Local gem. Easy hikes around the variety of habitats in this critical wetland for migratory birds, sea otters, and numerous other critters. Incredible birdwatching and awesome staff. Check their website for group walks with a ranger or a Naturalist. Bring your camera and the iNat app.

Check in at the front desk before hitting the trails though! We found the staff to be super knowledgeable and helpful at helping us pick trails to walk. Tricia in the bookstore was very nice! Tons of neat things for sale in the bookstore! Definitely recommend coming here for a nice weekend adventure. Admission is free everyday, no dogs allowed.

Beautiful national sanctuary. It never gets too crowded. Admission is free on Sundays, but not sure about other days. Several short trails that can be completed within a couple hours.
