One of the worst banks I've worked with. Do not use them for anything, especially loans. Their website doesn't work. The interest rates are high and variable. They always go up and stay there. The index they use changes to suit their needs, not yours.
Stay away.

If you realize that banks exist for the sole purpose of loaning YOUR money to others in order to make as much profit as possible this becomes a crystal clear situation. My mother passes away over a year ago. There is an account, in the name of her trust at Provident. They consistently come up with reason after reason why they "can't" close out the trust account. First it was death certificate and no, a copy would not do. Then it was a copy of the trust documents. When these hoops were navigated their final ploy was "well, all beneficiaries of the trust must be present at THE SAME TIME. This is both untrue and illegal. According to the state web site the only document necessary is the death certificate and personal identification showing relation to the deceased. This is obviously false upon its face as non local residents, and even in country residents may have conflicting schedules and duties preventing them from appearing at a particular location simultaneously! Upon presenting Page 1 of the actual trust documents, it specifically names the Trustee in charge of the trust. This is the person legally responsible to all beneficiaries. It is their job to collect, gather and liquidate assets so they may be dispersed according to the terms of the document, YET, Provident keeps refusing to disperse the funds. So, unless your life is perfect and no one dies, I would recommend ANY other financial institution. FYI, identical situation at Citibank was resolved in 15 minutes at a single visit. This is the forth trip to Provident and an hour later I have zero confidence this will be resolved today.

On 4/21/2021 I was issued LOI from the bank to refinance an apartment building I have owned for over 10 years. It was a straight forward transaction and just 50% loan to value. I have been a owner of apartment building for nearly 20 years and have never had a worse experience than with Provident Bank and Kerry Canto. After 4 months of providing every piece of documentation in the end the total number of requests from the bank was over 30 different documents on 22 different days and emails they denied my loan based on what they call "global cash flow". Within one week I was approved at Chase and I closed the loan with Chase very very easily. It was a difficult and stressful time trying to work with Provident Bank and they kept the $2500 "processing fee". It makes zero sense that run a global cash flow at the very end of a painful approval process. This is about my 30th refinance transaction and Provident ranks a clear last.

Poorest excuse for a bank. This bank has to be the worst experience I've ever had to deal with. They are horrible with small business banking. If you want your account done right, go somewhere else. This isn't worth the time or the hassle.I'm 100% dissatisfied with this bank.

I had not been able to get into my online account for a month because of a system error. After numerous phone calls trying to resolve the issue online, I was finally directed to recreate my profile at the bank. Simone Fink, the Branch Service Ops Manager, walked me through every step of the process making sure everything worked, even the mobile app, before I left the bank. She even told me about checking account perks I didn't know I had. The customer service at this branch is excellent and the location convenient.
