i looked at my watch), but the cashier said the cutting counter ends at 5:30pm. That should be stated on the sign. So stupid! The cashier was a bit rude too! So now i'm just ordering it online. I recommend you all do the same cause the customer service is so rude (at least the cashier on 11/16/23 at 5:52pm.

Why on earth are they closed at 6pm???!!!!!! I went to go pick up my order and they were closed right on the dot at 6pm on a Thursday night. I looked at the hours posted on the door and it says they close at 6 pm everyday! I'm floored... how do they do that? I still love this store tho.

The Redwood City location of Joann Fabric is one of my favorite locations because the employees are friendly and courteous. I mainly buy yarn and they're always pretty well stocked, with usually one brand or other on sale. Purchasing via the app offers coupons, a big plus. Their curbside pickup is pretty efficient, though once in a while I'll have to walk in and get it if they're busy.

Frustrating place. Website said they had an item I needed in stock, none there! Not enough clerks to check out, coupons are frustrating!

We stopped by Joann for a quick glance of what they had and were pleasantly surprised by the wide range of variety they offer with reasonable prices. Also, the staff at the checkout counter was very nice and friendly. Will come back for sure sometime!

This review is for the Redwood City, CA store. The good news is that my pick-up order is always ready when I arrive. The bad news is that there is no employee stationed at the front registers, and it usually takes 10-15 minutes for one to arrive, even if you press the "Service" button. I can usually see my order sitting in the cage and have been tempted to just fetch it and leave, but don't want to be accused of shoplifting. (The store in Mountain View, CA that I used before it closed last year was much better at having an employee available promptly for pick-up orders.)

Their online inventory status is fairly accurate for yarn. I mostly purchase yarn at this location and it is fairly well stocked, even during sales. Restocking does occur frequently and the website is updated.Staff are always friendly. The checkout line can get pretty long sometimes, but weekday evenings are always fairly quick.
