We have been going to The Point for 3 years. We have never had a problem, until last night. Our Meal, Crab Louie, Calamari Appetizer, Bread (cold). It was not busy, no large parties . Our patience ended at the 55 minutes mark. We proceeded to leave, offering to pay for our drinks. I politely expressed my dissatisfaction, in a calm manner. Left without creating a scene, Out of fairness, I would like to believe this is an isolated incident judging from past experience. There may have been migrating factors that contributed than we were not aware of.

Service is not too good. Food is not something you'll miss. Location by the water gives a good ambiance though and something you would flaunt to your guest if you wanna show around the town.

It's an average American restaurant in a great spot on the river.

We sat outside by the water and enjoyed the sunshine. Clam chowder was some of the best ever. I enjoyed the fish and chips. Service was a bit slow but we weren't in a rush.

Lunch on Friday 3/22 @ 12:10. Medium busy, seated right away. It was 10 minutes for our server to take our order. Appetizer coconut shrimp $16 and cup of clam chowder $6. Companion ordered French dip. Just water for beverages. Shrimp had been in the fryer too long, over brown and tough. Cocktail sauce had too generous horseradish, burned going down. Chef must have tripped with the container of dried thyme, it completely overpowered the soup. French dip beef was so dry,he removed it and soaked in the cup of dip.Parking: Plenty of free parkingWheelchair accessibility: Has adequate handicap spots and ramps

My husband loved his crab sandwich and fries, as usual. The fried zucchini appetizer was a little burnt. I ordered the taco salad (on special that day) with chicken. The grilled chicken was cooked perfectly and very tender. They didn't skimp on it or the avocado, either! Other than that, there wasn't very much lettuce; the chips (which were used instead of a fried tortilla shell) were overcooked; there was only a tiny bit of runny refried beans at the bottom, and there was a ton of white rice. I really like their ranch dressing, so that helped.

Do you like old school restaurants on the river? I do. We went to check out The Point over in Rio Vista. @pointrestaurant has daily specials and won the Best of the Delta runner up award for "Best Food with a View," on the Delta. This was worth visiting in itself. It offers patio, banquet, bar, and dining room seating all with views of the mighty Sacramento River. I ordered the refreshing Point's Punch, the jumbo prawn cocktail, deep fried artichoke hearts, and their popular clam chowdaaa! It tasted homemade but just needed more clams IMO. Satisfaction attained. Friendly, attentive, and quick service here. A return visit will be planned soon. Located between the Sac River and a little marina. I rounded my 3.5 stars to 4 with more menu exploration forthcoming. We also cruised downtown Rio Vista and found a couple more spots to explore. The Point!!! Awesome views!

This is a very cool old school style restaurant on the water front. Great views of Sacramento River. Built in 1964 it retains the look and feel of a classic family restaurant of the era. We rode in for lunch and sat at the bar watching the river and boats move up and down stream. Service was friendly and great. Food came out quickly and was very good. I had their Crab Louie. Lots of crab, avacado, eggs, tomatoes and olives. Other dish we had were Fish and chips (3 of them). We'll be back

What a great experience. Our Corvette Club showed up with over 70 people and they handled everyone quickly and efficiently with courteous service and the food was excellent. Nice portions too. And what a view right on the riverfront! I'm coming back!!

Got the Clam Linguini and the clams didnt taste fresh. They tasted a bit spoiled. And today I have runs and bubble guts. Go figure. There was music playing in the bar and in the common area that were two different songs. Kinda messed up the ambiance. But the water is absolutely beautiful. Even at night. I would probably go around lunch and try a chowder just to sit near the water. But may also just avoid it and go to Benicia as they have restaurants with great food that are on the water. I really would only go back here if I were stuck in rio vista again.Service was pretty good. The waitress didn't have an authentic smile but she was polite and fast. They refilled the watera constantly, which I loved
