I would not recommend this location to anyone. Customer service is terrible, unprofessional and distasteful in addition to being dishonest about what is available and what is not. Employees in person and when calling this location is very unpleasant to deal with. Management is also terrible and unknowable of how to handle or manage this location. This particular location needs an investigation to reconsider their employees working here and their services will be reported to the Better Business Bureau.

Really slow and inefficient. Parking lot difficult to navigate with lots of large vehicles. Took forever to drop everything off. Even with a long line almost out the door, one of the two cashiers left and never came back.

All the people at U-Haul Redwood City (Woodside /El camino) is very helpful and friendly especially the manager and the ladies behind the counter . I have rented a lot of U-Haul's in different locations but I keep coming back to the Redwood City one. If you wanna stress free rental experience, check this location out.

So.. I'm not going to fully go in on this spot. Lining up the truck, customer service picking up, returning truck, easy as pie. But I've NEVER been to any vehicle rental spot where you pick up a truck and it's dang near on "E".. That was a new one for me..

Be sure to return your rental with the same amount of gas that you picked it up with, or else they will overcharge you for gas. Jorge and Jose were really nice and helpful but didn't tell me about the gas Shame on me for not reading the contract

This location rent uhauls that break down. They bill you for roadside assistance which will not even answer the phone to assist. Despite providing a broken down U-Haul, and billing for roadside assistance that WOULDNT EVEN pick up the phone, they refused to provide a refund. The staff here are beyond d*** dumbs that do not know what they are doing. Go elsewhere.

Don't be bothering these people with your petty little rental issues. They have FAR more important things to do than attend to the likes of you. And don't be thinking that just because you meticulously listed everything you need and when you need it in your reservation that it will all be ready for you on time. It is up to YOU to make sure you get everything you reserved and that it will be available on the day you need it. That's your problem, not theirs.

Our truck came with literally no gas lol Location is in a sketch part of RWC, idk why but I didn't feel safe getting into their parking lot The protective clothes we rented were nicely folded though. If you're checking self serve, note that you're totally in your own here in trying to locate your truck in a sea of the same trucks. Also if you're checking out after hours the instructions are a little confusing. The key drop off is not actually a protected box or anything with a key and lock code, it's literally a slot in the glass in front of their store lol I walked all over trying to find a more secure place to return keys but nope they're just laying on the floor.

If you use this service arrange it well in advance, schedule your pick up time at least a few hours before you actually need it and expect them to still F it up. They will also rent out the same vehicle on a daily rate four or five times a day with no inspection in between - so you do want to make sure you note any damage when you get it. This used to be a good company.

They do fill up Propane tanks very quickly They charged me $5.17+ Tax per Gallon If your tank is really empty, it will take 4.3 gallons. You may be better off exchanging the tank at Ace or Home Depot $24 There are also free home delivery service from some companies like www.cynch.com These are $24+ tax , but you need to wait two days at least

We made a reservation for a 26' truck for two days, because we were moving more than an hour away. Five days before the rent date, U-haul called us to tell us that we cannot rent this truck for two days. And not because the truck was not available, but because this was a new rule " it is the end of the month and you cannot rent it for two days" !?!?! The rental was allowed during the reservation, and it has been a week since the reservation, and we are moving the whole place, we have arranged movers, etc. We asked them - "So what do you suggest? We could not possibly get it, load it, drive, unload it, drive back and return it the same day!" They said "You can rent a 10' truck for two days" Seriously! If I could fit all my furniture in a 10' truck, why would I bother with the 26'?!?!. It took us almost two hours to talk to 6 different representatives, and it was all the same absurd answer. We are super disappointed! A ridiculous situation! Very unprofessional and absurd! Unfortunately, it is hard to rent such a big truck in the last moment and all other companies are already sold out... We'll see how the mileage is going to go, judging by the other reviews :(

My first time renting a U-Haul. The staff in this store was efficient and great. The vehicle itself also works well. The store itself was clean and well organized. The only problem I had during the rental experience is during check-in, U-Haul asked for my emergency contact, not just one, but two. Without such info, I could not rent. This felt unreasonable and invasion of privacy. Worse yet, they are not satisfied when I provided two emergency contacts with a phone number each, they wanted BOTH their home phones and mobile phone numbers; or else I could not rent. One phone number each is sufficient, why two? Felt a bit like privacy invasion to my emergency contacts. The staff was told what to do, this inflexibility came from the corporate level. The local staff and team are fine. I would not rent from this location or U-Haul because I did not appreciate the way U-Haul demanded for emergency contacts.

Never using U-Haul again. This location estimated our mileage that was 100 miles. We went 51. You would think that they are knowledgeable with what their doing. They charged us for gas when we put more gas than when we put more gas in the truck than what was already in it. Everyone there is in it for a check. My mom tried to deescalate the situation. They kept trying to talk about a survey. Also wouldn't give us a moving van with more gas in it. The first thing we did was put gas in the truck. When we got the truck it had xx599 miles on the truck. When we returned it, it had xx650 on it. They wanted us to pay for 100 miles when we only went from Redwood City to Moss Beach. I can't believe the audacity. Samantha was no help. Neither was the team member that rented the van to us. Kids there have smart mouths. We all do. Don't try to pick on us because we're minorities. Thank God I left Redwood City, they're racist af. Just sayin'. We're disputing charges. Already called the credit card company. Scammers! All of em.
