Placer SPCA, founded in 1973, is a non-profit organization dedicated to the humane treatment of animals in Placer County. The organization plays a vital role in serving both animals and the community, relying on donations, grants, and service fees for funding. Visitors appreciate the clean, welcoming facility and the friendly staff. However, the requirement to schedule appointments to meet animals can be seen as inconvenient. Many people feel a deep emotional connection to the animals, often expressing sadness over their longing for loving homes. The organization has successfully matched pets with loving families, making a positive impact on both the animals and their new owners. One adopter shared how their dog, adopted at five years old, became a cherished family member. With a dedicated team led by a passionate CEO, Placer SPCA continues to care for pets in need and encourages families to consider adopting a furry companion.
I donated hundreds of dollars worth of food and toys here. The staff are always so appreciative and the animals are very well cared for. I can ask nothing more than for innocent animals to be given the life they deserve, even if it’s a shelter. The staff and volunteers truly care for the animals.

We had a seamless process adopting our kitten from here. The facility is clean and the animals are clearly well cared for. Thank you!

Nice new looking facility, clean and staff was friendly. The draw back was that you had to schedule an appointment to “meet” an animal. Felt that was not very convenient
