Jim is great. He runs Brand-X super professionally and has a deep understanding of network setups and concerns. They piggy back off ATT, so you do have to worry about ATT being spotty and shafting bandwidth lessees, but this is the case with many of the big companies too (many just use the others' infrastructure in a given place). Billing is honest and accurate, and services is second to none. The only reason not to use Brand-X is if you need guaranteed uptime like a business line, but otherwise they're the best in the Bay!

I haven't gotten the service installed an they are already giving me headaches.I canceled the service instead.

I am a happy customer and that is saying something. I spoke with the manager who sold me partial ATT fiber. And bingo, easy set up. Very few hitches. I chose them because I didn't want to deal with ATT. So fat-- a great decision.

Ultimately I didn't go with Brand X. The thing is, their pricing is rather expensive for what you get. As much as I detest AT&T, I'm getting far faster speed for much less than I would have from Brand X -- they're not even competitive. So you're paying a huge premium to be rid of AT&T customer service -- which is nice, but it's not like you're leaving AT&T. Brand X rents their lines from AT&T. Oh well.

I didn't end up using Brand X because I am currently under a contract with another company and couldn't justify the cancellation fee. However I did talk to the owner for some time about the services that he could provide me. He spent time explaining to me how everything worked, and the price couldn't be beat. I'm only sorry I couldn't switch right now. I will definitely consider Brand X in the future when my contract has expired.

I have been using Comcast for years and many a time in the past I wondered why the connection was so frequently disrupted. It happened so often that I decided to change the ISP a few months back to see what other companies are like. I heard about Brand X since early 2000 but it just didn't occur to me to give it a try because it was not well known. But having so many internet disruptions with Comcast I had to give it a try with a different company and I did not look back. The service is very good and so far and I have not experienced any internet disconnections at all and I think I will stick with Brand X because it is just very reliable.
