Well...I now work here 10 years later. Much of this still remains the same! It's a great place to learn and grow!

Went here to visit my niece several times, and for a State funded school, it's quite good--she had some issues registering for classes, which was surprisingly difficult, but that's due to the large number of students vying for a single class--the process seemed disorganized at times. The campus is all green rolling meadows and gorgeous, like a slice of life in the country. Yes, it's huge, but it has a small town feel and it's sunny and warm in the summer, and fall--lovely succulent, bit of a party atmosphere. Definitely a solid option for those who want to be in the area and don't have the funds to spend on a private school.

SSU is an exceptional school. Not sure why there's a few negative reviews. Maybe college just wasn't for you if you're complaining so much. SSU's staff are amazing. They genuinely care about you and are more than happy to help you and watch you succeed. The advisors went above and beyond to guide me in the right direction. You will find out that everyone at SSU wants to help you. Everyone is extremely friendly and ready to assist you. I also see lots of people complaining that there's "nothing to do." False. If you're going to college to simply party, become an alcoholic, do drugs, hook up etc. then you might want to get your priorities straight and grow up. SSU has is great campus life, AMAZING and SPACIOUS housing, friendly RAs, friendly people, and beautiful modern townhouses to live in. I can't get over how beautiful the housing is. You're not going to find yourself living in a squared box like other campus dorms. These dorms will make you feel like you're at a hotel. Comfy, modern, clean, and beautiful. This is a school where people work hard and get their degrees. I couldn't have picked a better school.

They need to fix their washing machines. This is ridiculous. This is my THIRD washing machine issue. The first time the washing machine exploded and went off its tracks. The second time the washing machine did the same thing but locked its door so i couldn't access my clothes for a couple of days and the third time the washing machine couldn't unlock its self so i had to wait until a maintenance worker would come in and fix it but all he said was i can't do anything and didn't even try.HORRIBLE STAFF.

I went here for my freshman year and what I experienced, I hope it never happens again. If I could rate this place -100 stars I WOULD. To parents and seniors in high school looking for colleges, DO NOT COME HERE! DO NOT GO TO SONOMA. The staff does not care about you, and they won't do anything to help you. Becky from Housing didn't care about my situation or anything I had to say. They will ruin your life. Sonoma let their students off for alcohol and drug issues but anything else is intolerable. If you're looking for a sign to come here for college, THIS IS A SIGN TO NOT COME HERE.

They took all the chairs out of the wine building at 9 this morning for an event that doesn't start until 4...but it's fine I'll sit outside in the freezing cold to study.

Tour this school over the summer. Was not impressed at all. Our tour guide was talking more about another college than the one we were in. Grounds were unkept and buildings look old and run down. For some reason we did not go into any buildings and we were outside the entire tour which I found very odd. My group wanted to leave the tour the first 15 minutes it started. This school is for sure off our list. Adios SSU!
