What a great staple at the top of the hill. This is my go to spot when I need to increase my plant pot size, get new supplies, and ask for plant advice. The staff are incredibly helpful and offer phenomenal insight/advice. Make sure to stop by here and support local!

If you want plants and trees of good quality, that don't die with in months....this is the place to go! Big box stores have poor quality plants and trees. I've bought flowers here that have lasted me years and years! They are very helpful and knowledgeable! It's important to support small businesses like this before there are none left, and the knowledge is gone! I am greatful for their knowledge & experience. They get right to the point & they know their stuff!

Nice selection but I won’t go in again, we asked about fertilizer and insecticide and one of the women was so snarky, short and rude that we left the things we picked out at the counter. Sorry to the other employees who have to work with her.

Not helpful. Lack of knowledge. Lack of social skills. I dont think they were being rude purposely, seems to me thats just how they are. Two individuals. Male and female. Im sure they have good products, but I don't see a need to return. I came here to give business to a small business instead of home depot. At Home depot you'll probably get similar service but lower prices

Most of the staff is very helpful and friendly, but there is one woman who is quite unpleasant. Acts like they don't need, or care, about getting my business.I have been there twice. First time was great, I only bought liquid fertilizer, a pot (very expensive but pretty), and soil. Someone kindly helped me to my car and put the pot in my trunk. Very nice. The second visit, I spent $100 on common plants for an outdoor planter. I knew it would be half that at Home Depot or another big store, but wanted to support a small business in my new community. Again, the 2 staff members there were friendly and kind.Got home and noticed one of the plants was moldy. I hadn't looked closely enough at the nursery, thought it was interesting silverish green leaves. Nope, just lots of mold. $7 for a small plant in a 4" pot, I know it costs no more than 3.99 elsewhere. It's a small nursery, not many plants, you'd think they would catch disease issues, or apologize when made aware. That was not the case. I was told 24 hours or less to return a diseased plant. After that, you are out of luck, and out the money. (All the other small business nurseries I have ever been to take plants back for weeks after I buy them if they are found to be unhealthy or diseased. All those businesses take your phone number at the till, and that provides a permanent record of what you have bought there. It has always been such a pleasure to be a customer at all those small family businesses.)I guess I should have called as soon as I got home, but with 3 children, pets, work, etc...life gets busy. Brought the plant in 1 week later, explained the situation, and showed the plant was dead and had mold all over it. She said it was dead and dried out, and there was no way to know if the mold it was covered in is what killed it. I would never try to scam a business, but that is how she made me feel. I drove for 25 minutes to get there...why would I go to all that trouble to bring in a dead plant I bought somewhere else? You could even see their writing on the plant for pricing. It is fairly distinctive. No question she knew it was from their store. If she had just said she was really very sorry this happened, apologized for it, but couldn't exchange for a new plant, I would have returned again despite the poor quality plant. The rest of the plants were good, so I could stomach the small loss. I would just be sure to check each plant very closely there in the future. The woman couldn't have cared less about customer service. I guess she makes enough profit from her regulars and doesn't care about or need new business?I wind up spending about $300-400 on plants each spring, and more on pots, soil, fertilizer, etc... Would have been a loyal customer for years. Now they lost a customer and regular income. Over one (diseased!) plant?I will not be going back there again. Businesses who treat customers poorly will lose those customers. Unfortunately, after reading all of the negative reviews, I can see that I am far from the only customer treated this way. There seems to be a pattern of poor customer service from that one woman. Such a shame, everyone else is great.

Nice and helpful staff. Limited selection of semi aquatic and semi-aquatic plants though.

This Nursery is a sanctuary to me. They only sell the highest quality plants and outdoes anything sold at overpriced mass market chains like Armstrong, Home Depot or Lowe’s whose plants are listless and practically made out of paper and chemicals. It reminds me of the special nurseries I used to visit in Northern California. This is a local family owned legacy business, and its staff are experts. I was shocked to read these horrific reviews on google complaining about the products and the owners. I can only imagine the fault to lie with the posters. Frankie is a brilliant woman who curates her selection for quality like her incomparable Icelandic poppies and shasta daisies . I asked for some pink jasmine from Frankie and Curtis and the ones they got for me are the only ones who survived this last heatwave. The Home Depot ones disintegrated. Shop Elwood and earn respect from Frankie because she is a true Mother Earth legend.

This place sold me an expensive plant that had mealybugs. When i reached them to talk about it, the manager was super unprofessional, unkind & rude. All the reviews about their rudeness is true, and apparently other people on other platforms have mentioned their mealybug situation. I had to trash my plant. If i had paid with credit card i would file a dispute. Very low class people running the place. I do not recommend.

Unfortunately, the $100 plant I bought is dying even though I followed all of their instructions and even paid them to repot and soil the plant. When I came and asked for help, they were completely dismissive and showed terrible customer service. I'll never come here again.

So...I love going here - not just because I love plants, but I love the outdoor environment and unique plant options. BUT ...the lady that works here ... is MEAN AND RUDE!!!I bought almost $80 in multiple plants and pots, etc. and all she gave me was a snide response and obnoxiously offensive response to any question I asked her. This was not the first time. Each time I went I hoped maybe she was just "having a bad day"? (I'd call her a rude name if I could, but I don't know why I would have to.)At what point is it allowed to treat customers looking down from her chin and down her nose. Rude - mean - unfriendly. and yes...two of my plants are dead now. Not the biggest deal...I guess. I will take the blame if that was me. But feeling stupid at the counter, as I give her my money. Well, that I blame myself for. I'd say I'm never going back but its really the only and best outdoor nursery we have in our area. I will just NEVER BUY ANYTHING MORE EVER AGAIN from this place.

Pleasant to walk around then I have to face the lady at the counter. She is so rude and unfriendly. She can't be bothered with questions. Just ruins the entire time. They still get my money because I like the plants but I wish someone would give it right back to her. Argh.
