Total Disappointment this time! La Luna has been a regular stop for us over the years for lunch in between wine tastings. The price has gone up but the quality and quantity has gone down. My Carne Asada super burrito had a few chunks of yuck in it and wasn't nearly as flavorful and big as usual. My husband's Carne Asada super quesadilla was ok but much smaller than in the past. Just incredibly disappointing when I had been so looking forward to my burrito.

Good spot for a quick Mexican meal if you're in the area. We got the super burrito with pollo and it was a huge. Easily fed two people. It gets a little busy around lunch time and we had to wait 5-7 minutes to get our order in, but after that it was ready in like two minutes. They have picnic tables outside too if you don't want to wait to chow down. Would definitely come back if we're ever in the area again.

Taco, Taco, Taco! Between these the Helada ice lollies and the lovely staff, this is my favorite place to drop in and grab a quick bite and maybe a cheeky Mexican comic book to brush up on mi español cambiable

I was not expecting to have such amazing Mexican food in Napa! Wow this place is bomb. Definitely recommend for authentic, delicious Mexican food. This place is in the back of a grocery store, where you order at the counter. Food was ready pretty quickly. They have seating outside.- Super burrito (5/5): OMG so yummy. One of the best burritos I've had, ever. The al pastor was perfectly seasoned, tender, so delicious. And omg everything you could ever want in a burrito was in there. The rice, beans, guacamole, sour cream, everything delicious. And the tortilla tasted homemade and almost doughy. Definitely must try!- Chorizo quesadilla (4/5): this was also scrumptious, just a bit greasy. But what do you expect from meat and cheese lol. It was very yummy.- Tortilla chips (5/5): They tasted super fresh, just made. Slightly greasy but not too much. The salsa verde was so flavorful and not too spicy.Wow this place is amazing. Get the super burrito forsure

Great spot for some tacos and tamales. It's like a convenient store. They also have a great parking lot around back. I don't know why but I always want to eat Mexican food before a wine tasting day. My go to place in the Napa area. Would highly recommend. You can enjoy the food outside their shop. They have picnic tables for guests to enjoy. Most of the local farmers and workers come for a quick bit to eat.

I happen to find this place while I'm on the way back home from St Helena. I just want to have something to eat while driving back home. I ordered a Carne Asada Super Burrito and I'll tell you, it is how a Super Burrito supposed to be! Let me remind you to call in first for your order because they're pretty busy.

Excellent burritos found this from the good Yelp reviews. Service was friendly, food was generous portions. The order taker said would take 25 minutes and thankfully the under promised and over delivered as my friend and I were hungry after a mountain bike ride.

We initially planned to go to a nearby restaurant. But their wait time was too long for a drop-in without reservations. Stopping by here was perfect because there was pretty much no wait at all! As you know, I do not have that virtue of being patient! I'm still working on it! There was also plenty of street parking across the street! (Note: I didn't actually check the signs to see if I could park there but I think it is probably ok. But just letting ya know so you don't get mad at me if your car gets towed or ticketed. ^___^) We walk into this little market which is reminiscent of a gas station market but without the gas. There are a lot of different snacks you can buy. Oh and guess what?! You can even buy a mop here if you wanted! The prepared food section is in the back of the market where they have a pretty large selection. We decided on the Super Nachos and the Luna lunch. Nachos are one of my fav items to order. We pretty much order that anytime we see it. I wonder why I like to order nachos so much. I would have to say that perhaps it is because it is easy to share when you have at least two people. We decided on the Luna lunch because, hey, if it's named after their market, then it's got to be good right? Our order arrived in two to-go boxes. We stepped out and, conveniently, they have some picnic tables outside where you can sit down, relax and prepare (Such as, rubbing your hands together with a grin on your face) to chomp down the food like your 80's video game friend that looks like a pie chart. Initially, it seemed like a lot of food because the two boxes felt heavy as bricks. Of course, it tasted much better than an actual brick (But do let me know if you ever find an actual brick that tastes better than this and I will race over there to try that). The ingredients for both meals were pretty much the same. The nachos contained jalapenos (Don't worry it's not so spicy that you'll become a dragon), guac, sour cream, salsa, chicken (Note: You get to choose the meat), bean sauce, and mozzarella cheese (At least that's what I think it was). I will also definitely have to note here that this will be a cheese lover's nachos. The luna lunch contained similar ingredients. There was some veggies, guac, bean sauce, salsa, mexican rice, Al pastor (Again, you get to choose), and flour tortilla (Which we actually forgot to eat so can't tell you how that was). Surprisingly, we actually finished all the food (Again with the exception of the flour tortilla). Everything was tasty but messy (I guess after all these years, I still don't have good hand-eye coordination). While we were eating, we noticed this nearby family had a much better idea than us! They bought a bag of chips and some fresh salsa to enjoy along with their lunch. Next time, our strategy will be to buy a bag of chips, salsa and one entrée to share. For example, we ended up dipping some of our chips nachos into the luna lunch anyway. We will likely be back again at some point in the future. Don't know when, but until then, happy eating!

Great tacos right in Rutherford. This is the place to stop for a quick snack or meal after a day of tasting.

La Luna is a solid stop for a quick bite when you're in the middle of wine country. There are not a lot of options in the area besides the Rutherford Grill across the street and Gott's roadside burgers up the road. Both good alternatives but they don't cater to Mexican cuisine. La Luna isn't simply a spot for burritos or tacos. They're a mini grocery chain that you can pick up an assortment of snacks that are difficult to find elsewhere in your standard California grocery store. They ALSO have a selection of Pan Dulce's from a local Mexican bakery. I always go with a carne Asada burrito you can't go wrong with that. Service is quick on the off hours (after 2pm but before 5) but you'll have a bit of a wait if you visit during lunch (11:30-1) or after 5 pm.

This place has pretty solid food! The lunch plate is VERY hearty and has a lot of good food options. The lunch plate came with al pastor, rice and beans and a side of tortillas. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I loved everything about it. So so good! I got the quesadilla and this came with a great amount of carne asada and cheese. The meat was juicy and flavorful. :) I loved it all! This place hits the spot--especially after some hunger after wine tasting.

No joke, maybe the best Mexican restaurant I've been to. The Taqueria, is in the back of the building, and around the sides and back there's some seating. Definitely recommend the chips and salsa, as well as the super burrito. Very filling, and a great way to end a pleasant Napa Very alley journey!

Sit at a picnic table. Order the luna lunch with pollo adobada. Carne al pastor nachos. Or anything else really. Best meal in Napa valley.
