“So underrated! We went in and had a great time walking around and picked out some beautiful flowers. Went to check out and waited to get hit with the huge price and we’re so surprised at how affordable it was! Move over Home Depot and Lowe’s, this family owned business has won my business! Plus the man who helped us was so nice and knowledgeable!”
“The workers there are extremely helpful and kind so if you can't find what you're looking for don't be afraid to ask. The store is beautiful and the plants are well taken care of. I will definitely be coming back soon.”
“DIY still feels like a place where people care about helping you and keeping their store organized and neat. Most importantly, I've been able to call and get answers about stock before making the drive, which is very useful.”
“Alex has an amazing variety of rare fruit trees that may not be found anywhere else. When you buy a fruit tree from him, you also are getting expert advice on how to prune, fertilize, and otherwise maximize fruit production. He is currently helping me to nurse my guava back to health after I made some mistakes in the first year of growing it. I am learning a lot in the process. I highly recommend Alex and his nursery.”
“Honestly the best place I've found in San Fernando Valley! Great prices with a great selection of succulents, tree aloes, agaves, yuccas and dracaena dracos. Always glad to come back and restock and find new options”
“This is my favorite nursery. Everyone is so knowledgeable about plants and their recommendations are always just what we wanted for our low water yard. The prices are good and the plats are so healthy. I can't recommend this place enough!”
“I felt compelled to write an outstanding review of Boething Treeland and recognize the exceptional customer experience I received in dealing with this nursery. I called yesterday, in search of a tree to replace one that had gotten diseased in our back yard. We have a whole row of trees that are uniform and one in the middle died and left a gaping hole in our privacy layer shielding us from our neighbors home. This tree is very rare and hard to find (Dwarf Carolina Cherry Laurel (Prunus caroliniana 'Compacta'), especially this time of year, and in the "perfect size" and height. I called Boething and Paul answered the call. He was helpful and very attentive from the start. He immediately knew what I was looking for, and even explained to me that there are different "strains" of the Carolina Cherry Laurel...something no one ever told me. He clearly knows his trees! He asked me to send a photo and one close-up with the leaves. He immediately texted me back and said it was the "dwarf" version. He then sourced it on-site and immediately sent me photos of two healthy trees. The price was EXTREMELY low and very reasonable. The tree was gorgeous, and perfection! The only downfall for us is the fact that we need to pick-it-up b/c we are outside their delivery zone, which is understandable. We will need to drive to Woodland Hills from South County OC and renting a truck (a 6 hour round trip). This may affect our decision ultimately...but I did feel compelled to recognize the exceptional service, pricing, quality, and responsiveness I received from Boething and Paul. We are considering a crepe myrtle too, so I will be bookmarking Boething and def. call again!!”
“I came to find some plants to fill in some centerpieces I purchased for an event we were having and also support my local family owned business in town. When I arrived Hector he immediately acknowledged our presents and greeted Us. Hector was attentive and listened to our needs. He have Us more suggestions and ideas to help our vision come to light Surprisingly their prices are more reasonable/ affordable than many other large competitors. I was very pleased with their selection of plants flowers and trees for Our event. I will add some pictures soon.”
“Great service, very helpful and they have great suggestions on plants that work together. Very good prices on all plants and especially succulents. We love coming back here.”
“have driven by at least 20 years. stopped in today to check out the place. friendly staff , anser questions , great prices. wish i stopped by at least 20 years ago , big selection of roses.”
“An amazing collection of thousands of succulents and cacti hidden away behind a small storefront off of Parthenia. I've visited a couple of times and enjoy wandering through the thousands of plants (including some very rare ones) behind the storefront. Parking is limited to a few spaces but you can park on the street. The staff is super helpful and they also sell a wide range of pots and gardening/plant books. I highly recommend it.”
“Cool people who were friendly, knew their stuff, and have sold me some nice cacti that I stil have till this day. Mostly importantly, the prices were slightly cheaper than most places so do recommend :)”
“The green is here along with luxurious candles, pottery and velvet couchery. When I heard that a new section of the garden was expanding upstairs and that they were growing wine now, my tendrils curled. The glassware, the pamplemousse Savon hand soap, the coffee table bookeries are delightful. Buy some plants drink some wine, laugh with friends in a Forrest of flora. Pop some bubbles upstairs and giggle in the garden.”
“Great energy in this store. From the second I walked in the smells and music were great today. I highly recommend coming in and saying hi, they're very helpful and have cute ornaments for the holidays!”
“Oct 2023The guy who runs the place inside the store is really friendly and helpful. He's an honest guy, making an honest living. You will find that the quality here far exceeds any of the stuff you'll find at a Home Depot is for instance, and in some cases even Lowe's.They deal mostly in ceramic, and clay pottery.I was trying to find some plastic or resin pieces that were durable, and the owner had suggested to try a few other places. He didn't have the inventory, but he was still very friendly in suggesting some other spots to try.I do wish they would carry some thick, resin or plastic pots that are 1/8 to 1/4 in thickness. I'm sure this would be my go-to spot if that were the case. For now, I'm stuck with the big corporate places. In general though, if you're looking for a piece that's going to stand out in your garden, something as a focal point, or conversational piece, I think you'll find that this place might have what you're looking for.”
“I've driven by this place so many times but never went in and boy have I been missing out! Armstrong Garden Center has sooo many variety of plants! Herbs, flowers, trees, bushes, everything! The employees are super helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! Definitely will be coming back in the springtime for more plants!”
“Highly recommend Valley Sod.
My new lawn looks amazing! Follow the steps (prep work, fertilize, irrigation) and you will see great results. I ordered 500 sqf of sod got it down in about 45 minutes.”
“Had come to this home depot with my mother to pick up a particular light bulb wasn't sure which one was correct and fortunately *not sure if this was employee but handed us card after* Dana Kristoff help us out didn't make us feel dumb for asking simple questions, just directed us where we needed and happily helped. Honestly havent had that kind of help in a long time!”
“This is a great place to buy soil and fertilizer for your garden. The prices are lower than other big brand stores. Our veggies and fruit plants love fox farms potting soil along with the down to earth fertilizer”
“Excellent service, the shopping experience in this store is spectacular. I always go there. With extremely professional staff. I want to recognize Jayda. She is always ready to support you in your purchases. He is very friendly and professional and helpful, always complementing your shopping experience.”
“They have an extensive selection of plants at all maturity levels and the cheapest pricing we’ve seen too. Made the mistake of buying some big birds of paradise that were in terrible shape elsewhere for $125 a piece and found perfect ones here that was super tall for $65.”
