I take my three kitties to Victoria Animal Hospital for their annual exams, vaccines and to apply Bravecto flea medication (for times a year). Everyone is very helpful but Matthew, the Vet Tech goes above and beyond! Matthew is always very thoughtful and listens to my needs and questions. He treats my kitties as if they were his own which is very important to me. Also was very pleased that Matthew did a followup call to see how they were doing. Thank you!

Please don’t take your animals here . The doctor does not know what he is doing. He couldn’t even diagnose what was wrong with my cat and we spent over $2000 for him to find out what was wrong with my cat all he did was send her home with an IV bag and some vitamins. A few days later my cat died in my arms plus he was asking the vet what they thought what was wrong with my cat isn’t he supposed to be the doctor? For your own sake, please don’t take your animals here.

DON’T bring your cat here unless you want to spend $1000s at emergency vets fixing what they mess up.
They messed up so many times from the beginning I regret giving them several chances because there were so many good reviews and they seemed so friendly so I’m hoping this will help scare others away from making the same mistake I did.
So my cat had puss coming out of her privates so I booked an appointment because of course I was concerned. Victoria animal hospital had me pay for a bunch of examinations including an xray which I was fine with. They told me that according to the xray she only had a UTI and so to just monitor her. Then I got another call from them later that evening telling me they messed up the blood tests and that she actually did have a Pyometra that needed emergency surgery. I asked about the xray diagnosis saying it wasn’t pyometra. They told me that since cats are so small a lot of times X-rays don’t show pyometra. (So why did they have me pay for an expensive xray only to misdiagnose her at first when an xray wasn’t even needed ? lol)
I scheduled the emergency surgery with them for the next day. They gave me my cat back a few hours after she woke up from surgery with discharge instructions. They told me she only needed an NSAID they gave me and that no pain medication was needed. The vet also told me that since my cat just had surgery that over the next two days even if they’re closed I could call and they’d pick up if she had any issues. This was not true.
The next day my cat started vomiting nonstop until she couldn’t anymore and became very faint. I tried to call them. They did not pick up.
I called the other vet that was on their voicemail and they said that they were SHOCKED that my cat was sent home with me again same day and that cats are supposed to be hospitalized 24-48 hours after pyometra surgery since it’s very invasive surgery that’s prone to complications, pain, and dehydration. They told me that if Victoria animal hospital did not have hospitalization capabilities that they should have transferred my cat or referred me to a different facility. They also said they were so surprised that Victoria animal hospital gave me no other pain medication. They told me that while they don’t have 24 hour care that I should immediately take her to corona animal hospital for care.
Corona animal hospital told me the same thing about how they were shocked she was sent home with me same day and how she recieved no at home pain medication. My cat was then hospitalized for a day at Corona animal hospital because apparently she was in so so much pain that she became severely ill with an altered level of consciousness. Her fever got to 105* F over night from her severe pain.
Corona animal hospital discharged me with gabapentin for at home use and a few days later I followed up with Victoria animal hospital again. The vet did not even take my cats vitals or anything. He just told me that her incision looked fine and to not give her as much gabapentin as Corona animal hospital said to. He told me a much lower dosage.
I stupidly listened to him and my cat got ill and needed to go to the emergency vet AGAIN. Apparently part of the reason they told me the dosage of pain medication was not just to make sure she’s comfortable recovering, but also to make sure she rests enough to recover fully. She had internal bleeding and bruising around the incision site. I canceled my second follow up with Victoria animal hospital because of this. Why would I continue to go to a vet that gives me wrong information and doesn’t even fully assess my cat? I was told to make sure to give the dosage Corona animal originally had told me to make sure this didn’t happen again.
A few days later, now my cat has one of her stitches protruding from her skin. The stitches were supposed to be inside of her so that she did not have to get them removed. She’s at the emergency vet again because of the newly protruding stitches.

Our dog timber gotten a bad slice in his front leg from the backyard somehow and we had to get him in to get stitches. I called around a lot of the hospitals to try to get him in for Stitches and nobody was able to take him in at the time of this emergency. Victoria animal Hospital made the time to immediately take my dog in. The staff was so friendly they took such good care of my dog. I had him in an out with Stitches in no time I would recommend Victoria animal Hospital to anybody that needed care for their animals.
