I always like this motel but I was there the other night Thursday and there was a used tampon on the side of the toilet. I took a bag from the trash can and picked it up and sure enough. They really need to clean and check the rooms thoroughly. That’s why I’m giving it 3

For the price, this is a rather nice motel. No, you're not getting a Hilton but you get a clean bathroom, a comfortable bed and air-conditioning that works really really well.The lady that runs the place in the front office is very nice and accommodating and she gave me my choice of rooms on the first floor when I checked in last minute and she treated me very very well and this will definitely be my kind of go to if I need to stay a night somewhere if I can't stay at home for some reason type of place it's kind of a beat up property but again for what you pay for this is a very nice property.Other reviewers talked about Chinese man, who was kind of rude, I didn't particularly find him to be rude. He just simply doesn't understand a lot of English and doesn't really know all that much. I called in because I didn't know how to turn the shower on because it has got some weird set up that I have not seen in the US before where you have to actually turn the nozzle for the bath upside down and push a button, and he didn't know how to do that, but otherwise, he was kind of friendly, I guess.Update: I did end up finding a few cockroaches that I've had to kill in the bathroom area. And while I was under the impression that you could take a bath in the tub, you can't and that more than the bugs caused me to lower the rating. Still a good deal for the price.

I’ll start with the good: My ex and I were homeless for a few months and it was cheaper to stay here than anywhere else. Also, the staff were friendly. Wendy and Rene were super sweet and they’d help you fix almost any problem. Also, the two maintenance men are literally the sweetest peoplein the whole world. They even went out of their way to help my ex and I multiple times. HOWEVER; I’d still recommend that you don’t stay h! First off: if you’re there for more than a month (which isn’t most people) they have you move to another room roughly every 4 weeks. Also, none of the rooms have microwaves, there is only 1 communal microwave, which is in the lobby, which closes at 10 pm and sometimes even earlier. The rooms were absolutely DISGUSTING! Roaches infested the entire building and if there was anything wrong with the room, it was never actually fixed, just covered up. Even the shower curtains were covered in mold. The “security guards” were friendly but overall lousy. They’d constantly just be on their phones and they would even take naps sometimes. Also not the best part of town, my ex and I once woke up to a stand-off between two guys and a whole swat team. And finally, we talked to some of the staff and this place doesn’t even pay fair wages. They don’t pay their cleaning staff hourly, but instead by how many rooms they clean. For example, if a room is occupied they have to ask the tenant if they need anything such as towels or soap. If all of their tenants say no, they don’t get paid, but they still have to be there for their whole 8 hour shift.

The Friendly is home away from home. From the motel staff to its customers, all were easy to talk with and a pleasure to get to know.Just as it is at home with neighbors I got to know over the years, so it is here at this south San Gabriel BLVDmotel, good people next door in every direction making this place my home away from home.

Too many Ruffians low-budget too much police action and activity going on there nah it's no good at all and it's too expensive..UPDATE... as of today 5,17,19. I was banned from ever renting on this property due to the fact I let my friend stay there after I was told he would leave. Y they kept my deposit and lied about some policy. DO NOT GO THERE STAY AWAY. Also don't let the fake picture of what the hotel looks like that is not the actual place what you're seeing is a picture of downtown LA false advertising

Never going back again, have been there a couple times before and it was a bed to sleep in which was all I was expecting. One time I left my hat in the office and there’s cameras everywhere in there, they said they don’t know what happened to it or they can’t check the cameras because of some stupid reason. They probly took it but anyways found a bed bug in the bed called the lady to transfer us to another room. She happily did to a room that smelled like paint by the way the first room had mold stains in the ceiling, so now that I’m inhaling deadly fumes in this new room my boyfriend goes to pee only to find another bedbug crawling on the wall. Got my money back after the stupid lady had to verify that there was bugs as if I was lying! Anyways -5 stars never going back there!!!

Night manager is a total jerkoff. I called to see if there was an available room and he yelled, "NO. OK, BYE." I had actually stayed here for one night the week before, and the same night manager made rude comments about my race (I'm white) and accent (I'm from the midwest).I attempted to call back after being hung up on, and the manager refused to answer the phone throughout the rest of the night. It's dirty, with drywall peeling and moisture seeping in through some parts of the walls (room 103 was the one I stayed in). The television set was an old tube tv. Half of the screen was discolored and the advertised "free wifi" did not work.The only thing this place has going for it is that it's cheap.

Been going there for 20 yrs ... Nice , Nice, Nice lady !!! She's very sweet and let's us check in early !!!! No wonder they call it the FRIENDLY INN !!!

This motel is violent my grandson n daughter were shot in the parking lot thank god they are ok 5 month old baby n 12 old grandkids were in the back seat I would not stay in this place if they paid me

How can they say friendly in when they have 24-hour armed security you go to answer my question and they put their hand on the gun this is not a safe place to be the rooms are filthy stay far away from this
