Came in here to buy a pair of shoes for my daughter. The customer service was decent for me and my husband, but not so much for the person in front of us. The customer in front of us was smiling and asking questions and even thanked the clerk for walking her through the payment process. The clerk seemed inpatient and was not polite at all. Being kind and having patience is so important specially, when you're helping an elderly person. By reading the comments below this seems to be an issue. Upper management invest in your employees. Train them to be welcoming, patient and friendly.

When I came, all of the staff were enerving. In fact an off duty worker went into a long diatribe with an on duty worker having me wait 5 minutes to ask for a particular item with my friend. She was also rude to the brim as my girl friend reiterated. We will be contacting the store manager and total team to get her removed asap.

I rarely write reviews on big box stores, because it's like writing a review on McDonald's. It's going to be the same wherever you go. However, when you're slighted, sometimes you just need to Yelp. Went to go buy a fishing license for the family. Asked a group of employees that were talking at the register if someone could assist me. The customer service person seemed annoyed at my questions about the purchasing process and started to raise her voice, so much so she caught herself and lowered it. My main questions were, if they're a minor how would they be able show ID? Does everyone need to be present? And can you purchase it online if you're not able to assist me? I don't think she entirely knew, maybe that's why she was annoyed. The kicker is she said I couldn't purchase online for the next day, the state would need to mail it to me. Welp, here I sit with one printed after purchasing it online. I realize this isn't a Big 5 thing, you can have a clerk that is having a bad day, or maybe a poor disposition. I will say this though, the only perks of going to a brick and mortar store is that you can go in, talk to a real person and ask questions. When you fail at that, well then I can see why Amazon is killing the competition. An app won't get annoyed and raise their voices at the customers.

I recently visited this store with the intention of purchasing ammunition, only to be told that they couldn't sell it because it was too close to closing time. This policy left me frustrated and disappointed. As a customer, I expect to be able to make purchases during regular business hours, and being denied the opportunity to buy what I needed was both inconvenient and irritating. It's disheartening when a store prioritizes closing procedures over customer satisfaction. I'll be taking my business elsewhere in the future.

I wish I would have asked the staffs name, she was so helpful over the phone. I needed soccer socks last minute for my kids pictures. I called first and was happy to hear they had the color and size we needed. 2 pairs for $10, not a bad deal at all.

Big Shout out to Matt he goes above and beyond the call of duty. Great customer service. He has created a customer base of repeat business. If you need want to have knowledgeable people that care about what they do, do not hesitate to come to this location.

Store is nice employees are nice. Only thing I don’t like is the traffic on Colima but I guess that has nothing to do with the actual store.

So bummed! terrible customer service. We walked in to find a pair of boots for my child and all 4 workers refused to help us find the correct size. After several attempts to get assistance had to walk out of the store empty handed with a very disappointed 9 year old. Then, when my sister walked into the store after we left, all 4 workers were standing at the cash register discussing how I had requested help and left after not being serviced. so disappointing.

I rarely write reviews especially for large companies like Big 5. However, a recent encounter with an employee had made me really unsatisfied with their customer service. A few days ago, I bought a canopy which was on sale for $99.99. At the time, the box seemed to be resealed (probably a returned item), but I did not think more about it. Not to my surprise, the top part of the canopy was missing. Being at the beach without a canopy, my friends and I were infuriated and were hoping to get some reimbursement for their mistake. I went to the same store the next day to return the canopy with complaints. At first, the assistant manager, Brieann, said I could not return the item since it was used. Then, she completely ignored my complaints or anything that I said. As an assistant manager, I would suppose that your job was to resolve issues, ensure operational excellence, and develop good customer relationships. Brianne literally decided to ignore everything and just walked away without even apologizing. Please, train your people better.
