The guys at the meat station literally ignore you. I've been standing here for over 10 minutes now, they clearly see me and yet Noone approaches. I'm late for my meeting and will leave soon.

I can see why this location literally has the lowest rating in the area. First of all, the staff don't say anything when old men are walking around the store without a mask on-- that is just completely irresponsible and unsafe. Also, the staff are all middle aged caucasian ladies who have nothing better to do than be discriminatory and condescending to younger and minority customers. I have witnessed and experienced this countless times. The older Middle Ages cashiers who work during the day often waste their time flirting with old men or talking to their friends and hold up the line and then give you attitude for no reason. I would never shop here again I hope it goes out of business or that they institute some reform soon. Have never been this disgusted by a store in my life.

NOT SAFE, many customers not wearing a mask throughout the store. The staff don't say anything and also usually are rude to younger/minority customers. Please support GOOD businesses like Costco and the Mexican markets across the street.

I came in for a second dose of a covid vaccine. The pharmacy folks had the clients line up around an island of the meat department. Some guy from the meat department came out with a rack of meat . The guy very abruptly told us to go line up elsewhere. The people who I was standing next to went to the other side of the aisle, then the guy told us to go elsewhere. Then he places 2 or 3 meat packs on a shelf and leaves a mess of people lined up for a covid shot. What a rubbish way to treat your customers. 1. This is guaranteed income considering that people are scrambling for vaccinations. 2. Once we are all vaccinated people will go camping and bbq ing, so this guy should be happy we showing up. 3. How unpatriotic, we are trying to return to normal. What a rubbish experience.

This is the worst store I've every been to. They lock one entrance so you can only come in from one side (which is a fire hazard!) but then sometimes they change it to the other side of the store. There are homeless everywhere, begging at the entrances, in the parking lot, and in the store. The staff checking out (Janet) are especially rude. Smashing my roses onto the scanner after refusing to use the hand-held scanner she had used with the customer before me. The check stand belts are disgusting - looking like they haven't been cleaned since the beginning of covid-19. The only customer service person that is nice is Teri. She is a gem. I will never shop at this store again. We go to Whole foods and Trader Joe's now.

This safeway store has been authorized to administrator the covid vaccine and is illprepared to carry out the task. In speaking with the pharmacist, they only have one person administering the vaccine. The line of people consists of the elderly and the sick. No accommodations have been made to help these people who are being asked to stand in line for up to 1.5 hours eventhough they have appointments. If the store is not able to efficiently administrator the vaccine they should not be allowed to provide this service. Shame on them for not being prepared!

If I could give 0 stars I would HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!! I was with my friend at the Floral Department and asked the lady Jenna to merge two bouquets into one which she seemed very unhappy about doing. When it was time to pay I was going to pay with a hundred dollar bill and she said "I don't have change for 100" in the nastiest way. So I took out my card to pay, while I was doing that she rolled her eyes while I was getting it out. I don't care if you are having a bad day that is not the way to attend customers, leave your bitchy attitude out of work:)

I just went to Safeway to pick up some groceries. While I was shopping I thought I would get some hot fresh French bread. They have a guaranteed slogan " if it's not hot at 5 it's free". At the checkout stand I informed checker my bread was not hot and I should get it for free. She said sure "no problem " as I was walking out of store to the car I noticed she had charged me for the bread. My husband proceeded to go to the car and I went to customer service desk. I had the receipt w me so I informed the person his name was "Alberto" that my bread was supposed to be free. He said "where's the bread". I told him my husband had it and took it to the car, and I just wanted a price adjustment. He said " I can't do that w out the bread". I said you want me to walk all the way to my car for this when I have the receipt right here?" He said "yes". I walk to the car and grabbed the French bread, when I got back to the counter he looked at me and went in the back room. He came out after a few minutes and snatched the bread from me. At that point I told him I no longer wanted the bread and was not happy about his attitude. He gave me back my money and still had an attitude w me. I asked to speak to the manager and of course the manager was on break. I asked him what his problem was and he said "you had a problem with me so that's why I have an attitude". I had a problem because instead of giving me a price adjustment he made me go get it so he could see if it was cold, like I was lying about a two dollar loaf of bread. ALBERTO FROM SEQUOIA STATION SAFEWAY NEEDS TO GET ANOTHER JOB!! Not working with the public!! HE HAS NO CUSTOMER SERVICE QUALIFICATIONS!!! Send him back to the computer to do his customer service skill training again!!!

I was at Safeway today, and this sweet, sweet checker name Teri, waited on me. This man in front of me got so irate with her, started screaming at her, and swearing at her and calling her bad names. She got scared and called security. He got removed from her line and was checked out some where else. He came back and got her name to write a bad revue on yelp, so I am writing her a good one, when she checked me out, she was shaking and crying, she wanted to go home. I thanked her for working the front lines, I am not sure she heard me because she was so shaken up. She thinks she will be reprimanded by her boss. Why she did nothing wrong. She was great. Terri, I hope u see this. God bless u, for all u do and working the front lines for us. Sir I hope u see this too. Shouting and getting upset with her, was not right. We are all going through this together. It is hard on all of us. Let's work together, not break each other down.

My Mother was craving some crab so I went to the meat counter to ask for assistance. Michael, the Safeway assistant was friendly and offered to help. He even allowed me to video tape a short video where he said "Hey Mom, your son is bringing you some fresh crab, already cooked!" Michael was friendly and he clearly demonstrated what it means to provide a customer friendly, positive experience! It's because of people like Michael that makes me shop at the Redwood City Safeway

My favorite grocery store, bar none. Because of the great cashiers: Marlon Dice Maria Eric Irma And I so miss Marina, RIP. They make grocery shopping an enjoyable experience, they're always friendly, smiling, expert at what they do, and thankful. I prefer to bag my own groceries, to sort them in a particular manner and also to give them a break. Please don't redevelop this store!

I've been shopping at this Safeway for years, and am DONE!!Prior to CV-19 they didn't provide any disinfectant wipes, the plastic bottles were always empty, I shopped there at least 3x a week.CV-19 comes around they start following guidelines of disinfecting carts, plenty of wipes to use while entering/exiting, BUT NO MORE, they have gone Ghetto, disgusting garbage piled up next to the carts. Unsanitary.I have been hit on several times in the store, buy homeless ppl asking for money, one guy walked right up to me, put his face up to my ear, asking for money, Safeway continues to allow the behavior. There was one incident where a homeless woman & deli clerk were arguing & yelling at one another, the deli clerk went after the woman, as though she was ready to fight her, other clerks literally held back the clerk. Not safe, not sanitary, not acceptable.

It's Safeway. Doesn't go above and beyond what you expect from a giant grocery chain but likewise doesn't fall short. Employees have always been polite. Lines can be long, again, giant chain.
