Our wonderful post office lady was substituted, and unfortunately, the post office was closed at least two hours before the usual 5 pm closing time. To make matters worse, they didn’t even leave a note. I arrived at 3:10 pm on Thursday, July 10th, and waited for an hour before giving up. I returned 45 minutes later, around 4:45 pm, only to find that the post office was still closed. Several people came, waited, and then left, only to return later. In total, we all wasted about two hours. A simple note would have prevented this inconvenience.
The next morning, I went back to the post office, only to be turned away once again. Apparently, they didn’t have money orders, which I believe is not true since this only happens when someone is filling in for our regular, lovely person. I asked what had happened the previous day, and they said they had to close early. I then asked why they didn’t leave a note to inform the community, but they said they didn’t want to get in trouble with their supervisor. What?! I ended up wasting two days and still had to go to a different post office to get a simple money order. Please do leave a note if you need to close early and please do better!

This location is staffed by a single person, so please be mindful if you have to wait while the mail worker takes a break, as required by law, because it is the humane thing to do. Or, time your visit. If anyone is disgruntled, please contact the national USPS number since the staffing decisions come from the federal level. Whatever you do, please be kind, as everyone strives to do the best they can.

I arrived eight minutes before the office’s 1pm lunch break but was denied service because filling out a customs label might take too long and spill into the lunch break. (There was no one working behind the counter when I arrived. I had to wait for them.)

the review isbfor USPS not forbthe lady that works in here. This is my guess :
She's the only one at this shop, so whenever she's sick, or took s day off, USPS DON'T HAVE A COVER for this, that's why the store is closed a random hours on a regular bussiness day.

Only one employee seems to be working there. Therefore I'm not surprised at the level of customer service. I do not blame her, I blame the USPS management. Please give her some backup. She always appears to literally be on the verge of going postal . . . all that pent-up anger and frustration will eventually lead to something worse than just poor customer service.

I love having this post office in the neighborhood. I always receive great help from the women who work here.

Is the retail closing time on USPS.com wrong or did they just close hella early? Hard to know because their hours are not posted on the storefront. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Customer service is their kryptonite. A stain on an otherwise robust federal service. On tax day too? Common sense does not in their vocabulary. Useless. I’ve eaten my lunch at my desk many times!

Sadly it's the inconsistent hours. Lunch today was closed for almost 2 hours. 12:20-2:20. One day you show up it's open and the same time the next day and it's closed. I hate coming here. You just want to get in and out. I get it there's only one person. It's cute. But not when you have to wait or have to go somewhere else. That's a waste of time. When it works it's a celebration. Rate. .

Among the many good things about Pt Richmond, the Post Office, regrettably, stands as one of the worst.
