During the week days parking is horrible. Make sure you plan a head and get there 30 mins before your appointment to find parking and navigate the maps to find your provider’s office.

Not sure why some people gave 1-stars.. true, I’ve had to wait a long time for my Rx here, but the staff here are always working so hard, and doing a great job dealing with people who are yelling at them, treating them terribly, and acting like straight up toddlers. Maybe if the pharmacy gave out candy to keep peoples blood sugar up lol. Jokes aside, I’ve always been treated with patience, respect and kindness here- even when I’m the one who is misbehaving.

The worst pharmacy ever! Some there have an attitude of a little power and they wield it like a sledge hammer. Some need to go to charm school to learn manners and politeness. Some are lacking in communication skills. Management there needs replacing. The line was out the side door into the outside of building. Kaiser, do better!

Meh. They are ok. At times they are rough w my grandma. First time going here, there was a protest and no parking so maybe I’m being a lil too harsh.

I wish to provide, in detail, my experience in visiting the Richmond Medical Center ER on the evening of Saturday, July 15, 2023. It was a very upsetting experience, unlike the care I received during previous visits. I suffer from complete urinary retention and chronic constipation. Last Saturday evening, my fever began to climb to 101 and my entire body began to shake, I also had chills. We got in the car and arrived at The Richmond Medical Center around 9:00pmThe waiting room had 6 people. My fever spiked at home to 101 and I had chills and my body was shaking uncontrollably. My bladder was also full and I needed immediate attention. New symptom is intense rectal spasms after a bowel movement. After an approx. 45 minute wait they brought me to an exam room and I pleaded with them to empty my bladder which they did not do until they took me into another room. The only catheter they had available was a pediatric size so the emptying took a longer time than usual. I requested an enema. Nurse gave me an enema, told me she was very busy and that if I needed to use the commode she would leave the room and not be back for a long time. I did try to use the commode, unsuccessfully, she left the room and the tube came out 25 minutes into the process and I was covered in liquid. My husband went to find someone to help and no one was available. Someone told him that one of the senior nurses would come in to check on me- this never happened. The best I could I tried to reinsert. No nurse ever came back in to check on me. Since Saturday my rectum is hurting immensely and I continue to have the chills and rectal spasms before and after a bowel movement (no matter how small). I have nausea and reduced appetite. After 45 minutes, someone came in and told me the enema bag was empty and removed the tube. He did not check me out nor did he offer to clean me up. My husband opened a few drawers and located underpads which we took home with us. A nurse entered the room and shoved discharge papers in my face. No compassion, empathy or care in asking how I was feeling; overall a traumatizing, scary and frightening experience. While we were at the discharge desk, I was still shaking- it was obvious I was not OK (cold and wet). I have praised this ER in the past but last Saturday night there was a total breakdown. The treatment I received from the physicians was fine. Someone in Member Services (grievance submitted) needs to investigate the numerous breakdowns in care. For all future ER visits we will go to Oakland, a much more caring and equipped facility. I have no confidence in this ER nursing staff.

The people at this pharmacy don't do there job. I had a prescription that said there waiting on the lab results which I did a week ago. They never call my doctor to approve the medicine. I go through this problem every month and I'm sick of it.

I had a peroneal tendon repair (ankle tendon) last week at this facility. The facility was easy to navigate and clean, plus staff was super helpful directing me to the surgery dept.Once getting back to be prepped for the procedure I had THE NICEST nurses! Dorothy and Tiffany had such a great vibe and attitude making the whole area comfortable and relaxed. They actually enjoyed each other and their work! I was a little nervous for my IV but they kept the mood light and supportive and easily (non painfully) got my IV set and kept checking in on me. Thank you ladies so so much for being amazing at your jobs!!! You really made it a great experience for me. Post surgery I had a nurse, Lola, helping me wake up, checking in pain levels and getting me ice. Also a complete gem! So friendly, helpful, and informative as I started my recovery journey. She really cared about my comfort and ensured I was ready to leave feeling well enough, knew how to use my crutches, and got back to my family without a hitch. (Also Dorothy and Tiffany made a quick appearance to check in on me post surgery)Thank you to my nurses and Dr. Pollard (my awesome surgeon) for an above and beyond experience on my healing journey!

The worst pharmacy. They gave me a 30 minute wait time (keep in mind there were only 4 other people waiting as well). I went to ask if it was almost ready after 40 minutes and they said not yet. I waited more time and after seeing 20+ customers get their prescriptions and after waiting 55 minutes it was STILL not ready. So I told them I couldn’t wait anymore and requested it to be sent by mail… IT NEVER ARRIVED. I went to the Pinole pharmacy after a doctor’s appointment to ask what was going on and they said it was NEVER requested to be mailed. Are you kidding me? I was so upset.

Kaiser Richmond Medical Center is located in Central Richmond, aka "The Iron Triangle." This facility was opened in 1995. It has a 24-hour ER, and a free parking complex. My job often sends me to Kaiser Richmond in the afternoon and evening. The basic layout of the hospital is such that the parking garage, walk-in entrance to the ER, and main entrance to the hospital are all very close. There's only one road that goes in front of the hospital, and all other driveways are blocked off. I'm sure this makes it easier for security. I was just there a few nights ago. There were guards stationed in the garage, ER entrance, and main lobby. Along with roving guards, I felt pretty safe. The interior of the hospital is very clean. The Pharmacy and lab are on the ground floor. One negative is that there's only 2 small elevators in the main lobby. Sometimes one elevator is down for maintenance. The Inpatient Rx and Surgery Dept are on the 2nd Floor. The loading dock is on 8th Street. It's somewhat small, and always cluttered with trash.I don't know anyone who stayed here as a patient, so I can't comment on the rooms.

The pharmacy needs to do a better job at directing people to sign up first, then wait in line. It's just a mess and a waste of patients time

Free parking garageI only went to Radiology and there was a flickering light in the waiting area. If somebody was prone to seizures.. and I think radiology would be a stop for a seizure issue.. it would also induce one, I think.

For the most part, I have found the personnel at Kaiser, Richmond,CA. to be professional and responsive. I had a rather unpleasant experience with one doctor. However, he was the exception to the rule. Everyone else I have interacted with was great.
