Wanted to leave a review for the good service but I just received at this U-Haul here in Richmond I'm working on a job in the area for a hospital and I needed some supplies to help finish urgent job we're doing Typically I would go to Home Depot but these materials are typically found at U-Haul's There's plenty of parking I went inside I didn't wait that long to be honest even though they're very busy there I was helped right away The item I wanted wasn't quite right and I was going to leave but the man at the counter asked me if I needed a different size - which I thought was really cool because at least at other retail places people tend to just let you walk out empty-handed. He ended up having the bigger size in the back and made that happen so fast I couldn't believe it. So here's a big thank you to the team shout out to Myron and his co-workers. I would not hesitate to recommend this U-Haul for any moving trucks and supplies.

We recently used this U-Haul location to rent a trailer. It was easy to reserve online. The staff installed the trailer onto our truck once at the site. My reason for four stars is that what we reserved wasn't available when we arrived, so their inventory isn't accurately tracked. The staff told us they were giving us a better trailer with a ramp attached to it, but the trailer did not have a ramp. This location is also very tight to navigate. They had a long line of cars blocking traffic from moving because they were waiting to refill propane tanks. Once we were helped, it took staff quite a while to get our trailer. We had to move our vehicle while waiting to avoid blocking others, but then they needed us to move back to the original space. It seems like there is a more efficient way to use the space. In the end, though, we got a trailer in a sufficient size and were able to move what we needed to.

First time customer, the younger gentleman was helpful and courteous when i came in to pickup my rental this morning, however when i got back to return my rental, i could not get by the entrance as there was a truck blocking it for some time and was not informed where exactly to park, went to the back side and saw a parking space available and parked it. Was met with a rude short older bald man with glasses telling me why i was parking there, instead of letting me know where i should have parked it or given me any info, especially being my first time at this location. He then went to park it, sat in there for a while checking everything was ok I'm guessing, then comes out and tells me that i was getting charged $10 for the gas that was supposedly not replenished, even though i did put gas exactly as it was when i picked up and even have photos and gas receipt for it. Told him and he went on with some bs that he checked and it isn't as it was. Brushed it off because I'm not going to fight over 10 measly dollars. 10/10 do not recommend this location. Also the van had a foul smell that stayed in my clothes. Disgusting. Don't think they even cleaned it. Definitely not the experience i had at another location in el sobrante, where customer service was great and helpful without any shady issues.

I had the best experience I have ever had renting a vehicle today at Uhaul of Richmond. All three employees (I think one was the owner) I interacted with we're helpful, professional, and incredibly good at what they do. They removed my trailer hitch cover, install a new hitch, hooked up the trailer, and connected the wiring and safety chains before I could even finish complaining about week 1 49ers football. Amazing customer service! I'd go out of my way just to come to this location no matter where you are in the Bay Area. Thank you very much for everything today!

When it comes to refilling bbq propane tanks, this place is a ripoff. They charged me yesterday $25 for one tank. I found out that Allied propane service in Richmond charges only $18 for a full tank.

If I could give this ghetto u-haul no stars I would. As a person who lives in a low income neighborhood I think that it is absolutely egregious and atrocious for people to make money off the backs of those communities and not give quality products and services. I Rented a Van but arrived an hour late I've been hourly and asked if I could keep it later but was told no so I agreed to bring it back at the proper time but was pushed into a tin foot truck that I did not need instead. They just gave me the keys and I went to the truck to make sure that it was endangered when I looked at the latch I was not aware that the last was supposed to be fully joined I thought that it just had to be closer together the way it was.. No one helped me to inspect the truck or to tell me what to look for. When I took the truck I drove it to the destination and by the time I got there 10 miles later the back door was completely up and I had lost valuable and some priceless items. When I called them to let them know they tried to flip it and say that I damaged the truck and that I didn't get the insurance but I have my own insurance that is much better. They then try to act like they didn't know what happened and that it was brand new, but when I got there they clearly could see that this truck was damaged. They also tried to send me a picture of the truck before saying it was a new condition but did not send me a picture of the latch. When I got back and tried to talk to them I was treated very rudely, I think that it was because I was female. They said that the manager would be in at 5, it was 4:20 and I had already waited to hear from them for at least 2 hours that day. Then they tried to tell me that I wasn't gonna get anything with the manager on the phone who refused to talk to me instead he talked to the person at the desk who had insisted that I get the damn teuck in thenfirst place.. Again I feel as if this happened because I was female and black, no matter what the owner's nationality is. They asked me what I wanted and I said you should be telling me what you are offering and that should start with not paying for this truck. The owner refused and said that they would put it on hold which is not definitive.. He told me that I would have to call corporate and I told him that I have a job where I cannot do that, I am in high school administrator. I lost a mixer that I used to make cakes with my mom that was 40 years old and I lost some clothes that I had just bought from Banana Republic for work. I am devastated I don't know what to do about this mixer and they don't seem to give a damn. Do not rent from this location show them that we deserve are better in our neighborhoods.

The staff provides a level of customer service like no other. They are responsive, pollite, and resourceful. When you ask questions, they are knowledgeable and provide solutions. Myron and Gelbert were extremely great, as ALL staff I encountered from the time I arrived to when I left. I'm not the moving type, but because of them, I got a well, installed hitch, and some trailer lights. I highly recommend this u-haul location! You won't regret!!

Myron made what I would normally consider a hindrance into a wonderful experience. Myron was extremely personable, helpful, and went above and beyond to make what would normally be a transactional situation into something that makes me want to move more often. I haven't received customer service of that level in years! I will be coming back often. I must reiterate, Myron is a huge asset to the U-Haul company and name. He is an emissary of customer service and takes pride in his work. Thank you for having someone like Myron Spraggins Sr. as a representative of your company.
