Very unprofessional and rude! The fees change monthly and they explain it by saying they updated their system and are now going according to law!

I wish I could leave no star review. My father passed away and I have all the documents to prove that I'm the admistrator of his estate but the owner still won't let me access my dad's storage unit and on top of that charging me late and lien fees. His staff is so abrasive and has no manners or compassion just like the owner. I'm now having to pay money I don't have on top of morning my father. This is the last thing I wanted to deal with.

Needed a place to put some of my mom's things for a few weeks after she died and I'm glad I came here. Prices are much lower than other options nearby, the whole place looks to be well maintained, and Mike was friendly and awesome.

If i could give zero rating i would do it. We were so disappointed to the kind of customer service they showed us. We've been using the storage for 2 years and eventually they unlisted us in their automatic payment and want us to move right away. We called for their reason and they said because husband did not follow the rules of getting the locksmith when he cannot opened the key. But, he was busy that time and frontliner in the hospital. Normally, most storage we went to they can open it by just cutting the lock...and they insisted us to get a locksmith...Such a lame reason...we are a good customer and we have an automatic payment...they suddenly unlisted us without us knowing that we are not on the list anymore until we get a letter that says we are not paid on time. We decided to move out and luckily we found a better storage who is not scamming us. We even asked them "what if i cant open the key?" The new storage company told us that they will open it up for free. With Box Springs Self-Storage, they want us to open it with a recommended locksmith people. Such a scam. I would totally not recommend this storage company. I should have read reviews before we decided to rent their storage.

I had been a customer for over 25 plus years. Never been late on a payment, never had any complaints. Recently, I had misplaced my storages keys. I notified Box Springs Storage management my situation with the keys to the unit. Today, I wanted to try some spare keys I found. I was denied access through the front gate. I went to their office and was told I had to be escorted. I told them that it's a stupid policy. They called the cops on me and was told I had 10 days to get my belongings out. Now I ask you, "is that right'?

I would not recommend anyone renting a storage from this place the staff they are over priced and the staff is judgemental and biased Richard the manager asked me to vacate with no real reason after a spilled soda was left on the floor unknowingly to me he locked me out of my storage and I had until August 10 to be out I tried paying on the 1st but said I had to wait until everything was out I wasnt able to get out until the 15th and he still charged me the full rent for 105$ for a smaller u it mind you and a late fee of 15.75 no damage no problems other then I would go to my unit often and I think he assumed I was homeless and once assumed my husband was using there bathroom as a wash up facility we never did so and we never left anything a mess the staff here is prejudice and uncaring me and my husband work hard and paid our unit Fortunately we found a cheaper unit at another facility way nicer and 20$ cheaper! Good luck for whoever rents a u it here.

These owners are absolutely terrible. They had an 80 year old lady, my aunt walk to an open door when there was one that could be opened closer. The day before, the employee let them obviously he knows we're good customer service is. The other 2 that refuse are absolutely knuckleheads. It's obvious that the owner is heartless, racist, and a bigot. He has no heart and should be ashamed of himself. I wonder what hes gonna do in the future when somebody treats him with the same callous and distain and disrespect he shown other people. Whoever the owner is should be absolutely ashamed of himself. No wonder he has one and a 1/2 stars.

These new operators are wack jobs that need to go out of business...read below and be sure to spit on the street in front as you drive by...read on to see why I feel this way... My mother owned a storage unit at Box Springs self storage in Riverside. We have had the storage for over 25 years my mom put our things in there when we moved here from Los Angeles. In that storage was our life. My parents wedding gifts mostly, as they never even had a chance to use them , due to my father being murdered in 1993. After my dads murder my mom, who had Multiple sclerosis, began to get worse and was soon unable to walk. She paid every month on the storage for years. In 2011 I took over payments, as my mom relapsed and lost all her memory (even forgot who I was at times.) I took things out of the storage slowly but never had the chance to take out everything. I just kept paying every month to have it in a safe place. Last year in February, I watched my mom slowly pass away, at the age of 59, as MS took her life. I began going to the storage more often to find things of hers that I could hold. I miss her so much... in November, I went again and found 2 locks on my unit. I went to the office to ask what was happening? I never missed a payment... They said There is now new ownership, the owners I once knew ( half my life) were now gone and I was now locked out and no longer allowed to touch my unit as the unit was not in my name. The previous management requested the death certificates they needed so that I would be able to keep the unit and continue paying. (The unit was in my mothers and grandfathers name) The new management said " no that's not enough you need a court order " After speaking to a lawyer I was told it is a long process and would cost a pretty penny to handle. They told me I could keep paying but would not be allowed to go in or take anything out. In December I gave up. I was told they were going to put my unit up for auction. I requested info for the auction and kept getting no for an answer. Their manager was furious that I didn't want to make a payment since I was locked out. He yelled at me, said he was going to be losing out on money and in return would sell the unit because " I obviously had expensive things in there otherwise I wouldn't have kept it for so many years" In their office I cried and begged them to just help me and allow me to get my stuff out. I explained that both of my parents died, and that unit is all I have left of them. He said " well that's too bad, do what you have to do. But we do not need to give you any information regarding the auction, even if you buy it from the auction, I'm still going to charge you fees for not paying this month" I left in tears and heart broken that my parents things were now gone. I had nothing. I literally cried for weeks... until yesterday. Yesterday this man contacted me via FB. He found my cousin who led him to me. He called my phone and said that his mother in law bought my unit in an auction and they went through everything and they had to find me. He said they felt like everything in that storage unit was important and filled with love. Long story short, they gave me their address and wanted me to come and get all of my things from my storage at their house. And I mean ALL of my things. They didn't want to keep anything. Rarely in this world you see a kind heart. A loving heart. Anyone could have easily sold all of my stuff. In there was my dads old school cameras, my parents wedding gifts that were mostly crystal, expensive stereos and more... But no, they found me and gave it all back. To this family. Thank you isn't enough. This is one family I will never forget. The flag in the first photo with the cross and photo is from my dads funeral. He was in the Air Force. This was one of the MANY valuable memories that I now have back that was in that storage unit.

I just read this heart wrenching story below that this poor lady posted on Facebook. The horrible way she was treated by the cold, heartless management of this place is absolutely outrageous. Read below and see if you don't agree. I'm ready to drive over there and raise hell. Wanted to share the kindness of this mans heart...
