Here we sit waiting!I went to the store to discuss either purchasing a new tank for my new home or just moving my existing tank. We decided to go with moving my tank because there are no tanks like it available.I was given a quote and even discussed purchasing a new heater and possibly some more fish.We then scheduled the move. This day, today, I find myself sitting here waiting is the "move" day. I have called to be placed on hold to then be told that they would have to get back to me. Nothing yet. I'm still waiting!I then emailed whom I believe is the owner. No response. I called him and he pushed me directly to VM.And I am still waiting.I needed this thing moved today. I have sold the house and everything needs to be cleared.Under The Sea Aquatics (NICK), if you did not plan to do the job, why couldn't you just call me so that I could have found a different solution???I guess I now have to just sell the thing for a low price so that someone can just come get it out of here. This is the first unprofessional experiences that I have had this year! Lots of time wasted. Lots of energy wasted. This is what I received when dealing with Under The Sea Aquatics!I will not be using them, recommending them or doing business with them ever again. This has been a costly waste of energy and time and I am frustrated.Continued. I finally received a call from one of the employees around 11:20. He told me that they were on their way and that it would be around 1.5 hours. I asked why and he then said how about 20 minutes. While sitting and waiting with 20 minutes coming and going, I received a call from a woman at the store who started telling me off over a message. What? no apology? Why chew me out? You are the ones that are not here? So, I called back to then get an ear full. Now I am being told that I will be sued until I take this review down. And, still no apology.Somehow you have things mixed up. I am the customer. You have not been very nice to me and this is not good business. There is also an exaggeration in your response to this complaint and review. You said that you had been in contact with me for the last 1.5 hrs. Untrue! I was the one trying to hunt for you. Your responses did not occur until I posted reviews. Just to be clear.Just to be even clearer. YES! Yes I did argue back with the woman raising her voice to me over the phone. I didn't schedule an appointment with you for this. I just wanted a tank moved.Do better! You become what you practice and this was not what I would consider a good practice. I am highly disappointed with every one of these interactions. I wish things would have been what they should have been and that I could have sent over the awesome review that I wanted to send. But, this was so costly to me and so much time has been lost and then I have been threatened with a law suit. Everyone needs to know.No more waiting. It's past 12. The service person did not show. The office person said that they are not coming.Moving on...Unhappy customer.

Saw this place while driving to work. Stopped in and was pleasantly surprised. My son was with me and we really enjoyed looking at all the fish.. we bought a couple of Fancy guppies to add to the tank. I've already been back twice.

Great place to start a new hobby, very knowledgeable and kind to answer any questions and concerns. They have lots of variety of fish from freshwater to saltwater and other plants and critters like frogs, shrimp, to small sharks. Would recommend a visit even if to just go look at the cool fish they have in their big tanks.

Nice little aquarium place. Some rare salt water specimens. A few nice freshwater specimens that you will not find at a Petco.

Amazing store! Melissa was so helpful she ordered me my fish that I had been looking months for. The new owners Melissa and Nick are very personable and accommodating. They’re working everytime I come in. Ben and Eric are so knowledgeable. You can’t go wrong coming in the best store no matter who is there working they are all very knowledgeable. Fish and Coral are just amazing. Selena helped me with the whole store being at a corals farmers market this weekend. She acknowledged that she didn’t have much knowledge, but she was so helpful and calling the owners who were by the phone and ready to help with any questions in my opinion coming here for years. This is the first time that I would even write a review. Because I really had nothing great to say but now every week and I am so excited to visit my favorite store.Side note :I want to say how happy I am Thorin is gone. I would not come in the store for a very long time as he stole out of my home on a service call. But now that he’s gone I use under the sea once again for my service needs! Their service department is amazing my tank always looks great thanks Eric!

Walking in was amazing. The fish and tanks are all well maintained and beautiful. We were instantly greeted and introduced by staff which is top notch in good customer service. Eric and Ben were knowledgeable, personable and above all patient with our questions and long winded decision process. We are excited about our new addition to our tanks and have found our perfect fish store. Good job guys

Under new ownership, and a knowledgeable team, Under the Sea Aquatics has become a Sonoma County landmark for all of your aquatic needs. My wife and I have been keeping fresh water tanks for over 15 years, and this team of friendly and knowledgeable people gave us the confidence to start our first salt water tank. Three months later we upgraded to a larger size tank and we couldn’t be happier. Shout out to Nick for getting our water perfectly situated, and to Ben for his advice on how to keep everything running smoothly. The owner is on site, present for customers’ needs and willing to go above and beyond to share his passion and encourage your hobby. This store features a very wide selection of high quality fish and corals. We look forward to every visit to Under The Sea Aquatics. -Tim and Amy

I was only looking for a couple Nerite snails & they ordered them for me. I wasn't expecting anything like that. So I will definitely go there again. Especially since they are local and very nice.

What's worse than a chain pet store that doesn't care about its betta fish and won't even try to hide it? A locally owned local fish store who THINKS they are doing great with their bettas and will smugly tell you how awesome they are, while looking at a wall of sickly/dead bettas. When this store changed ownership several months ago I was so glad because the previous owner was so bad. First day I went in, the new owner Jeremy seemed glad to have feedback from an experienced betta person and I was happy to give it (as most chain fish stores don't want to hear it). Fast forward a few months later and the bettas weren't looking so good. I expressed concern about several of the bettas, including one floating sideways, one with a bent spine, and another struggling with swim bladder (can't swim to the top to get air). Owner Jeremy calls over their new "betta expert" Tron (Thor?) to tell me all the bettas are perfectly healthy and happy. Before I left I saw a dead fish lying right in the front of the tank housing the female bettas. I left my name/number and offered to take any sick bettas that they can't sell, since I have brought many back to good health. Sometimes you just can't give the time and individualized attention a sick fish might need at a busy store, so I thought it might be a good option - if they cared about their fish. I went in a few more times to get needed supplies, and the bettas didn't ever look any "betta." I'd try to diplomatically point out the issues (the same sideways floating fish was still there a month later, poor thing, still on its side, others were clearly struggling). Jeremy insisted they were all happy, healthy fish and thought I was just trying to bargain down on price. No...that's not why I asked to take a sick fish for free. It's because I don't want to pay for a sick fish - it'll only tell the store that selling sick bettas is a great idea, and they'll just replace the sick fish with another poor betta that will be overpriced and stuck in a box the equivalent of a bathroom stall for a human. The final time I went in there, it was the same sad situation with the bettas, owner still insisting all was well with them (even with a dead one front and center). But... they were also selling tiny clear boxes no bigger than the little betta cubes, as betta tanks! I told Jeremy, if the store sells these tiny-tiny boxes, then people buying bettas will think it's okay for them to live in these. He shakes his head a little and says, "Well they don't have to buy them." Omg are you kidding me? This is the owner of the store! You don't have to SELL these! Final note: unbeknownst to me my daughter came to Under the Sea to buy a betta for herself. She ended up choosing two - a poor sickly guy with bad fin rot and a juvenile who had just arrived. I tried to help her especially with the sick one. His fins were melted almost to his body, and the store never said to my daughter, don't buy that one he's pretty much dead, or do you know how to take care of a sick betta, or here is some info on fin rot. No, they told her nothing about betta care and charged $34 for this almost-dead fish! She did everything she could for that poor fish, but he passed three days later. My daughter called the store and explained the fish had died and she wanted her money back. She had to bring the fish back in, along with a water sample...and was not given a refund but store credit. Really? The last thing she wanted to do was financially support this store to just go out and buy a replacement for the very sick, dying fish they had just sold her. They will smugly tell you they have a betta expert now and "haven't lost a betta in months," while STANDING IN FRONT OF A DEAD BETTA. They have someone in their community (me) offering to take their sick/injured bettas and nurse them back to health instead of allowing them to die cold and alone in a tiny cell, but they never called me and instead just

Best aquatic mixed reef store in Northern California. May be the only one north of the Golden Gate Bridge all the way to Oregon. I have been following this store for years even when it was located in Cotati. Over the past year I have only been seeing this place improve. The quality and health of the marine life are excellent with lots of options and great pricing. My wife and I stop by often as they get new coral for our reef tank weekly. Stop I. You won't be disappointed and I'm sure it will also quickly earn the title my new favorite LFS.
