The closing hours are very early. If you have a business and you need to store your equipment at the end of the day, this is not a good place for you. Also there holiday hours are not posted. So you got a guess whether you can have access or not?.

Beware of untimely and excessive rent raises that could happen more than once in less than a year. $10-50 would be more reasonable, but on both occasions (within 9 months of renting the unit) we've had ours raised between $150-200/month. The only way to get these increases waived or reduced is to "apply for a rent decrease" (which is silly/whyy?). When you're paying movers $$$ to help you move, the last thing on your mind is having your storage units rent increase drastically. Something to consider if you sign up for the web rates.

My partner and I rented a unit from the Redwood City-East Bayshore location because our unit was flooded out at the San Carlos location. Juan was the one who set us up with a great rate of $75 plus $15 for the insurance with Orange Door/Sedgwick. Not long after, we reported to Juan that the board above the door fell off. He said he would make work order and have it fixed. Since the incident, I would drive to RWC from SF every Friday just too check on my unit and to see if the PROMISED repair was made. Every week NO PROGRESS. So Juan gave me his boss' name and number. I left at least 9 messages and I did not receive not one call back from this so called boss or Corporate Office.A week later I receive a call from Manny and he told me to come check my unit because he thinks my unit was burglarized. Come to find out my unit was entered thru the top where the missing board should be but never was fixed. My unit was exposed for over 2 months and eventually someone climbed over the door and stole thousands of dollars from us. Manny told me to file a police report so I immediately filed one with RWCPD. When the officer came to make the report, he stated to me that their department would get calls often for burglaries in the past but was amazed why the management didn't install cameras when this is a ongoing thing at this location. I also filed a claim with orange door for the incident. Can you believe that the agent denied my claim due to the fact that my unit had no force entry! My response was, "of course there wasn't because they climbed over the door cause the top of my unit was open." The still denied my claim. So I filed a SMALL CLAIMS with the court of San Mateo County Superior Court for my loss. Public Storage has not attempted to call or discuss their mishandling and neglect to repair my unit in a timely fashion. The nerve of the management at this location. I see that a lot of customers that rent here gets ripped off in some way, but they still don't install security cameras. Only at the front gate and breezeway between buildings. Smells a little fishy to me. Bottom line is my court date I set for December 2023 and my partner and I are ready for the battle in court. Lastly, the insurance is garbage and isn't in place to protect your belongings they just want your money. THINK TWICE BEFORE RENTING HERE!!

Be aware of their sneaky business and pricing practices! My rate has moved up after some months without any advance notice. There is a market for a fare storage biz.

I was never sent the gate code or building code. Front desk seemed inconvenienced to look up my info in the computer. I wasn't told I would need to walk up the stairs to the second floor to access the elevator. The gate was also locked after 4:50pm on a Saturday.

Juan was very attentive and knowledgeable, he took the time to show us around the facility and we were able to use our own lock. I’ve been impressed with the service so far.

The manager Juan has issues and locks people out whenever he feels like it. Very unprofessional and the corporate office allows it. I would not trust these people with your belongings. THEY DONT CARE!!!

Storage place in the Bay area, redwood City, my unit was inside a large building and climate controlled, 5x10 unit is 185 a month... Very safe and secure... The only thing I wasn't very happy with is the price. If you have possessions that cannot be exposed to heat or the elements this is the place for you

Would avoid, last 4 out of 5 times visiting this location including my very first scheduled appointment there was no one around during open business hours. Today I literally saw someone walk through the door to the area adjoining the main office and the doors were locked. So I knocked several times and waited for about ten minutes as I was yet again ignored.

Great rates, great location, and nice amenities. But what makes this place special is Juan’s professionalism and friendliness. Very glad I’ve rented here!

tldr; Theft in my storage unit. Seems like a recurring issue for older customers as well that they don't have any interest in solving. No help from the facility to provide camera footage. I rented a 5x5 unit here because it was on discount (in retrospect, it all makes sense). 2 months in, I get a call from Juan that the lock seems to have been tampered with. I had to get off my work day to come in and see that the unit has been broken into. The lock intact but was facing inwards. The clasp attached to the door itself was broken. I opened the door to find 8 boxes - worth few thousand dollars - missing. One of the boxes contained precious memorabilia, cards & tokens from family & friends - that was stolen as well. Above all else, losing that box was heart breaking. I asked how he discovered about the lock being broken and Juan told me they are supposed to do daily checks of the locks. I asked for 2 days worth of footage and it seemed like he already knew nothing was going to come off it - he said they don't have cameras in that aisle, no alarms on the units and asked me to file a police report. I asked him how often have there been thefts and he just waived it off says it doesn't happen too often. Next day, I drove back to file the police report with Redwood City PD. Office Wolfe came in to confirm the specifics of the incident. He asked me for details on what items were stolen, when I accessed it before etc. He confirmed that this facility is notorious for thefts - it's a weekly occurrence. There are other reviews that confirm the same story as I went through. It's a pity I didn't read through them before picking this location.

I wish I could give negative ratings to this storage facility. TERRIBLE storage facility! There was a theft in my storage unit and irreplaceable items were gone. They don't have cameras or security alarms for the facility and they don't intend to add it to stop the frequent theft.
