Sycamore Canyon Wilderness Park is an easy to access, pretty area with hiking and mountain bike trails in the middle of the city. It is a great place to hike and ride, offering a lot of nice trails with something for everyone and hills for a good workout. The area is clean with very little trash. A stream is usually running through part of it, making for a nice resting place, especially after rain. The best part is by far the views of the surrounding areas. It is noted as a dog-friendly area and an American Indian conservation and wildlife refuge. There is currently construction on the privately owned property to build a picnic area and exhibit, while preserving the trails. Visitors note it gets hot in the summer with not a whole lot of shade, and it can be dry with lots of ants and lizards. Some trails can turn into a bit of a maze, wishing for better managed sign posts.
