“It was my first time here since I needed to pick up a book that was nowhere to be found in the South Bay Barnes and Noble Bookstores. So the drive was not too bad going to and from there but I was still feeling a bit anxious. Once I arrived, parking was so easy since there were plenty of parking spaces in that area in front of the store. The wait in line didn't take long at all and the one who I spoke with over the phone before coming here excitedly waved my book in the air indicating he had it when he saw me lol while he was still in the middle of ringing someone else up. He continued to remain professional though even after it was my turn and I approached the register. I was so happy the bookseller P. saved it for me since it was the last copy. Mr. P was genuinely kind and very mindful, provided great customer service, very personable. I liked and appreciated that very much. So even though I don't live close to this store, I still came and was treated very kindly the whole time that I was here. Perhaps I can come visit again someday.”

“Hands down the most awesome store in San Carlos. They have a little bit of everything! Great place to go for gift shopping for people of any age. They have kids toys and books, they have jewelry and various cool things from different countries for adults, books for adults, they have eco-friendly kitchen stuff, chocolates and teas from different countries. They also have tea in the store to try (towards the back).. what a nice touch! I'm all about supporting local! I got a sponge cloth that is biodegradable and saves 15 rolls of paper towels for 8 bucks (same product was just advertised to be on Instagram for $35).”

“Excellent toy store! Not your ordinary toys and certainly not the experience you would have shopping on your own on Amazon. I was visiting from the east coast and friends recommended this shop. I bought so many great gifts for my little girl. Please visit, you won't be disappointed.”

“It's a lego store! The only thing not to love is sticker shock for the uninitiated, but once you buy your first ridiculously overpriced box of plastic bits...you'll be hooked and looking for more!”

“Love this fun store. They have a lot if designs and themes you could ask for. They may have a few plain pairs but mostly fun prints. The store carries souvenirs too, stickers, dog magnets, mood rings, bracelets, necklaces and slipper socks. A must in your shopping agenda”

“Our favorite place in downtown Los Altos. They have also a story time Sundays at 10am which my daughter loves. Next to it there’s Manresa Bread where you can have fresh bread and coffee while you’re sitting outside. Can’t get any better!”

“The Reading Bug is a gem of a store in downtown San Carlos. Family-run, super knowledgeable staff, and a colorful selection of books, toys, games and more. It's a fun store to browse around and they put on free weekly storytime events for your littles. They also have a very popular subscription box. Bezos doesn't need more of your money - support your local bookstore instead!”

“Wow, they have so many games there, and the salesman could tell us about each game. I loved the variety, and commentary he would give us, to help you choose the best games to buy. Some prices comparable to Amazon, so it's nice that you get the live review before buying.”

“I love everything about this place. Non-toxic and organic everything! I know I can always find something for my daughter. They have clothes, books, toys, and furniture. Just a heads up, it is $$$$ (and yes, four dollar signs); it is easy to spend $$$$ on a few things. Whenever Christmas or my daughter's birthday comes up, I know where to go. The reason for two stars? Limited on what they offer and parking. Definitely take a visit if you have a upcoming baby shower or a birthday party for kids!”

“A cute toy store in the heart of Downtown Burlingame. They have a good selection of stuffed animals, board games, puzzles, legos, figurines and a lot more. The store is a little cramped for adults, but it’s paradise for children. There’s a train tracks displayed near the cashier to keep little kids busy while parents move around.Free gift wrapping service. Good prices for most items.”

“These guys are cool. Hard to find because there's no sign with the name of the store so be aware of that. They have a lot of funkos. Can be high mark up on things. Inventory changes every week so that's cool.”

“I was putting together a cosplay for San Francisco Pride 2023, and I was able to find most of the basic elements of the costume at Diddam's! They seem to have a decent spread of costumes and accessories year-round. The store managers were very helpful, were able to quickly tell me what items they did and didn't have, and helped me find some things I wasn't able to find on my own.”

“Finally a Five Below on the Peninsula. Looks like most things are $5 or below per the name. I'm not too sure about the electronics and some other stuff lasting all that long but fun if you want to browse and pick up a few tchotchkes for the house.I picked up the Riza Hawkeye Funko and some makeup. A lot of the makeup is similar to what I'd see in a Dollar Tree (e.g. LA Girl) so perhaps some of this stuff might be slightly over priced for what it is ($3-$4 vs $1.25)?They also had some travel sized goodies so I picked up a Method body wash for the road for $3.They have self check out in front. Oddly half the of the registers were closed though...”

“Since I been having to learn the area, especially coming from San Diego, they really are top #1 on my list for party planning supplies and all your party needs. And prices are very reasonable and if you have 5 star rewards you can get discounts for shopping with them. For my 1st time I got my 5$ discount and I had a great experience. I really recommend it. It's what I'm used to back home and better than party city prices when it comes to plates and table covers and cups.”

“Never really done the Build-A-Bear thing, but my daughter want to try it and said, sure. Good news is that's it's a very positive experience. Bad news like everything else these days, is that it's expensive. They are going to get your money for sure. Still, my daughter was really happy at the end, so it was worth it. It's not just bears you can build here, but dogs, cats, and other creatures. It has a wide selection of creatures, so that was also pretty good.”
