Marisa R first canceled my hair appointment just 30 minutes before it was supposed to start—after I had already arranged childcare. When I came back for the rescheduled appointment, she complained about wanting to go home and about how thick my hair was. Then she told me she wouldn’t have time to do the service I originally booked (a full highlight). Instead, she did a quick 5-minute test strip and claimed my hair wouldn’t take the highlights anyway.
She canceled my appointment on the spot. The manager did nothing to help, didn’t try to assess the situation, and even agreed with her, despite the fact that my hair hasn’t been colored in almost two years. I take very good care of my hair, so to be told it was too “unhealthy” to highlight was completely false. It felt like they just didn’t want to deal with my thick, long hair.
Both Marisa and the manager (whose name I didn’t get—she had half brown and half blonde hair) were extremely unprofessional and sent me home with zero apology.
Thankfully, I booked at the Folsom Ulta two days later, where the stylist had no problem doing a full highlight plus a second base color. My hair came out absolutely stunning, with not a single broken strand. The amazing Services District Educator Scott S, was on shift at the Folsom Ulta the day of my appointment and is a witness to the health and strength of my hair.

The service was at a very low level. I came in and asked for a foundation, but the employee couldn’t help me choose the right shade at all — it was obvious that they didn’t know anything about it. When I asked about a tester (because my skin doesn’t react well to all foundations and I need to test first), the staff member’s attitude immediately changed. They showed clear dissatisfaction and responded, “No, we don’t have it, only in Sephora,” with a tone that clearly sounded angry. Then she turned around and walked away.
I believe this is not the correct way to treat a customer. After this experience, I don’t think I’ll be returning to Ulta anytime soon.

I shopped at ULTA on-line and went to the location to pick-up my order. The pick-up area (next to the door) wasn’t well marked, so I needlessly stood in line. Thankfully the line was short and moved quickly. Wish I’d know the pick-up process prior. I didn’t shop that day, but the store is well lit, clean and inviting.

Had an amazing experience at the Ulta store located in Rocklin! I had eyebrows waxed and hair colored. Great job by both Marlene and Marissa!:)❤️Marlene took great care of my eyebrows at the Benefit counter located in this Ulta store. She did my eyebrows better than any other's at similar places. She mapped and marked them giving me eyebrows that worked on me. Amazing!!!!❤️ Thank you so much, Marlene!!! ❤️😊 I'll be back!)😊❤️ Marissa did a fantastic job on my hair color, cut and style!!! She took the time to listen to what I wanted, we looked at pictures together --discussed what would work for me and what wouldn't. The finished cut, color and style was great! Thank you Marissa for giving me such beautiful hair ❣️ I'll be back to see you!:) ❤️ The overall feel of the store is warm and personable, everyone is kind to the customers.

Marisa at Rocklin Ulta did the most amazing job on my hair. The color was beautiful and the highlights blended so naturally that I didn't have a line of outgrowth. On top of that she did color correction and was able to remove two old color lines that I had created on myself. Just rescheduled with her. Highly recommend her, she is a color and technique genius.

I came in several times a week to try out new scents for the day til i found the one that worked best on me. Workers there were so gracious to my unconventional antics. I finally found my perfect perfume thanx to them.
Also, returns are simple if you didnt find agreeable beauty products, which makes life in the beaury world s0 much simpler. Thank u!

Very disappointed with my highlights they were yellow, brassy and too obvious exactly all what I wanted to avoid.The hairstylist was nice so I am not going to mention her name but not a good job won't be back.150$ down the drain and...want to cry a little.

I stopped at Ulta in rocklin yesterday to purchase some eyeliner. to my surprise the nicest girl asked me if she could help me find anything and I told her what I was looking for. I ended up with a lot more than just eyeliner, but I wanted to extend how appreciative I was to have. Breana help me she was so kind and really knowledgeable with her products. Thank you again Breana I will definitely be back to see you again.

I've been a member at Ulta for a while and spend quite a bit here. Initially, I had a good experience; the associates helped me, and we had a pleasant time browsing and chatting. However, my experience took a turn for the worse at checkout. The cashier's attitude was condescending, repeatedly asking if I could afford my purchase. Every time I inserted my card into the reader, she questioned, "Are you gonna be able to afford that? Is that gonna be OK?" Not to mention I am a woman on color….Ive never had to deal with anything like this. I found this very rude and unnecessary, especially since I'm a Diamond member with plenty of money to spend. This behavior was really off-putting and needs to be addressed.
