I really enjoy getting my nails done here. Affordable and nice people. Jessica does great pedicures and Van does great nail sets.

This was my first time going to this place since I moved to Rodeo a little over two years ago. The place was completely empty, and the lady helped me immediately to get a pedicure. I asked her if she had any special pedicures and she said they only had spa pedicures. I only need a regular pedicure and when she set up the water for me she made me wait more than 5 minutes after she turned on the water, she went to the back and didn't come back after 10 minutes. She criticized my toes by making a rude comment. I asked her if she could use a tool to clean the extra skin off my feet and she said I can do that at home, and I told her I know I can do it at home, my question was to pay a little extra to get that done, because I usually get that done at the other places I go get my toes done and she said it was prohibited by the state of CA. She finished painting my toes and then just walked away to the back. She never told me to wait for my toes to dry in a different location. Her husband came in to help me a few times to check on my toes. When I was ready to pay they told me they didn't take credit cards and I need to pay with cash only. Mind that no signs were anywhere on the salon stating that the only form of payment was "CASH". I have been to other businesses and the first thing they let you know is that you can only pay with cash. I didn't have cash so she told me to go to the closest liquor store to get money and asked for my phone number to make sure I came back to pay. I ended up getting money from the liquor store (paid an additional $3 to get money back) and came back and pay. If I knew that they only take cash from the beginning, I will not stay. I will not come back to this business again. I want to support a local business that was extremely close to home but they have the worse customer service and the lady is just rude when you ask her questions or makes rude comments about you. I will go back to my regular place in Hercules.

I walked in on a damp Saturday morning hoping to be able to get a mani/pedi, or at least a pedi. (Saturday morning is not the time to go to a nail shop without an appointment, but go I did.) Luckily, they were able to take me immediately. (That might otherwise be a warning sign, but I hadn't had a spa pedicure since pre-COVID days. Enough said. LOL) I got a basic mani/pedi, and I do mean basic...and hurried. (A woman walked in announcing she had an appointment. The technician acknowledged her and told her to take a seat. She was still seated, waiting 30 mins later.) Bottom line, while I think it was too expensive for a basic mani/pedi and while there was nothing spa-like about it, I walked out with my hands and feet in far better shape than when I arrived. NOTE: I wasn't aware when I walked it, but THIS IS A CASH ONLY SHOP. I probably won't be back here, but I appreciate that I was able to walk in and get a pedi early on a Saturday morning.

Worst pedicure ever, the lady is rough and cut my toe and act like nothing happened, my toe bled for hours, had to put a wrap with cotton on it, bled through the bandaids

Was new to the area and got pedi done by an older lady named Tammy. She did a great job. However, she has since left.Went there again and was attended to by another lady… young lady ( never told me her name)She is bad. First time she did my pedi, she cut my toe and it bled a little so she knew she hurt me. I gave her the benefit of doubt and went back to her after a few months for another pedi. She cut my toe again and even after telling her to stop… she didnt! She continued to keep poking and prodding the area she cut and now Im bleeding quite badly.NEVER AGAIN!! I totally stopped visiting them.That was about a year ago. I have been traumatized and have not had any pedis todate !

Dirty little nail salon. Mr. Van does a good job but I gave 3 stars due to how dirty and stinky the shop was plus the credit card machine was down so I had to go to the atm to get cash. Just a total inconvenience. Also, Mrs. Van doesn't pay attention to detail, she rushes you on the pedicure.

I have been coming here for years. They do a wonderful job and even tho I moved across the bridge I won't go to anyone else. I get acrylics with gels and they last a long time and stay looking great even tho I get rough with them. This wonderful husband and wife are the sweetest and the best team. Love you guys!!

I use to come here but stopped due to them always being busy. I recently tried a new shop and let's just say my nails were DAMAGED... needless to say I scheduled an appointment with Jessica for a pedi and Van did my mani.... They brought me back ! My nails and feet look AMAZING. I will forsure be back. They both were patient, professional and did a great job. Looking at the reviews I was skeptical because of what everything that was said but I think it's just a need to try for yourself type of place. Sure the shop may be a little out dated but before we adapted to these "luxury " shops we had the mom and pop shops who we went to heavenly. Me personal like the mom and pop shops due to the atmosphere , these newer updated shops suck in a lot of departments such as customer service and professionalism even their work ! Give it a try !

I've been going to vans on & off for YEARS. The last two times I realized the price increase. My last visit was my last visit. Jessica who is always sweet was beyond rough on my feet , I also noticed the soreness of my toes after my pedi was done. On this last visit to vans, I paid $70 for a gel polish on my natural nails & a gel pedicure. Let me add, that I don't get a manicure just a polish so $70 is ridiculous. These are services I pay $55 at my normal shop. I would also agree with another yelper, you increased the prices but there has not been any Upgrades to the shop. I would definitely recommend that you work on the cleanliness of the establishment. Van the community loves you and would love to continue to support you but let's be real, we were all affected by the pandemic.

This review is not for the job done on my nails but for the price gauging that is inconsistent and the filthiness of the shop. I have come here several times for a gel fill when I can't get to regular nail lady. The price is always $35. Today I asked to get my nails cut down. When I got ready to pay Van looks at my hand sees I'm holding a $50 then proceeds to charge me $45. I said the price is always $35 for a gel fill. He said well I charged for the cut down. I said $10 for a cut down? He said, "no $5". Well then how could it be $45 because $35 plus $5 is $40. It goes without saying that I will never ever go back. These people are really hard up for money so if you go here watch out for the moving price scale and for the wife who gives the roughest pedicures. She made my toes bleed one time and that was enough for me --she never gave me another pedicure. I see other customers getting pedicures from her and they are saying ouch and twisting in their chairs from her roughness. The shop is nasty and unkept with papers and old mail shrewd all over the reception area and stacks of papers piled high behind the reception desk. I don't know when they last cleaned their stations, maybe 2011? I'm surprised in this era of COVID 19 that the CA board of cosmetology has not shut them down for their lack of cleanliness. It's gross in there.

My nails always last atleast a months unless I want to change colors.. You can't go wrong with Van nails! Walk-ins are welcome but I'd suggest calling ahead as this amazing duo does get busy.
