I came here to get a vehicle diagnostic on my Toyota Tundra. I needed a honest shop to show me the recommendations and I found the place. I ended up getting the repairs done and I am very happy with the results. I would use this shop again in the future.

A family member died and Ruben Salazar bought it illegally from another family member. Ruben knew both family members personally for many years. He thought he was getting a deal on the car. The owner of this shop Ruben Salazar fraudulently filled out an abandonment and a mechanic lien and submitted it to the DMV in order to get the pink slip in his name. What else has he done illegally and fraudulently....

Idk what this kid Ramon was thinking, but he wanted to charge thousands of dollars for an old car i took to them. i knew the repairs were not gonna be thousands. I went to another place 700 and got everything fixed. Avoid this repair shop , or this kid trying to charge thousands and taking advantage of people that don't know about cars never again coming to this repair shop.

Terrible experience and service. I had my car towed to this shop because I was unable to get it to start. I was originally quoted $110 for a diagnostic and agreed to these terms. The following day I received a call saying that they were unable to run the diagnostic because all of my circuits were fried. They informed me that it would be $800 to get the car to start and then they would be able to run the diagnostic. I asked for some time to think about this decision and the manager said he needed a decision right then because he had other cars to take care of. I didn't want to have any further work on done on my car after hearing the price and being rushed to make a decision. When I arrived at the shop 2 days later to have it towed away, the manager told me that it would be $275 instead of the original $110, because the car was "being looked at for so long and a part was ordered" whatever the hell that means. I had no idea that a part was going to be ordered and the diagnostic was never even started. With the tow truck already in route I had no choice but to pay this ridiculous amount of money for absolutely no work being done to fix the problem. I had been coming to this shop for years with great service under the management of Paul. Unfortunately Paul is no longer working there and the new manager (Roman) took adantage of my situation to make a little extra money. Don't take your car here if you want fair and honest service.

I highly recommend this auto shop! This is gonna be a long review but I want to explain how good the service is without leaving anything out. They solved a major problem with my car and I'm not sure it would have been fixed at a different place. My car was having issues that appeared battery related: not starting, engine randomly dying, and battery light on my dash. My first course of action was calling AAA and they replaced my battery. That seemed like the move, given the prior battery was from 2017. However the same issues persisted, which led a series of AAA techs to suggest I might have an alternator issue and to take it to a shop. That's when I started looking up shops and calling around. I contacted 5 local shops total: Vehicle Repair Center, Prestige Automotive, B & J Garage, CSAI, and Protrans Automotive. VRC was a full $150 cheaper estimate than the next cheapest shop, and most were far more expensive. The person I spoke to at Prestige was so rude on the phone that I ruled them out immediately. I will say Jeff at Protrans was super kind and thorough on the phone talking through my issue so they'd have been my second choice, but no one came close to beating the VRC quote. Cecilio took a look at my car and I was shocked to learn the issue was totally out of left field: my AC unit was heavily damaged to the point of impacting the entire engine. He even pointed out me in the engine where the damage was and I saw my compressor in pieces. When he showed me, my jaw dropped. Why? Because since 2015 I've been taking this car in to attempt to get the AC fixed. I have been boiling alive in my car for 8 years, with the meekest most pitiful tepid air coming out of the vents only when I turn the AC to maximum power. I knew that surely wasn't normal and it had gone to at least 3 shops from 2015-2022 (all in NorCal, none local), but every time they'd tell me it was fixed, and every time it would not change a bit in quality. I got sick of spending money on the AC since it never improved, and I accepted it was just one of those quirks of buying a used car. I still have no idea why former mechanics never could resolve the AC (sexism, lack of thoroughness, maybe it was not quite as destroyed in earlier years and they thought all it needed was Freon, who knows) but Cecilio finally fixed it. When I drove home from the shop I could have cried feeling cold air in my car for the first time in 8 years. Not only did the engine start again now that this problem has been addressed, I have working AC! Of course this repair was not cheap and definitely hurts my wallet. But given that the other places were quoting so high for an alternator, my guess is that VRC was still my cheapest option even though the problem was not what I originally was asking for quotes for. Full transparency, it was $809.99 before 3% credit card fee, so I paid $834.28 total. On top of labor, the parts I received were a new compressor, Freon, a new serpentine belt, and a new air conditioner hose. Of course I wish it wasn't that expensive (just gained back all the credit card debt I'd paid off the last few months, lol) because I'm on a TA salary at UCR, but I don't think anyone at VRC was overcharging me. I'm super grateful to have AC before summer in Riverside. Also thank you to Cecilio for taking the time to show me each broken part and make it fully apparent what the problem was; no mechanic has done that for me before and it made car maintenance much more comprehendible. I'll be sure to tell my peers to go here for car repair. If my AC fails again in the next few days I'll come back and edit this review but I genuinely think it's been fixed once and for all and I am ever so grateful!!

I needed a quick smog check and found this gem by chance. It was the nearest auto shop when I asked Siri to "find smog check." I lucked out and they were available at the time. I was also long overdue for an oil change. They took the car right away, passed the smog and changed the oil in 40 minutes. 40 minutes!!! Literally pulled in to the shop and left 40 minutes later. Cheaper than my normal auto shop charges for an oil change. I can't say enough good things about this place. Farther than my usual auto shop, but the service and price makes it worth making my new go-to for oil changes. I don't leave too many reviews, but I felt obligated to after the quick, efficient and courteous service I received. Definite 5stars.

I went there two weeks ago to get an estimate on putting after market radiator fans on my 2005 GTO. The main mechanic there was very condescending, saying that it would take 10 hours to do a job like that and he had a lot of business for him to basically waste his time with the install. I used to take my GTO there for some minor repairs. I work on my cars and consider myself a Mechanic by hobby not trade. I've built engines and other hard things on my cars. However, I needed someone else to help me with the install since I was busy with work and I did not have to time to mess with my GTO. Long story short, I ended up going to M & N Smog and Muffler on University Ave. Mike the main man, was able to install it for me charged me $500 flat which was fair. I was happy with his install. I would no longer recommend these guys as the success got to their head, especially that "Chilango" mechanic.Service: General repairs & maintenance

Thanks to Paul and his team of experts, I've been fortunate to be able to trust a repair shop once again. They can detect the unpredictable and wow, my situation definitely was one. They are definitely knowledgeable, reliable and most of all thorough and honest. Thank you Paul and Senor Mechanics.
